7th January 2007, 4 Night Wonder Cruise

suzi, love your pictures. Your roommate looks like a nice friendly girl.

This will be our 8th Disney Cruise and we have gotten a few upgrades in the past too. Usually from a Cat 11 to a 9 or 10. I think once we got an 8 but I don't remember what we booked that time, it was our first cruise.

There is really no need to stress about the documents. It doesn't matter if they never arrive to you. Your name will still be on their list and you can fill out paperwork at the terminal if needed. Now that they have online check in, that is all the you really need. Just bring your printed out form from the website and you are good to go.

It's still fun to have those documents in your hands though.

Betsy, actually I don't mind the long drive to Florida and back again. To me it is part of the adventure of the trip.

Kelly, it can't hurt to send those people a PM. If they answer, that's great, if not, well, what ya going to do

Today we have rain, rain, and more rain Kind of chilly out too, mainly because of the rain I think.

I need to vent for a sec... I'm sorry!

All morning long I have been very frustrated! Here's why:

I spoke with the social worker, about the young man who will be moving into our home, to make sure everything is still on track with the cruise for him.

Rewind... the Monday before Thanksgiving, I spoke with her about this and she said it shouldn't be a problem and how wonderful we would include him. She would send me paperwork to fill out to allow him to be with us. Well on Friday, we got the paperwork and found out we've got the green light to allow him to stay with us. Just as long as we have nothing criminal in our background check (clean as a whistle)!

Now, this last conversation, I reminded her of the cruise. She doesn't recall any mention of it and hopes we can get our money back just in case.

It's not a done deal. There is a small chance he can still go by either:
A) The paperwork goes thru really quickly
~or~
B) His current foster parents allow him to go with us (which they will) and his social worker has to approve it as him being a friend of the family I guess!

I need lots of pixiedust this way! He thinks he is going and is very excited, plus we have all gotten him gifts that are geared towards the cruise. What have I done?

Oh Kelly - I hope your Social Worker fast tracks the paperwork through to enable him to come on the Cruise. I'm sure he is just as excited as you are about the trip and he would be so disappointed to be left behind. I'm sending you lots of Pixie Dust and I hope you get the result you're after very soon

Hi everyone
Marianne is the best roomate ever. I got her about half-way through the semester because my old roomate whom I had nothing in common with and her old roomate were best friends and wanted to room together. I could have lived for a year with Mandy (Old Room Mate) but Marianne and I became very good friends. We are both sophmores are b-days are 2 days apart so we are the same age almost exactly and we are both shy but talk a lot when we are with someone we feel comfortable with. We both are slightly messy people mostly because we both tend to procrastanate. She loves Winnie the Pooh and I love all things Disney. We talk for hours and we somtimes get into really good conversations at 2:00 in the morning.
They say that when God closes a door he opens a window. I think that most of the time God closes the window and opens the door. Marianne is definetly a door God opened for me.

Kelly- I remember the paperwork my parents had to fill out for the boys to go with us across the state line I can't imagine what has to be done to take someone out of the country. I'll be praying that everything turns out well.

Suzi - Marianne sounds like a lovely girl, it makes such a difference to surround yourself with nice people when you are away from home. She sounds like lots of fun and I'm pleased that you have forged a lovely friendship

I did call DCL about a meeting place...They suggested Diverions, but its nothing formal...We just meet there....

The only time we would have to reserve a place is if we used a meeting room...and that would cost quite a bit of money...

Sooo the CM said we should just plan on meeting at one of the clubs, and said Diversions is normally pretty empty until after sail away..and we should have plenty of room there...and they serve drinks and stuff there too...
So I went with that....

Hi Cruisers! Guess what! I read ALL the posts since my last post and I have a question.....

What documents are we expecting? Are they the same documents that we can download and fill out? First time cruiser here.....

It's 2-3pm at Diversions - I thought you'd like to know that I actually wrote it down somewhere this time! I'll be there! I'm the one that looks like a monkey sittin' in a banana tree! LOVED the pic! Although DalPal & Cruisin can vouch - the meeting IS in the middle of nap time! What sacrifices we make for fun!

disallday - cudos to you for bringing in children to your home AND including them in a "family" trip! My twin brother has adopted 4 children and I appreciate how challenging it can be....I hope you feel as rewarded has he does.

Hi I'm 19 years old and at college but I'm going on the cruise with my Mom and Dad 2 Sisters 3 brothers 2 Aunts 2 Uncles 1 Grandma 1 Grandpa and 2 cousins. I go home in 2 weeks and I can't wait. Marianne is not coming as she could not talk her mom into leting their family come and we have no room in our rooms. nice to meet you

You will probably receive a package in the mail or by delivery service in the very near future that will also have all this information in it.

It is exciting to receive your documents even though you can fill them out on line. There is just something about holding them in your hand

I will most definitely be there at karaoke. Any time you are planning on going and singing please let me know. I really am looking forward to it.

Don't expect to get any singing out of me though. I've heard too many untalented people doing karaoke to put myself through that

As to the time passing by and the cruise being almost here. Do you remember a few years back when we decided that we would do this cruise all together I honestly had my doubts that we would ever pull it off.

I am so glad that I've been proven wrong.

I remember! I was speaking to my work about that - because my going on this cruise was a condition of hiring me. They kind of rolled their eyes over a condition that was 2 years away - but - here it is!

I'm glad we were ALL proven wrong. I was ready, saving money, DH was ready to go....but Betsy took the first step and booked. Then we fell like dominoes! I wish a few other Threadkillers could have gone - but such is life.

Can't wait! I guess I better print up those documents and get them filled out!

I am sooo happy that you guys finally get to experience a Disney Cruise...you will all have so much fun and remember I will be right there with you every step of the way!
