Wow, that castle apartment is lovely, I would love to stop there :thumbsup2

It would be wonderful if someone we knew won this - maybe it will be you Betsy as you seem to be lucky, as you did win the internet access on the cruise :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Good Luck to any of you that are off to WDW this year

Mandy :)

Morning all,

Mandy,
I used up all my luck on THAT win :) ...Im sure. ;) ..It took me 50 years to finally win something....IF they are doing the same promo in another 50 years ....I might win......BUT by then I wont care if I can get out of the castle.at night ..I'll just want to make sure my nurse is allowed in with my walker and pacemaker:rotfl:

Susan posted. on the TKers and she is having lots of fun on her and her DHs adventure...Right now they are in TX.....Just an FYI:thumbsup2

We have no plans for this weekend.....My mother is going to visit with my sister(they are going to the opera)until Sunday...and Ill probably clean her room while she's gone...but thats about it for us...:confused3

Anyway I hope your weekend is more fun then mine will be!...pixiedust:

Well I have NO faith :p in this but...It gives us all just a little hope!:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Heres the BIG news for the US :rotfl:

Feb 2, 7:46 AM (ET)

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (AP) - A new pair of hands pulled Punxsutawney Phil from his stump this year, so it was only fitting that the groundhog offered a new prediction.

Phil did not see his shadow on Friday which, according to German folklore, means folks can expect an early spring instead of six more weeks of winter.

Since 1886, Phil has seen his shadow 96 times, hasn't seen it 14 times and there are no records for nine years, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club. The last time Phil failed to see his shadow was in 1999.

More than 15,000 revelers milled about in a misty snow waiting for the prediction, as fireworks exploded overhead and the "Pennsylvania Polka" and other music blared in the background.

Longtime handler Bill Deeley retired after more than a dozen years and was replaced Friday by Punxsutawney Groundhog Club Inner Circle members John Griffiths and Ben Hughes.

Each Feb. 2, thousands of people descend on Punxsutawney, a town of about 6,100 people about 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, to celebrate what had essentially been a German superstition.

The Germans believed that if a hibernating animal cast a shadow on Feb. 2 - the Christian holiday of Candlemas - winter would last another six weeks. If no shadow was seen, legend said spring would come early.

TTFN...

No shadow here today either, at least not yet.

Does it have to happen by a certain time of day to be valid :confused3

It's dreary with light snow drifting down at the moment, but it might clear up this afternoon.

Hi Guys

The girls have gone off to Youth Club with the 3 friends that are sleeping over tonight (peace at last :rotfl2: ), then tomorrow we're taking a different couple of girls to dinner at a very nice Chinese restaurant that offers a lovely buffet

Take care

Hello all,

Robin,
Right now its about 18 degrees...we are suppose to get wind chills at around -15 tonight.:scared1: ...BRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hello everyone!

Its VERY :cold: COLD here today......But nice and toasty in my house with a fire crackling in the fireplace!....:thumbsup2

Well seeing as there are very few new posts...everyone must be having a busy weekend:thumbsup2 ...I hope its GOOD busy:wizard:

I am getting ready for my DGDs.....and Sunday breakfast...

watched "The Guardian" last night:happytv: ....It was good...;)

Glad I didnt watch it on the ship....or it wouldnt have been just the last night I would have gotten sick:rotfl:

Well Have a good day!

TTFN

Morning Betsy.

It's very cold here too, I think. I haven't been outside yet today and may not go out.

I think Alex should be glad he's not in the far north today. The wind chill is supposed to be -41 :faint:

No wonder he's talking about moving south already ;)

I've got the "I'm bored's" :confused3

I don't know what I want to do and I'm bored:sad2:

Hi there

It's quite mild here today, we woke to a frost, but it warmed up by lunchtime.

