70 to Freezing in 7 hours. A Nov/Dec 2011 trip report. Updated 4/28

Okie two days ago I had loads of work to try catch up on but spent last night editing one show and then college cancelled lectures today so spent all of today editing the rest of what I had for the second show now waiting on whatever was recorded tonight to be sent my way. Did I mention I do work experience in a radio station and that's what all that is for. College wise I have two essays due both with pretty much exactly the same subject but worded differently in the question. One essay is 3000 words the other one is 2500 but I finished the 3000 words of drivel one only have to type it now and will try do the other one tomorrow since it's pretty much the same as the first one. Soooooooooo to celebrate I can do another update yay! (I just can't stay away :rotfl: )

Day 3, Part 10:

So firstly I forgot to mention in the last part when we went for food at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. In the Restaurants I'm never sure whether they'd serve me a kids meal since they're for guests under ten or whatever so usually I tell Momma what I want, give her monies and she goes up and orders the food for both of us while I go off and find a seat for us. So we did all that and I was sitting at a nice table near the wall gazing at the pretty castle and a CM came up and went sorry but you can't sit here. I was kinda like sorry what? She went if you don't have food you can't sit down. So I was like oh yeah no worries my Momma is getting the food now she's in the queue you see that lady there (pointing at Momma) see she's just getting the tray now. Cm says sorry but you'll have to get up and wait outside the seating area until she has brought the food over or my boss will give out to me. Confused much  I was too but I decided not to keep up a conversation that was hurting my head it confused me so much so I got up and went over to walk my mother to the seating area since she had the tray at that point!!!

Anyways back to the moment when I left off we were heading towards main street debating on whether we would be able to come back another night to tape the parade and fireworks since the video camera had gone dead. I had done the schedule of where we needed to go everyday in order to see everything or as much as we could and I wasn't sure that we would have another chance to see Wishes and the Parade. Certainly if we were to come back we would have to give up seeing or doing something else so we decided to stay just in case. We got a place on an extremely crowded hub (the park just seemed to get busier and busier as the night went on) and then we just waited. I took pics of the castle to amuse myself it was just so pretty:
DSCF2289.jpg

DSCF2293.jpg

Then the Magic, Memories and You started. We'd never seen this before and it looks so much better in Real life than on the You tube videos. My camera didn't really take good pics of it from where we were:
DSCF2294.jpg

Momma said she thought she saw us on one side of the castle at one point as well but I didn't see it.
Next was wishes and I just love this show everytime that cute little starlight star bright song starts I want to cry I just love it so much. Again the pics aren't wonderful but whatever:
DSCF9130.jpg

DSCF9131.jpg

In the middle of wishes though we had a surprise because is it a bird is it a plane no... Tinkerbell flew out of the castle and down towards Tomorrowland. Again was not expecting that so I'd share the picture but it was pretty much a green streak in the sky as I was not prepared for it :rotfl: Again I think this was a special happening for the weekend after Thanksgiving :confused3 Anyways back to the wishes pics my fave part is when the castle has the stars on from Sorcerors Apprentice:
DSCF2292.jpg

Then they went and turned the sparkly lights back on and just made it even prettier:
DSCF9137.jpg

and big finale:
DSCF9138.jpg

Next Parade was at 11 so we decided to wait it out since the hub was clearing a bit after wishes and we managed to get a curb to sit on. I watched more of Beethoven on my ipod while I waited and I seem to remember Momma got 40 winks leaning on my shoulder :rotfl: I also took more pics of the pretty castle:
DSCF9120.jpg

DSCF9140.jpg

It was a little silly with the timing of Magic, Memories and You because if you wanted to get a place for Wishes at 10 you ended up seeing the 9.45 MMAY and then if you waited for the second parade which was at 11 you saw MMAY a second time at 10.35. The pic didn't get any better the second time:
DSCF9124.jpg

and I just noticed all those pictures are castle pics love it :rotfl:

Next up it's all about where you sit.

That's frustrating about the CM @ Tomorrowland Terrace. I had the same thing happen to us at Pinocchio Village Haus.

Those are such pretty pics of the castle! I always love looking at the castle but it looks especially magical during Christmas, doesn't it?

