Have enjoyed reading discussions on these boards in the past....now I have a question. I own points at both the Beach Club and Old Key West. If I wanted to make a reservation within the 7 month window, could I use points left at say the Beach Club for that use year and combine them with points from Old Key West that I have for that use year (either banked or not banked). I guess my question is when you are within the 7 month window for booking can you combine both resort points for a single reservation?

Yes, that works just fine! At 7 months all points are the same. Unless they're holding points, but that's another can of worms.

I agree as long as they are the same use year and under one general contract. It's only partly true otherwise.

Yes. The OP stipulated that was the case as far as use year goes. I hadn't thought about 2 different contract numbers, thanks for pointing that out.

It's actually workable in the case of two use years, just more complicated.

Here is a newbie question. Why would it be more difficult with different use year??? I thought UY did not matter @ 7 month window. What am I missing here?

Thanks as always ::yes::

If you have two different use years, you have at least two completely separate contract numbers and MS may have to transfer points between contracts to actually make the reservation. If the contracts are for the same use year and resort, MS (actually the DVC reservations system) can treat the two contracts as though they were just one for reservation purposes. System can't do this if the contracts are different use years.

There is not usually any problems for members with more than one use year in aking reservations. MS is quite understanding and willing to transfer between contracts as needed to accomodate the member for reservation purposes. At least that is my understanding.

Best wishes -

That is correct, it is workable. And they will usually transfer even banked or borrowed points in this situation. But you still have the hassle of doing it and also if the use years are very far apart, coordinating when the points are available and when they expire.

Thanks to everyone for your replies to my question...I knew someone would know the answer. Thanks again.