Nothing much is happening here, we're bored too. Bored of the Winter, bored because we haven't booked another holiday, bored, bored, bored :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Robin - why haven't you got your new ticker up for your next cruise ? or are you thinking of changing your date ? We have been looking at a Cruise for next year. We're looking at the 4 night double dips at Castaway Cay for June, July or August next year or the 5 night Disney Magic with 2 stops at CC in Sept 08, but as it is getting very important for the girls not to lose too much time from school, we're having trouble picking our dates.

I think (well fingers crossed) that we may go to WDW over the New Year and do a Cruise in Aug or Sept 08

The girls are at school this week, and then they've got a week off for half term (which I think they are looking forward to)

Kelly - I hope Chad's birthday went well

I hope your team (whoever is playing) wins the Superbowl - can't you tell I haven't got a clue what the Superbowl is :confused3 (is that the game where Janet Jackson had a wardrobe malfunction a few years ago :rotfl: :rotfl: )

Anyway have fun whatever you're doing

Mandy :)

I suppose I could put up a countdown ticker for my cruise next January.

I've just not really thought about it.

So far we are not changing the date but that doesn't mean that it won't change still.

No sports stuff for us in this house either. Just not into sports at all.

Hope everyone else is enjoying their games though.

Hey Mandy (or anybody else who knows the answer).....

Is there a beach at the Contemporary Resort?

I know there is/are resorts that have beaches but I don't know which ones they are:confused3

Anybody help me out?

Thanks for the info on the beaches Mandy.

I also looked in my Disney World Book and found the beach at Fort Wilderness.

Now I know that the beaches are strictly for the use of resort guests only but they probably wouldn't mind someone stopping and sitting for a bit. Especially if
the beach is not crowded.

As for plans for a visit....... well, maybe ;)

Liz would really like to get away to somewhere warm and we are thinking maybe a short trip away during her March break.

I don't blame her really. She hasn't been away since last August and it's cold here.

Don't know for sure if it will happen yet or not but I'm just doing some research on the idea.

Well Disney would be much nicer but its so much more expensive.

I'm not sure we want to go that extravagant this time.

Besides, we have to try out different things so that when we return to Disney Cruise Line, we really appreciate the difference quality brings ;)

Good Morning!:surfweb:

VERY VERY COLD HERE!.......5 below when we got up this morning....:sad1:

I SOOO love my fireplace:rotfl:

Hey...We are going in Sept...to FWR...with our DGSs(just the two older ones)...
Would really LOVE it ...if anyone would be planning for that time :teeth:
My dates are the 22nd-29th of Sept....The boys are home schooled so we dont have that problem......
AND I am very excited to learn that they start doing the MNSSHP while we are there....Sooo we will be able to take the boys to it...I think they will LOVE that!....

I wish I could talk Mike into going before that....but Im not holding my breath...as we have to save for all our trips and There wouldnt be enough time to save for something sooner....BUT warmth would be very nice right now!:upsidedow

I do know that we will probably NOT do anymore winter vaca's because We worry too much about the pipes and all in the winter....Thank god we had a very mild early winter....Mike would have been beside himself with worry and wouldnt have had a good time if it was like this while we were gone!;)

There are beaches at the Poly, CR, WL, CBR, GF, I think.
That might be it....BUT I was told that you could always come and enjoy any of the grounds of any resort....Just not there pools...We have sat and watched wishes from the poly beach befor and we were not staying there at the time..(but if you do...I would sit anywhere BUT the beach...We got bit up really bad sitting on the beach....Moved to some chairs near the pool and that was just fine.....Asked about it and was told it was probably sand fleas:confused3 ......
We also watch the ELP...I just love to watch the floats all lit up and doing there thing....
I am planning on do that with the boys too!:thumbsup2

...Its my quiet day...So Im going to set up my new phone ( the only thing I DONT like about getting a new phone)and watch a movie I fell asleep on last night...:happytv:

Hope you all stay warm and have a great day!:wizard:

TTFN

Thanks for all the info Betsy.

The water parade is something that I haven't seen yet and I would like to see that sometime soon.

You know, doesn't matter how many times you go to Disney there are still things you haven't seen or done.

Amazing isn't it.
