I just wanted to ask everyone to keep my mom in there thoughts and prayers. I just found out that she had to have a root canal and they couldn't finish it at the dentist's office so she has to see a specialest on the 18th :sad2: . Which means that she will be in a lot of pain. Plus The preschool she runs starts next tuesday. Thank you so much

thanks to everyone for the well wishes....it worked! :teeth: I'm feeling pretty good today, and I haven't even had any meds! :rotfl:

We were suppose to go see Kayla at college today, but now I;m not sure if we will get there. Maybe tomorrow, Eric is taking tomorrow off. Today the store has been pretty busy and all the regular full-timers are off so he won;t be able to leave til after closing....4 pm, and the ride to college is a little over 2 hrs. By the time we get there, see everything, have dinner, ride home, it'll be after midnight! We aren't late night people. :rotfl2:
So, we DID have some interesting plans, but now they are up in the air! :confused3 Hope everyone else has a wonderful day....
it's :sunny: here in Medford! :lmao:

You're funny :sunny: !

so, what kid of store?

I'm having a crazy day rushing from one kid thing to another. I'll be so glad when I go to bed tonight!!!

I haven't done my passport yet, but it's on my mind CONSTANTLY. Maybe on Tueday when little one is in school like my big kids.

Happy weekend everyone. I'm dreaming of our Disney Cruise.... meeting the :dance3: sisters, .singing really well :rolleyes1 , Having time alone with my DH  , and in general meeting all of you in person

jennifer :beach: Castaway Cay...I'm coming....

Between Christmas and our cruise - I am so excited !!

I keep reading trip reports, navigators and menus (I've even figured out what I'll probably eat each evening - LOL)

I keep thinking about lazing on Castaway Cay, with the sun beating down and a Bahama Mama in my hand

I'm so looking forward to meeting you all and I'm really hoping that Captain Jack Sparrow will still be onboard too

I haven't been doing much today, so I think my mind has been working overtime thinking about the cruise

I really feel that we're all going to have a fab time

Mandy :)

I figured out what I wanted to eat the week I found out I was going. I told my mom and she thought I was crazy. :rotfl: It's good to know I'm not alone. I really can't wait.

I like to thinka bout what I might eat as well...like will they be serving that pumpkin soup in Tritions on Nassau day? yum.

BIG QUESTION. Should I consider saving a couple hundred dollars and move back to a cat 9? Right now we have a cat 7. I'd move to a cat 11, but I know my DH will be happier with a window. I really wanted the balcony this time. Money is just getting tighter and I realized that we could pay for the transfers with that. Right now I owe about $5 on the cruise itself and still have to pay for passports, insurance (i won't be buying Disney's), and transfers. I think the price dif is just over $200.

Opinions. Will DH and I enjoy the balcony alone enough to justify it? That's only $100 more per person.....

Most of you have cruised more than I have. Give me your opinion please.

thanks.
jennifer

That's a tough one Jen, my DH thinks the verandah in brilliant and well worth the money ~ just so he can escape from 3 females getting ready :rotfl: Personally we think it's worth it ~ but if I needed to cut the cost of my cruise, going down a category would be the first thing we'd do :thumbsup2

Good luck in your decision

Mandy :)

Hi All

Jennifer keep the balcony, we had a window room once and then a balcony room and the whole room just seemed so much larger with the balcony space.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We spent the day grouting the bathroom remodel. It's almost done!!

Chat more later :grouphug:

Just an FYI... :teeth: .

If any of you can get it...
The DCL is going to be on the
travel channel tonight at 8 PM... ;)
The AK is on it right now..... :thumbsup2

Sunny thanks for the input on the baby gift. 8 is a lot of kids :faint: I still haven't decided for sure what to get her.

Jennifer........ if money is tight, I would go down a couple of categories if it were me.

We have never sailed with a verandah before and we've found the cabins to be more than comfortable in size.