Tinker bell is a regular. She (or sometimes it's a he) does it every night as long as the winds are good.
I don't think I have seen her though as we usually don't stop to stand for wishes. I think we did it once and were off toe the side where we couldn't see well.

That CM sounds like a witch...with a capital B.

I think I had the same problem as you and food...forgetting to take a picture before I started eating. I never really got my family to buy into the idea of taking pictures of food...they looked at me like I was crazy! Sorry about the seating thing and the CM. I don't understand why it is such an issue about holding a table when you can see the person in line. :confused3

Loving all your pictures of the castle...I have to say I must have taken hundreds between the castle and wishes! Tink does fly most nights...depending on the weather. I learned that when I researched my first trip a couple of years ago! Too cool...I would hate to have her job!

I always love Wishes. I'm glad you got to see it... and Tink. :thumbsup2 :lmao:

I'm sorry the CM tried to move you. I've been hearing that they do that once in a while at some quick service places when it is busy though.

I have never seen her before and totally wasn't expecting to see her either.
yeah that CM was just weird.

I know I love that castle so much :lovestruc

I remembered most times and Momma let me take pics of hers even though she thought it was weird. She knew it was for trip report purposes though. That's what confused me it wasn't busy and Momma was at the counter waiting for them to give her the tray. It wasn't like it was packed with people and she was at the back of the line she was at the tray counter!

I've never seen Tinkerbell fly before. Maybe we were standing in the wrong place before because we usually go at warmer times of the year.

Wishes are my favourite fireworks and Tink was an added surprise :)

That was it though it wasn't busy from what I remember Momma was the only one in line and she was at the tray counter.

Geeze, if it wasn't even crowded, it is just ridiculous for them to worry about that.

I know I think the CM was just looking for something to do. :confused3 I have never heard of that before that you couldn't sit in one of the counter service places until you had food what about families with a tonne of kids. Would it not be alot easier for Mommy or Daddy to get everyones order while the other one brought the kids to sit down instead of two parents trying to contend with kids and get food at the same time. :confused3

Real life update. Remember I was saying bout our essays and college work. One of the essays said at top 3000 word dissertation and at bottom of page it said 2000. Most of us presumed 3000 words and since it's due next friday at this stage most of us have it written yeah they told us yesterday there was a typo there and it should be 2000 words :headache: They did say if we'd written already then leave it at 3000 words but that's so many words I needn't have stressed over  oh well.

We finished college a bit early today so I had a stroll through some of the shops while I was waiting for train and we have a shop called Pennies over here that sell cheaper clothes than the brand name shops as such but they have character t-shirts (i got loads in there for my hols before) but I found this one today and of course it came home with me:

I also have a question for y'all. I'm thinking of later in the year and how to make a possible Disney related trip. One of the ideas in my head right now is a solo trip but I know I'd feel safer on Disney property than international drive but I also know I'd like to visit Seaworld, Universal and The outlets so does anyone know a cheapish option to get to those places and back from Disney Property?

Only during holiday times or when crowd prediction levels are high do they do that. I haven't ever been there for that, but I have read it on many TRs.

You can take a Mears taxi from your resort to those other places. The cheapest way to go is the Lynx bus. But I wouldn't take the bus, I'd rather pay more and use a taxi.

I have never seen that happen before. Plus it really surprised me because the palce really wasn't that busy at the time. Like Momma was literally the only person in line.

I was thinking that was probably the way. Will have to see what happens. We're discussing a few holiday options at the mo so we'll have to see which one happens. :goodvibes

I thought I might as well try finish Day 3 since I'm avoiding any real work so...

