Hi everyone

I hope you're all OK

I'm working hard on my DCL trip report, and I'm hoping to have it ready tonight

Has anyone got anything nice planned for the weekend ?

It's Kerry's 16th birthday next Wednesday, and she's got a sleepover planned for Saturday night and the girls and a couple of friends are going ice skating tomorrow afternoon.

Next weekend she's got another sleepover and then we're going to a nice Chinese Restaurant for lunch.

I spent most of the day typing up my Cruise trip report, the next couple of weekends are revolving around Kerry and her birthday outings, apart from that we've not got much on

Rick and I went to the Castaway Club Party Mandy.

It was okay but different from previous ones that we attended.

The food was not as elaborate as it has been in the past. No free alcoholic beverages either.

They had out nibble foods can't remember what all except they had the Rice Krispie Mickey Heads. They offered tea, coffee and soft drinks in cans to drink.

They did give away 5 Castaway Club clocks. We didn't win one of course, or you would have heard about it all ready.

They had a little trivia game to play and they showed some interesting video of the launching of the Magic and the Wonder.

It was an okay event but nothing really special.

Hi Kelly, nice to see you posting, I've missed you the past few days.

Mandy, this weekend we are attending a chili cook off, hosted by one of our friends.

Everybody brings their own version of chili and they pick a few taste testers and they taste them all and pick their favourite.

We did this 2 years and guess whose chili won the best all around prize

Do you use ground beef or steak?....

I think most use beef, But I think the steak tastes alot better...

I really make mine out of ground turkey now...
Of course Mike likes his VERY hot...So I make it as hot as I can take it and he adds "hot" to that....

We use ground beef in our chili Betsy.

Our chili actually won last time because the "judges" liked the SWEET taste of it

Actually we make our homemade spaghetti sauce first (ground beef, can of tomato soup, can of mushroom soup, can of stewed tomatoes, ketchup and some garlic, onions, worchestershire sauce etc.)

Then we add a can of Stagg Chili, right from the store and turn it into chili

Hey, it worked for the last chili contest

We'll see what happens this time.

I make mine from ground turkey(although Id rather use steak).....
canned tomatoes,onions ,green peppers...and all the spices...You know chilli powder, cayenne,...etc..I like to use black beans with the kidney beans..just for variety...Of course Mike will put a habanero or two in his....along with some redhot...
