70 to Freezing in 7 hours. A Nov/Dec 2011 trip report. Updated 4/28

Wow, when you post updates, you really post some updates!
lol all those updates had been done for a while I just kind played catch up on this thread lol. Had them all saved in the word thing :)

Ok, it might seem weird, but I'm a corn farmer from the Midwest, so I was actually kind of excited to see a picture of a European corn field. Looks about the same as the ones here though. :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:
:rotfl: I'm glad I could give you a pic of a European Corn Field. They were everywhere on the road from the airport

I'd have been temped to punch the driver.
Yes I was but at the same time I was kinda going are we there yet are we there yet :hyper:

And it is moment's like this that make me glad your momma tagged along on this trip. She seems to add a lot of interesting side stories to your TRs!! :rotfl::lmao:
She tends to follow along with alot of my wishes on these trips but when she does come out with something it tends to be a line that stops you in your tracks and leaves you doing this :rotfl: It's great.

It really looks like a fun trip. I studied French in High School, so I've always been fascinated with Paris. I really want to see it in person sometime, but thanks for sharing the pictures!
My advice if you do visit is expect rudeness everywhere. What you read online is not lies. Other than that it's the same as anywhere you'll enjoy it if you make your own fun. The city is nice and it's nice to see things like the Eiffel Tower and Disney but WDW is still my fave :goodvibes

Aww, the Mickey Santa and Duffy are so cute! Love the other pics too.
Thanks. I love him.

What? I missed a mega-update yesterday and the day before! I'll check back in tonight when I can see pics! Can't wait. popcorn::
It's all just catch up stuff. :goodvibes

Glad to see you posting this here! Bring on the pictures!

Thanks I'll have another update soon. I'm just playing catch up with the dvd bit and want to see what the video of bonfire night is like to see if I can get more pics of it from the video :)

Subbi! I've only got to the end of your first park day so far!

I had similar issues over 2011/12 and my DLRP trip (not quite Orlando, but still Disney magic) had the same effect for me. Its wonderful to look at themeing and the fireworks and consciously realise "I'm happy!".:goodvibes

Welcome. :wave2:
You have lots to read :goodvibes

WDW has my heart I think :lovestruc

Day 2, part 7:

So when I left you Momma had a voucher for a free hot drink and wanted tea so we were wandering towards one of the restaurants that she could redeem her voucher at. It was fairly close as well because Casey's Corner was one of the places she could redeem her voucher. She got her tea and a brioche, and me?... I had been thinking about getting the souvenir mug before I went to Paris. When I go to Seaworld it's kind of a tradition to get the new mug and I figured maybe I'd get a Disney one this time. I had seen the souvenir mug though, they were the ones to keep the drinks warm and the common one around the park was black with some green and purple design and a few characters and it didn't really appeal to me. In Casey's Corner though I spotted two things first they had an offer that you could get the mug which was 6.99 and a Brioche Fourre which was 3.99 for 7.99 together, it seemed like a good offer. Secondly I spotted a different mug. I asked if I had to get the black mug or could I have one of the mugs that Casey's had with the offer and they said I could have the other one so I got me a new Duffy mug:

Everything tastes better in a Duffy mug :lovestruc
The Brioche had a hazelnut filling and a little pic of Mickey Mouse on top:

It's a bad pic but you get the idea! Casey's also had their own Christmas tree:
DSCF0220_zps42d35978.jpg

Once we had our snack and drinks we took a back door out of Casey's and headed towards the park exit. In Disneyland Paris on either side of Main Street USA behind the shops are these covered in walk-ways or arcades as they are called. They were handy to by-pass the crowd and stay dry if it rained. One side was called the Discovery Arcade and the second side was the Liberty Arcade:

Funny enough there was displays with Lady Liberty in them as well:
DSCF0225_zpsfe25be7e.jpg

The shops all had window displays facing into the arcades as well:

As we were wandering towards the exit we wandered in and out of the shops to pin trade as we went. With one last goodbye for now to the Christmas tree we left and headed for the Disney Village:

We had a little time to kill so we wandered through some more shops. Momma wanted to pick up my graduation present request which was Copper and Todd:
SAM_5031_zps0bc91bef.jpg

I liked them because I've never seen plushies of them before so Momma picked those up and went to pay and the CM that served her asked were they for her grandchildren so she went, I haven't decided who they are for yet. He asked her how many grandchildren she had and she said 4, so he gave her two packets of Mickey head lollipops for free to divide between her grandchildren. Score bags Momma got pixie dusted!!! (the grandchildren didn't get those lollipops after either... I got most of them:littleangel:) After that we wandered through a few more shops admiring the 20th anniversary merchandise:

