Hello folks!

I think I am understanding but I want to check. Our first cruise is in March and after researching we went with a 7 night and part of that decision was getting to experience the rotational dinning on a longer cruise.

We are on the Magic 7 night from Galveston to San Juan.

If I understand correctly we will do each restraunt twice and one a third time.

For animators pallet we should get to do the drawing/animation show the second night there OR the third time there if our second or first time falls on pirate night.

Is this correct?

So, I believe you're correct; the one odd night will most likely be Pirate Night, which has a special menu.

I did a 7 night Norwegian Fjords on The Magic in 2022. This was my dining rotation
  1. Animators Palate = Sorcerer Mickey
  2. Rapunzel’s Royal Table = Thugs and Rapunzel celebrating her birthday
  3. Lumiere's
  4. Animators Palate = Drawn To Magic Show
  5. Animators Palate = Theme Night
  6. Rapunzel’s Royal Table = Lantern Show
  7. Lumiere's

We just sailed a few weeks ago on a 7 night eastern on the fantasy. Usually on the 7 night cruises, on pirate night, you stay in the MDR where you dined the night before. So 2 nights in one MDR.

A few weeks ago, we did not have that schedule. We rotated thru all restaurants. We had:

EG
RC
AP
EG
RC
AP
EG

We are fine with either way - we always dine at Palo two nights.

Interesting, I have been on several 7-night Caribbean cruises and have never dined in the same MDE two nights in a row (what you described at the beginning of your comment. I've always had the latter schedule 1231231, where you cycle through the MDRs twice and then get a third night in the first MDR you visited. In several 7-night cruises, that's always been my experience.

We sail the fantasy 3-4 times per year. Our may cruise had the 2 nights in the same MDR rotation.

Interesting! I've sailed the Fantasy several times in the past few years and had the opposite.

Are your Fantasy sailing usually Western Caribbean?

How do y’all remember dining rotations? Sure, in the old days, it was printed on the KTTW card, so not memory, but access to info.

I have no idea where+night I ate on any cruise. Just that there was dinner ever night.

I do have some memories of the general area of my table in various MDRs, but not necessarily linked to which cruise - and definitely not which night.

Trip reports :) I have the ones I wrote here on the Dis bookmarked. I also have scrapbooks and journals. Ive been doing it for years, long before I joined the Dis.

I remember the latest cruise because it was just a few weeks ago. I also remember the May cruise because we had back to back nights in EG. And we dislike EG so much.

We always seem to get 3 nights in EG, our least favorite MDR. DCL’s file on us must state that we love EG - no other way to explain getting 3 nights there almost every cruise.

EG is my least favorite MDR in all the ships, too. I call it the convention center luncheon room.

We were seated in the round tables once, with our choice of waiter. And I had a really nice location by a window, at a table by myself, just after Covid. But those don’t redeem it.

And while I hear it has a show, it must be unmemorable. For the record, I am happy without a show.

I did enjoy the days in Lumiere’s when Beauty and the Beast (probably had reverted to human prince) came in the entrance and down the stairs, dancing - and leaving. That went well with the theme. If there was more to that show, I forgot that, too.

I do remember a lot of the food I have eaten. Because I order nearly the same thing every cruise.

Next cruise in Fantasy - I’ll watch and see if they double/triple me into Enchanted Garden!

You're correct. Disney schedules pirate night for the restaurant you have 3 dinners in, so you still get to do both Animator's Palate activities.

Yes, there were other CM dancers (dressed for the ball) and Beauty & Beast entered and danced

I just got off the Fantasy 7 night yesterday and this was not the case. My rotation was EG, RC (formal), AP (halloween), EG (pirate), RC, AP, EG. Our first AP was the Crush show, Pirate Night in Enchanted Garden was just the special menu, and then the second AP night was the drawing show.
