Hey Robin - I'm here

We've just got back from a great weekend away

We took 5 teenagers away, and actually lived to tell the tale :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We've had some great meals and I bought a lovely top. The girls went totally mad and bought half the shopping mall between them :rotfl:

So it's chaos here, as we start putting the stuff away and I get on with washing

Enjoy the rest of the weekend girls

Mandy :)

Hi Betsy!! I love the name Chico... how cute!:goodvibes They are so sweet, I want to get another one but not convinced yet I should. I would put her in another cage, I just don't like the thought of him home all alone when I'm at work..

I have heard that if you want your birds to speak..You shouldnt keep two together...or they will just talk to each other and not learn to speak for you...:confused3 ..I'm not sure if this is true ...but it might be something you may want to look into.....before you get another,... If you want them to talk.....
;)

Hey everyone...
I'm havign the whole family over today...So I'll be busy...
Sounds like you had a nice weekend Mandy!....I'm hoping everyone else did too...

I see by your signature that you like America's Next Top Model.

My daughter and I watch that show all the time.

We've only started watching the last couple of seasons though.

They have a Canada's Next Top Model too. They've had one season last summer and then another coming up this summer.

A girl that lives 1/2 hour away from us was a contestant in the first season. She did quite well but did not make it all the way to the end. Last week I saw an article about her in the paper. She has been modelling in Greece and is also going to be in some magazine.

Yeah I love America's Next Top Model, it's my favourite show!

We get Britains Next Top Model but its not very good. No Tyra, no Mr & Mrs Jay, no Twiggy and no Nigel Barker. Pretty boring really and the photoshoots aren't as good.

Kerryy xx

Canada's Next Top Model has Jay Manuel as the host.

He is actually Canadian.

I don't remember who else they had on their though. It was only one last summer and will not be on again until summertime.

The Canadian one might not be quite as good as the American one but it is pretty close.

Hey Girls

I hope you've all had a great weekend, I can't believe it's Monday again. Luckily the girls are breaking up on Friday for the Easter holidays, they've got 2 weeks off (woohoo !! a few lie-ins will be on the cards :thumbsup2 )

Betsy - I hope you had fun with all the family;)

Mandy :)

LOL - how funny to have a bird that can talk and sing, you'll have to teach it the Cha Cha Slide Kelly :rotfl2:

They would be too funny!!:lmao: Glad you survived the weekend, looks like you guys had alot of fun. I'm happy to report that we officially have one indoor soccer session finished. Now I can have my Sunday's back to enjoy yardwork

I've heard that, too!:thumbsup2 He was at a home with two other cockatiels but in a different cage and room, he learned to talk very well with them around. I've definately heard about it not being wise keeping them in the same cage if you want to interact with them well. Still thinking about it... How are the grandkids all doing? Are they looking forward to spring break?

Hi Kerry!:wave2: Wow... sounds like you guys had a pretty good time shopping!! Do you guys get a spring break at your school this time of the year?

Hey Kelly, have you had a good weekend ? how is Paula these days ? - what has she been up to ? Are you trying to persuade her to Cruise next year too ? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Robin - I forgot to ask you about Liz, how did the competition go ? I hope you both enjoyed it

Mandy :)

Hey Mandy:wave: I had a great weekend, it was busy... but it's nice to see that next weekend will be a little more relaxing:goodvibes

I just emailed Paula a few minutes ago, she's lost her way to the boards. I sent her a link to this thread, maybe she'll pop in soon. I've told her you guys have been asking about her;)

I'm trying to persuade the entire family to go again. We won't be able to go during the school year on the next cruise since they are so funny about high school attendance.... so I'm hoping that they'll say yes and CW stops putting off an answer:lmao:

Hello everyone :) I have missed all of you! I wasn't sure the thread was still happening until I spoke with Kelly. Hi Kelly

I hope all of you are well. I am so happy it is Spring. I have been having so much fun with Stella and Jacob outside. The kids are having fun trying to start a vegetable garden.

I would love to go cruisin anytime you ask me to Kelly! Just tell me when and I will do all I can to make it happen.

We should all book a cruise at the same time!! :goodvibes

:grouphug:
Paula

Kelly maybe you can help me fix my signature line since I don't know how. :lmao:

:cheer2: Yeah !! It's great to hear from you Paula, I'm desperately trying to get Kelly to organise another Cruise with us, as we're booked on the Disney Wonder 24th/28th August 2008 with a double dip at Castaway Cay

I hope you and your family are keeping well, have you got any trips booked for this year ?

Thanks, I had a lovely Mother's Day

Here's the latest cute piccie doing the rounds, it's for Easter

Hi everyone.

It's been a very lovely warm day here today. The temperature was in the 70's and people were in shorts and tshirts:thumbsup2

I uncovered the fish pond today because the temperature under the tarp was almost 80. I think it was getting just a little bit too warm under there. It's always nice when I take the cover off and can take stock of how many fish are still in there. :fish:

I also had a traumatic day today.:guilty: I was in the back yard taking the cover off the pond and I hear this lady yelling...... She was trying to call her dog back out of the field behind my house. She lives a few houses away but I don't know her.

The dog was going after a groundhog. Poor groundhog. The dog killed it :sad1: Now I'm thinking, if that dog will kill a groundhog what would it do if it got a hold of a cat. Probably the same thing :sad2: Now I'll be worried about my cats, although I've rarely every seen that dog outside.

Liz's dance competition went well. There was a slight problem in that her group was practising and missed their time to perform  They weren't paying close enough attention to what was going on.

It was a good thing that they were the only group in that category and that the judges allowed them to perform after they came back from dinner break. They danced well but we did not stay long enough to get the awards, so we don't know what kind of mark they got. Hopefully that will be sent out to them this week.

I'll tell ya though.... I got very tired of seeing skinny bare ribcages sticking out and behinds that were barely covered  It seemed to be mainly a problem with the younger dancers aged 7 to 12 or so. The older they got for the main part, the more clothes they had on.

Also too many little girls dancing to inappropriate music for their age. There was one 7 year old who did a solo. She was made up and I swear she looked 25. She had a beautiful costume though. Anyways, she was dancing to a song about needing a man, bumping and grinding included :scared1: Scary stuff.

The girls from our dance studio do not wear costumes like that, thank goodness.

Hey Robin

How awful to hear that the dog had killed the groundhog, I would be worried about my cats too

Thank goodness Liz's group were able to perform, it is a worry when you see young girls so thin and I hate to see them dress and dance inappropriately - I know it shouldn't, but it sends the wrong message out.

I think we're in for a warm day today (though it's all change tomorrow when the rain moves in), I think it's going to be about 62F. I can't wait for the temperatures to get into the 70's

Good Morning everyone, and have a great day

Mandy :)

Good morning cruisers.

Im up early today because of aching sinuses and not being able to breathe lying down and an annoying cat outside my window :headache:

I'd much rather still be sleeping but maybe I can fit in a nap later on ;)

Looks like a nice day in store here today, but of course a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Temperatures in the low 70's :goodvibes :goodvibes

When I went to dance class last night I found out that the teacher had the results of Liz's dance competition.:dance3: Her group got a first place. Now you might think, of course they did because they were the only one's in that category (which is what I thought :confused3 ) But no, I guess it works by your score. There could be 5 groups in the category and they could all earn first place or third depending of their scores.

They were extremely happy with their first place status. Apparently the ballet judge gave them quite high marks and she had been marking toughly all day.

Since I'm up I guess I'll get an early start to my day. I've got to go to work for a bit, take a car in for service and do a bunch of other stuff.

I'll be back later.
