70 to Freezing in 7 hours. A Nov/Dec 2011 trip report. Updated 4/28

Oh oh oh I meant to tell y'all. Most of you that follow my trip reports know I do Irish dancing. A year and a half ago I changed to an adults dance class in Dublin. The guy that is meant to be teaching the class hasn't been there since I started, I'm not complaining the teachers are fab like BUT I was reading the Irish dancing magazine recently and there was a little bit in it about the guy that is meant to be teaching the class... It only turns out he is the one who choreographs the dance show for Raglan Road in DTD Orlando :goodvibes

That is WAY TOO cool!!! You will have to let us know if he shows up!

Well, then I guess for that reason, and only that reason, we can excuse him for not being at your class. That's really neat.

Great updates. I think I am caught up now. It's really neat to see how similar and different the other parks are. Very cool about the dance teacher. Too bad he hasn't been there since you've been there. I didn't know there were dancers at Raglan Road at DTD. The pin trading sounds strange. Maybe they were picking pins for themselves? I'll be interested to see how your trip to guest services went.

So, what I'm hearing is you miss Florida......:goodvibes LOL,

I understand, I'm going through the Disney withdrawals right now. :(

The shoppes all look so beautiful with the decor. Its neat to see the different shows they have there, and how it looks so different, yet so similar.

Good Luck in the Beauty & Beast dance!:thumbsup2

It sounds like you need that frying pan for "encouragement" to trade pins with the French CMs... :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I shall lol. At the moment we're being taught by a guy who was a former lead from Riverdance so I'm happy... slightly scared but happy :rotfl:

I know how cool plus I get to use it as a connection to Disney just because I want to :goodvibes

It is cool to see the similarities but then I also like the stuff that WDW doesn't have like the Storybook boats and their spinning platform of death :rotfl:

I've read about people going to Raglan Road before and there being a show on. I've only seen clips of it though. People that have been all seem to have the same comment... the dancers are loud :rotfl: Our "hard shoes" are a bit like tap shoes except prob louder :)

I think they were. Some of them examined the pins when you handed them over as well. I was waiting for someone to tell me one of my pins wasn't good enough or something :confused3

I'll be interested to see how your trip to guest services went.
I am saving that until the very very end.

How'd you guess? I need to get back there but nobody will come with me :(

The decorations were nice, although not as many as WDW. Walt Disney Studios is tiny compared to the Florida parks but it's kind of similar to DHS with it's theming and shows.... well some of them anyway.

Good Luck in the Beauty & Beast dance!:thumbsup2
Thanks.. another weeks rota went up and i'm good to go to rehearsals for another week. If I do manage to do the show I'll be on stage for my birthday :goodvibes At the moment though the songs are stuck in my read rotating between "be our guest, be our guest, our command is your resquest." and "now it's no wonder that her name means beauty, her looks have got no parallel."

It sounds like you need that frying pan for "encouragement" to trade pins with the French CMs... :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:
Definately.. If anyone is thinking of going to Paris my one piece of advice would be bring a frying pan :)

I am so glad I wasn't as far behind as I thought I was.
I heard good things about both those shows. I would love to see them myself, but pretty doubtful.

How cool that the guy has some Disney ties!

Animagique was my favourite but only because it had some very catchy music and Mickey Mouse of course :)

Yeah so next time I apply to Raglan Road I may just mention this in the cover letter lol!

Disney studios looks so cool. Very similar to Hollywood studios, but with the right amount of uniqueness.

I always enjoy seeing Christmas decorations about a month after Christmas is over. So cool!

Wait til I get to the other side of the park. WDW needs what was at the other side of this park :)

I love the Christmas Decorations. Just seeing them makes me smile :)

I could fold some clothes and put them away OR I could do an update:

Day 3, part 3:

So when I left you we were headed down Hollywood Boulevard towards our next destination which was The Studio Tram Tour. It's pretty similar to the Backlot Express tour in DHS except it doesn't have the part with the boats and water at the start. Instead it has a London accident scene at the end. The props are a little different as well.

While we were waiting in line I was admiring the little birds in the trees and asked Momma if she was nervous being so close to the birds after the one used her as a toilet in Animal Kingdom lol!

We eventually got onto the Tram and started our tour "behind the magic." From the set of Dinosaur:

Paris was cold when we were there. We were lucky as it was mostly dry but it was very cold so when the set went on fire it was a very welcome fire:

Pity all the water had to come and kill the heat:

Lookie it's the gargoyles from Hunchback of Notre Dame:

So then the different bit:

The tram drove into the London street and then there were sirens and havoc was reeked on the Streets of London:

SAM_4422_zps6ccd7ad9.jpg

Then on the way back to the start they of course had movie cars. These two were my favourite:

The only slightly negative I'd say is how repetitive it was. Instead of doing a circle like DHS this one you saw the same things on the way to each big set. The plus side of that was if you missed the photos the first time you had a second chance to take them though.
So back where we started on Hollywood Boulevard it was nearing parade time plus we were freezing. I had an extra top and leggings in my bag and Momma had an extra vest or something so we popped into the toilets to put on more clothes and when we came out we spotted this:
SAM_4430_zps15bc807d.jpg

Not the Hollywood sign. I was "pretending" to take a picture of that so I could discreetly get a pic of the two girls in the onesie pj's. Later in the day I spotted them again with an older woman and she had a onesie pj's on as well. Well it's different lol. On the other side of our view I spotted these on the wall which I thought were kind of cool:

After that we strolled up the road towards the parade route. I stopped to pin trade along the way and had a much more normal pin trading experience than the mornings trade. We got our place for the parade and then the usual stuff went on, well usual for DLP at least, we were there early and just as the parade was about to start people came up and started trying to shove their kids in front of us. The parade in Walt Disney Studios is called The Disney's Stars 'n' Cars parade and it pretty much did exactly what it said on the tin. It was Disney stars in themed cars with a Hollywood theme thrown in here and there for good measure:

Stitch was the funniest. He was being bold. He was picking his nose and wiping it in the palm tree beside him:

and you can't end the parade without Mickey and Minnie Mouse:

Next up: A proper queue and a Playland!

That parade looks great. Gross about Stitch though. :rotfl2:

I don't mind kids going in front so much late, it's when the adults do it too. I once had a lady who asked if her kid could squeeze up front and then she let 5 kids up there and squished her big butt up there too. That annoyed a lot of people!

I don't mind letting the kids in when they are doing it politely but when they kinda just go and shove them in regardless that's when I start pushing back :littleangel:

Yeah, we've been late before and I have asked, if not offered and if we can't then we can't, but most will let her go up and sit down.

I will let kids shorter than me stand in front when they do it nicely. So long as I can get my view and pictures of the parade I'm happy. Just not when they shove in lol

I noticed the girls in the jammies right away! :lmao:

The parade looks fun. I used to like it when they did the similar car parade at DHS.

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Interesting photos. That tanker truck looks somewhat familiar! I didn't realize they had a ride kind of like the one at DHS in Paris.

Thanks :)
Yeah the bit with the truck and water is the same and the trams have similar cheesey people talking about movies other than that the subtle differences are just the props and the London scene