Also, we never spend much time in our cabin anyway. :confused3 For us, it's just a place to sleep and shower and change. The rest of the time we are out doing and seeing :thumbsup2 To much happening to spend sit in the cabin, we might miss something. :p

You have to decide what's right for you. You can downgrade your cabin and hope for an upgrade and if it doesn't come, I'm sure you'll still have a wonderful time.

Oh in case you never noticed.

I'm back :rotfl2:

We had a great weekend but we ate WAY too much. Seems like all we did was eat and eat and eat and eat.........................

I totally agree Robin, that's why we tend to stay at the Pop Century, we just don't spend much time in the room, so we don't see the point in staying in anything but a value resort

BTW ~ Welcome back Robin, I'm so glad that you had a good weekend, I look forward to seeing some photos if there are any going ??

My husband took over the family business about 3 yrs ago. It's a small building supply store, but we refer to it as the Lumber Company because that's how it started originally. It goes back at least 3 generations...maybe 4. I can't remember exactly which is so completely sad because my stepdaughter did one of her senior projects on the history of the store and my son had to do a history project last year for school and did the store. :confused3 The business has been quite good to us. We were pretty far in debt about 6 yrs ago, we made some lifestyle changes and paid off what we could, and have been steadily working on retirement ever since. I might even get a new car in May! :woohoo: But most exciting for me is that in June we will have our foundation put in for our new house!! :cheer2: Still needs a well and septic, and of course the rest of the house would be nicetoo, but it'll come eventually. (It would come quicker if I didn't want to go on a family vacation every year....)

I have to go to Dover today to get the kids to their dental cleaning. That;s where the closest place to send in passport pictures is. So Eric asked me to call him when the kids were nearly done so he could meet me at the PO to get mine, Cora's and his passports in. Hopefully it'll all work out....NOW IT"S YOUR TURN!! GET THOSE PAPERS OUT!!!! :teeth:

My favorite part of the day is shower time...I don't answer anybody while I'm in the shower...unless it;s an emergency. My second favorite is bedtime...sounds bad, but I love to sleep. :rotfl:

I think that's what's sooo cool about talking to you guys! I'm glad to know that there are people who are just as preoccupied w/ this cruise like I am! Like Spongebob says....

I can't wait to continue reading this thread to see Mandy's response! One for each hand, huh girl?? :lmao:

You bet Kelly :thumbsup2 I'd get a couple for each foot too if I was a bit more atheletic :rotfl: :rotfl:

Wendy ~ nice to hear that the new house is coming along, I know it's slow work, but you have to have your family trips to save you sanity :thumbsup2

I'm telling you, if I had to pack my case in an hour, that would be no problem, I am so excited and looking forward to it

My husband would love that pumpkin soup! He and I and Cora all love trying new things all the time, and there's no better opportunity than on a cruise. If I had to stretch the $'s somewhere, I to would go down a catagory or two, but if you can swing it, keep the balcony. We have never done Disney before, but Eric and I cruised RCCL in '04, and had a balcony. It was wonderful. We would go back to our room and nap in the middle of the day with the sliding door open. One of us always napped longer so the other would head out on the balcony and just enjoy the scenery or lack of scenery. I knew I was booking a balcony this time around. There's nothing like room service breakfast on the balcony. We tried to get a suite but they were booked. :guilty: So we are actually getting two balcony rooms....one on the port side and one on starbird, got the bases covered for views on each side of the ship!! :teeth: They do say that if you get seasick, which I do, that you should stick to the lower decks, that may come into play when making a decision too. And sooo many people say that they don't spend any time in their room anyway, so why bother with the extra $'s on a balcony when you can go up to the upper decks and see everything anyway. Another good point to consider. We may not use the balcony as much this time around with the kids with us, it is quite romantic, but we're gonna go for it. Good luck in deciding, I'm glad it's not me. My biggest worry is the credit card bill following the cruise it took forever to pay off the last one and it was just Eric and I, this time it's us, 3 kids, and my mother in law!! YIKES!!! :rotfl2:
