Help... my order just arrived! Each and every one of the boxes says to refrigerate right away. I didn't realize that they all neede to be refrigerated? I could swear that I see these on shelves in stores? Anybody have any insight here? I am swamped and a bit panicked. I ordered three block party boxes, one petite fours, two cheese crock combos, a pear box, a dreid fruit collection, two hams -which I obviously knew had to be frozen or refrigerated. I am really hoping that these stickers all over every box are just precaution. Anybody got any info? Help....

cheese in fridge, meat on shelf. Except for hams of course. Dried fruit on shelf.
Pears whichever you choose I guess.

Thank you! Okay, I'll admit it I panicked and before I received your response called Hickory Farms. You were right the stickers on the boxes are standard practice but this is what he advised:

cheese crocks must be refrigerated
cheese "logs/sticks" need not be refrigerated until after opening
cheese balls need not be refrigerated until after opening
sausages need not be refrigerated until after opening
Petit Fours oddly enough he advised refrigerate to keep fresh
chocolates again advised refrigeration to prevent color changes
Pears - refrigerate to slow down ripening, keep on shelf to enjoy right away. (gotta add - they are good! I'm eating one right now. I was kind of iffy when I first saw them because they do not look too great - but they are yummy!!)
Oh, dried fruit -do not refrigerate but keep in a cool/dark place for best storage.

HTH some of you when I saw all the boxes with the stickers I really freaked. Rest assured there is a lot of "box" and the end result is not nearly as bad as it first appeared.

When I applied the source code, my shipping jumped from $15.99 to over $30.

That's funny that you mention this because I thought my shipping jumped from 11.99 to 13.99 when I used the source code too, but I just thought I was seeing things.....

I had the same shock when I got my order before Christmas. But after I took it all out of the box, it wasn't bad since there was so much packaging. I had my first 75% order come yesterday and I would have never been able to fit all 3 boxes in my fridge. After I unpackaged it, I got it all into my deli drawer.

I just ordered my daughter, that is away at college, the ham dinner with 3 sides, the Holiday Petits Fours , Family Reunion Gift Box and The Sausage & Cheese Slicer Gift Board all for $86 delivered. It retails for over $200. She will be so excited. We didn't tell what we sent her, just told her to watch for something in the mail. My daughter got the Ham dinner with 3 sides TODAY!! Wow was that fast!! Came in a cooler packed with dry ice. She was very excited to get it. It will be interesting to see when the other items come, it shows it shipped by does not show up with the tracking number I recieved.

I'd like to hear opinions on how the hams taste once they've been sampled. I am anxiously awaiting my order's arrival. I've always wanted to order petit fours, and I went for it this time. I got the block party, turkey sampler, dried fruit, pears, pretzels, etc. I also picked up some of the garden vegetable spread (not on sale) for myself and a friend. It is YUMMY! I just got my order today, even though they divided it into four different shipments it all arrived on the same day! They shipped my box of chocolates seperately and the two hams in a seperate shipment (but two different boxes/coolers boxes saran wrapped together) the Petite Fours were also in a seperate shipment, and the block party sets/cheese crock combos, pears were in the fourth shipment. Mind you none of this was together in a big box but the individual boxes were rewrapped in slightly larger plain boxes and then those boxes were shrink wrapped together - quite an unusual way to package things. I could not seem to find a rhyme or reason to the packaging either, although I did expect the hams to be seperate I could not figure out why seperate a box of chocolates. But at those prices - whom am I to complain?

I am hoping it arrives before we leave for DisneyWorld next Sunday, the 19th. I do have someone coming in twice a day to take care of the dogs, so it is ok if it arrives late, but I really would like to take some of it on our trip with us, and I would like to handle what to put in the freezer and such before we go.

I placed my order 1/07 (Wed., right?) and it says I'll get a portion Monday and the other stuff has a tracking number, but it's not actually left their posession yet so it's not in the UPS system.

Log into hickoryfarms.com and click on "Order Tracking" If you have a tracking number, I bet you're in line to ship pretty soon!
I mean, who would assign a tracking number before they even packed up a box?