Day 3, Part 11:
When I left off we were waiting for Main Street Electrical Parade to start. Soon after The MMAY ended we started to hear MSEP music and pretty lights started coming towards us from Main Street and since the video camera wasn't working for me I took lots of pictures instead:
DSCF9142.jpg

DSCF9143.jpg

We were sitting on a curb just in front of the bridge where people would come out of Tomorrowland onto the hub so if you looked left (facing the street) I could get pretty pics like this:
DSCF9146.jpg

but if you looked right (facing the street) I could get prettier pics like this:
DSCF9156.jpg

See it's all about where you sit :goodvibes

We did notice on that Float that some of the fireworks weren’t lighting that night for some reason anyways last but not least of the parade pics:
DSCF9190.jpg

After the parade we headed down Main Street of course taking pictures on the way:

Confectionary shop windows:

DSCF9197.jpg

I love the way Daisy is dressed in the same Christmas outfit that the CM’s were wearing.
We went into the Emporium after that because I wanted to pick up a new friend for Angel (trip mascot.) OMG it was so busy in the Emporium and some people were pushing past trying to grab things from shelves as if they were going out of business in the morning. Crazy stuff for 11.30 at night! Anyway I managed to squeeze through the masses and get what I wanted before we headed out for the Ferry. I took a pic of the decorations on the way out as well:
DSCF9199.jpg

I seem to remember that since we left the park at 11.30 and it wasn’t closed until 12 we got out slightly ahead of the masses so when we got to the Ferry back to Ticket and Transportation it was just arriving and there wasn’t a huge crowd so we hopped right on. From Ticket and Transportation we got a taxi back to our hotel. I may have finished the Beethoven movie I’d been watching on my ipod in the taxi and once back in the hotel I introduced Angel to his new friend:
IMG_0548.jpg

Before I introduced myself to the pillows. It was a long fun filled day!
Momma told me after only thing that bothered her was her feet. She didn’t really like the Dapper Dans but liked their instruments and I had noted in my trip diary when I was pre-planning the trip the internet told me that the park would be open until 10 but the internet lied because the park was open until 12 two extra hours of fun.

Next up Dollars burning a hole in your pocket?! No problemo!

Sorry you had to move your seat while waiting for food. I had heard they were doing that, but I thought it was more to make sure that people who brought food into the park didn't use up the seats for guests buying food from counter service places. She should have let you stay with your Mom just getting the food so quickly!

Nice photos of the MSEP! I love how the Castle is in the background! You have given me inspiration for next time!

It was really weird but I wasn't in the humour to argue the point with her at that stage in the day.

Thank you. I think I stole the idea off one of Tim's (thats nice) trip reports. I know I saw pics where someone had being standing on the Hub taking parade pics and got the castle in the background and I thought I should look into that for next trip :goodvibes it made for very pretty pictures. My fave two are the critters on their way up to castle and the Pumpkin heading to the castle ball :)

What a fabulous day y'all had! :goodvibes

You got some great pictures of MSEP! You really ended up getting some great parade spots for picture taking! :thumbsup2

I saw your post before the update about doing a solo trip & how to get to Universal, shopping, etc. I think someone else suggested it but I will 2nd the Mears suggestion. We used them for transportation to/from Universal in Dec. 2010 & it was economical, easy & quick.

Yes!! Love the castle in the backround of your pictures, especially since it's the ice castle!!

I know it has already been said, but the msep pictures with the castle lit up in the background are incredible.

Your Mickey Irish T-shirt is adorable!

I traveled to WDW solo, but I didn't venture off property. I know there are options for getting around and I guess you could always splurge for a cab. I bet you can find the info you want in the transportation section of the boards.

Love, love. love your parade pictures. They make me feel like I am right there watching. Great job!

OMG...that picture of the castle and the mushroom has to be the most incredible picture I have seen of the parade! You need to be in photography...great eye and I must say great camera!

Thank you :) Yup it was a fun day. I love the Magic Kingdom. Momma says when I get to Disney it's like someone turns on a light bulb that wasn't on all year round and I beam with happiness :)

Yeah I figured Taxi but that might get expensive. Maybe I'll stay on international drive for a few days while I do those if i do the solo trip :confused3

Thank you both. That castle is so pretty and even prettier with the icey lights on it. I love those pics :)

Thanks. I have loads of Disney t-shirts now but I couldn't resist that one :goodvibes

Thank you. That is one of my fave pics. Also love the way the pumpkin looks kinda like it's going up to the castle for the ball. I have thought about doing a photography course at some stage. I'm always taking pics. That camera is only a little digital camera.
