Hello!

Which resorts need to be booked at the 11 month mark to get what you want.
I will be booking a studio but still debating on which resort. It's cheaper for me to book at the 7 month mark but wasn't sure which resorts would need to be booked at 11

Thank you!

If you are looking for the lowest cost to rent points, you will want to reserve at the 11 month mark for a trip no matter what time of the year. Several of the resorts have Standard View villas which are significantly lower in point requirements than the other views at that resort. These go very quickly as they are a good value. This is especially true of the studios.

Ok so pretty much the standard studios go quickly! Good to know!
Not always the case. Standard studios at SSR might not go as quickly as all the villas at BWV or BCV during Fall Frenzy. If you are looking at renting points, you have a better shot at getting what you want at 11 months out. If you are an owner, you can only book your home resort at 11 months out.

Thank you! We will be renting points

Owners definitely capitalize on getting the least expensive rooms booked early so if you want to wait till 7 months, plan on views that are more common.

But, as mentioned, if you are trying to secure a less expensive points room, 11 months is your best bet.

Thank you everyone!!!
You can’t get (studios) AKL value or club at 7mos, CCV, GFV pretty much all the time. December is tough across the board. All of October.

If you’re renting anyway, it’s worth the extra couple bucks to choose your resort. I just rented for food festival at BWV in October because it’s the only way to guarantee Epcot resorts even as a member. I made sure I was locked and loaded on the day. Still couldn’t get Boardwalk View- it was gone before the window even opened.

AKL Kidani Savannah view and SSR are your safer bets for 7 mos.

I've never tried SSR yet, but personally if the cost for AKL Savannah view was only 25% more, I'd probably go with that. SSR feels overpriced compared to others for me.

For a week during 'dream season':
AKL Sav 123pts
SSR 99pts (if only preferred view's left - 113 pts, then I'd 9000% go AKL Sav)

From late September through early January as a renter, you will not find that BLT Standard or BWV standard are available to renters. Those units are difficult to get, and owners who want them jump through a bunch of hoops in order to secure them. Its uncertain even for an owner - and a LOT of extra work. To do it for a renter, with no certainty of success, is not something most owners will be willing to do. If you see that there are standard view rooms, plan on booking preferred. You can ask the owner to book standard if available, but it isn't likely to be.

SSR is getting a total refresh right now starting in preferred room. Between that and the easy walk from preferred view to Disney Springs make SSR a contender. The renovation looks amazing and DS is so fun now. Don’t count it out.

I would never count it out :D All of DVC are lovely in their way, and SSR has unique positives like you mention. I have zero complaints about any recent renov's.
But if I had to choose between 123pts AKL Sav or 113pts SSR, Savannah view experience is just so awesome for only 10 more points.

See, this is why I love DVC! Everyone has so many choices and each person sees things differently.

For me, seeing animals every morning does nothing for me. I never even liked going to the zoo..! Haha.

But I love that others do and if AKV gives you that excitement, then yeah!💛

Waking up at AKL to have coffee on the balcony overlooking the Savannah was a unique refreshing start to our day, pure joy watching the animals jump around and do their thing. There aren't many places to experience this kind of view from the privacy of your room. To us it perfectly contrasted the hectic parks. Some say they didn't enjoy the smell, etc. Different Strokes is right :D

DVC variety is also great to accommodate different trip styles thru stages in life. Our preferences can continue changing.
