Woohoo !! It's the weekend

Is anyone doing anything nice this weekend ? we haven't got any plans as yet. The girls have got a couple of friends sleeping over tonight. Kerry and her friend are attempting to watch a whole boxset of 24 (season 2 I think) so they'll be up for most of the night

Hello gals,
Julia (DGD) has her piano recital on Sunday...and I have to bake 4 doz. cookies for it...I plan on doing that on SAT...(Hope it wont be as hot as its been or Ill be spending my baking time outside...)..

Other then that ..

I watched 24 the first 2 seasons, ...It got old to me after that...
Mike says the whole series was KS, yelling all the time...
He has never liked KS, I do, BUT I just got tired of the show I guess... I hope they enjoyed there night!...

I will be spending my weekend home alone again.

Rick is leaving to go to an airplane competition this afternoon, back late Sunday night.

Alex has left early this morning to go to his summer job and won't be back until the beginning of September.

Liz is leaving tomorrow morning to visit a friend an hour away until sometime on Sunday.

That leaves little 'ole me, home all alone.

I'll probably spend some time with my mom and go to visit my dad.

Mandy, I don't think I've mentioned it on this thread but last week we had to put my dad into a nursing home. He has Alzheimer's and it was getting too hard for my mom to take care of him at home anymore. Unfortunately he is a young guy (just turned 74 last weekend).

So my mom is alone now. Well alone except for a dog and two cats and a business that she runs from her home

Right now I'm getting together some picture collages to hang on the walls of my dad's room in the nursing home. Maybe I can get those finished and take them there this weekend.

Hi Robin - You mentioned a couple of weeks ago that you were looking around nursing homes, so you have done well to find one so quickley. I can imagine that it must be very difficult for him and the rest of the family, but when Paul's Aunt went into a nursing home, we brought some photos and a few ornaments and made it very homely

Do you mind being on your own this weekend, or do you enjoy the peace and quiet ? I always think that it's nice to be able to watch whatever I want on the TV, but I hate it when it's so quiet (as the girls do tend to make a lot of noise )

Betsy - Good luck with all your baking, I hope you enjoy your DGD piano recital

Hi Mandy, we were very lucky that my dad found a place so quickly. We were told there was a 3 to 6 month wait for a bed but he got in in about 2 1/2 weeks

I don't mind so much being home alone. It does tend to get quiet around here at times though.

Except right now, of course. The silly cat won't be quiet

Why is it that when I sit at the computer she always wants outside

Busy day here today.

First it was hot, hot, hot

Got the lawn mowed this morning finally.

Did some running aroudn with my mom, went to visit my dad and to the cemetery to visit my grandma She would have turned 97 today. She died 11 years ago. We finally buried her ashes a few weeks ago. We put her with her mother which is always where she wanted to be. Today we went out and put a little "marker" on the grave with her name and pertinent dates.

Then I went to my mom's for supper and now I'm back home all alone but not lonely :

Last night I watch The Notebook. It was a pretty good movie. Tonight I am catching up on some of the shows that I have taped in the past few weeks but not watched yet.

I didn't accomplish too much today.

I finished up some laundry and I also finished planting some impatiens that I bought about 3 weeks ago

It has rained off and on today but we did get some sunshine in between.

Looks like we are in for more rain real soon though.

This sounds like my weather today!....Only when it wasnt raining ..it was VERY humid...
Julias recital was very nice and she did well as I thought she would ...
I also got some weeding done with a little help from her later in the afternoon...

The twins played in the new sprinkler even without the sun...and had alot of fun...But came in much sooner then they would have normally....

Everyone has gone home now...So Im going to go veg.. for awhile...Im beat!

Hi Girls

It has been a lovely day here. I am going to be so busy this week, it's Kerry's Prom on Friday night, so I am having a big clean-up as the kids are coming here to pick up the Limo, and their parents may come round too to take photos or video

So I'm cleaning inside the house, and then I'm cutting the grass and tidying up the garden Wednesday or Thursday - so as you can imagine I'm rather busy (it's a great excuse to do chores that I have been putting off for the last couple of months)

I can't wait to take lots of photos and I'll try and post some either Friday night or Saturday
