Now that we have the ability to have split stays be all in one reservation, is it possible for me to book all portions of a split stay at the 7-month window, or do I have to wait for each resort to open up to me at the various 7-month times?

You can always book anywhere at 7 months - nothing has changed relative to that. 7 months out is 7 months out - no matter what resort you're trying to book.

I understand that. My question is can I book a full split stay reservation at the first possible date of the 7 month window.

For example, if today is my 7-month window, can I book a split stay starting at OKW then moving to BCV a week later, or do I have to wait until the 7-month window opens a week later at BCV?

I get it now -didn't understand the question. And guess what - I don't know the answer to that for sure, but when you are moving resorts, I think it's still going to be considered 2 reservations that have to be booked separately, each at their own 7 month window from the start of that reservation.

Having done lots of split stays, I know for sure that vicki_c's right. Yes, they're considered 2 independent reservations, no linking at all.

Even with the new ability to have them all considered one resort with one reservation number?

Now, I forgot about that so never mind what I said. Last time I reserved a split stay was about 8 months ago (did a split stay last month).

I believe you would have to wait. It was reported on another post that a member wanted to split their reservation some days w/dining plan, some without. The second reservation could not be made until 7 months from that day.

Yes you have to wait until each "separate" reservation is at the 7 or 11 month window. I actually called today to book BLT for next Oct and I wanted my reservation split into 2 segements. I was only able to book the first segment today (3 nights) and I have to call back on Thursday to book the second segement (5 nights) since that will be the 11 month booking day for the start of the second segment.

We do it like this so we can now split the dining plan so we can do deluxe for a few days and then the regular dining plan, but also so maybe at 7 months we can swtich to some where else for the first 3 nights.

This is good to know. We were thinking of doing the DDP for a just a few nights next summer but don't want to change messing things up.

However, for 2012, we may do it so I make sure to book things that way from the start!
