We are planning to go to the Turtle Farm in Grand Cayman on our cruise in August. After that, I had considered stopping by the beach for a bit before we head back to the ship. Has anyone had any experience with going to 7 Mile Beach? How close is it? How long does it take to get there? Is there a public beach? Thanks for any insights!

All the beaches in Grand Cayman are public beaches. But you'll find various hotels/resorts/vendors can put loungers/cabanas (for a fee) on the beach in their immediate location. Not sure how close it was to the Turtle Farm, but, if you're on your own, I'm pretty sure you can find transportation to it.

We didn't go to the Turtle Farm, we just went straight to the beach from the port, but it wasn't far, maybe 10 mins? We took a van with a few other people and didn't pay much 5-10/person (can't remember if that was each way or RT tho). Once we got to the beach there was a snack stand, drink service on the beach (slow), and umbrella/chair rentals. It was very nice, but I don't have a whole lot in the Caribbean to compare it to.

There are many named beaches along 7 mile.

We planned to go to Tiki Beach on our Royal cruise, but laziness got in the way LOL.

it's near the port, you can prob pick up a taxi and get dropped off at the Royal Palms and pay a small fee to use their chairs on the beach

We stopped by the west bay docks after the turtle farm and has some beach time. We had the advantage that we rented a car, It is primitive but free.

We went to the Turtle farm in the morning, ate lunch there, and then took the public bus to 7 mile beach. The beach and turtle farm are on the same bus route. It was maybe 15 min ride if I remember correctly. Very easy.

we always go to Royal Palms. Crowded, but fine. Good bathrooms, showers, etc.