We noticed that every shop we went into we were beeping going in the doors so we left and went through the stuff we had bought and Momma found a security tag still on Coppers ear so we went back to the shop we bought them in showed the receipt and got the tag removed before someone tried to say we stole it. After that we headed towards Lake Disney at the back of the Disney Village and walked around to the Sequoia lodge side which is one of the resorts and there I staked out a spot for the next show. In Disneyland Paris between the end of the Halloween season and the start of the Christmas season they have Mickey's Magical Fireworks and Bonfire nights on Lake Disney. We picked a spot where I had read the view would be good and it never really got to busy. It was funny though Momma and I were standing talking and singing (well I was singing I have to entertain myself somehow :confused3) and this dude came over and stood at the far side of Momma. We think he was drunk because he was kind of swaying back and forth and then at one stage we looked at him and he had his eyes closed. I was wondering how he intended to watch the fireworks through closed eyes. Anyways back to the show. Mickey's Magical Fireworks and Bonfire was jaw-droppingly good. It was one of those shows where you are not sure where to point your camera next. There was fireworks, fire, lasers and Mickey and Minnie going across the lake on a little boat just for good measure it was amazing!!!

Fire:

Oh yeah and as if the fire, lasers and fireworks weren't enough they also projected swirly images onto the Characters in Flight balloon:

After being pleasantly surprised with the fireworks show we wandered back through the Disney Village towards our bus stop admiring the windows along the way:
DSCF0241_zps13b4d7b2.jpg

The bus stop at this stage was a crazy as the character mobs. Too many people trying to fit on one bus and nobody there to control the crowd. We hung back until there was less people because that many people crammed onto one bus kinda freaked the two of us out. Once we got back we had some left over snacks and I put up the status, "tomorrow I'm bringing a frying pan out with me" on facebook. I was not impressed with the rudeness but had a fun day regardless and now I was ready for sleepy time.

Next up: The Wonderful World of Disney

The Duffy mug is darling! Someone on facebook was showing me their Sally Mae bear. I sure wish Duffy took off here as he has in Japan!

That looks like such a cool show. I love the image on the characters in flight balloon. Very cool.

Cute duffy mug and plushes. Score on the extra candy! :rotfl:

I love it :lovestruc Duffy isn't popular in Paris at all they have taken him out of the park there unless it's a special occasion like Christmas or Halloween. I love him though minute I saw the mug I had to have it :)

I've seen her on ebay. She's cute but I don't want to pay the price for her on ebay. If she ever comes to WDW I'm sure my Duffy will have a girlfriend though :)

It was really good. I wasn't expecting it to be as good because I couldn't find alot of information about it online it was brill though. The projections looked cool as well.

I know it's so cool when you get pixie dusted. I loved the different plushies over there like Copper and Todd they also had one of the red aliens from Lilo and Stitch series I can't remember his name at the mo though.

Love the mug...so perfect for you! And great pixie dust score with the suckers! Love the picture of Mickey and Minnie in the boat.

Love the mug...so perfect for you!
I love it. I think it's prob the most used mug in the house right now :goodvibes

And great pixie dust score with the suckers!
That was so cool. I was actually going to buy them as a treat and then she got them free. They were yummy as well... but then anything shaped like Mickey Mouse is going to win my approval easily anyway :rotfl:

Love the picture of Mickey and Minnie in the boat.
That was taken from the video camera.. It happened so fast it was kind of hard to catch them unless you had the video running

Sounds like the day ended well. Except for the bus situation! You snack sounds yummy and the mug is cute!

The Bonfire night show was amazing. The buses were as the character mobs ridiculous. In WDW after the MVMCP they had CM's controlling the crowd at the buses. WDW seems to be more organised in every aspect of their parks than DLP in general.

You snack sounds yummy and the mug is cute!
It was nice and I love my Duffy mug. Most used mug in the house :lovestruc

I was in the Disney store again. :goodvibes I spent to much again. :rolleyes1
They had a sale on what was I meant to do :littleangel:
They've decorated their windows again. This time it's in celebration of Duffy's arrival at the Disney store. They have instore events like Duffy Storytime and stuff as well guess they trying to up his popularity... the windows are cute though:

I loved it. It's actually all one display but because of the way the window is divided up had to take it as two pictures. I got the sailor outfit and the French outfit with the 30 inch Duffy in 2011 the outfits were buy one get one half price with the 30 inch Duffy and then we had the 20% off voucher as well. Took ages to pic the two outfits though because there was 4 I wanted :rotfl:
