7 Hours at MCO....WWYD

We arrrive 7 hours earlier than the rest of our family what should we do?
Stay at the airport?
Rent a car for a couple hours and tour around the airport? Whats around the airport?

Our rental home isnt ready until after four and we don't pick our rental van up until 4 anyway.

Can you pick up the van a little early? That seems like a long time to hang around. I would drive to WDW and back--go on the monorail, or go to DTD.

MCO is a great airport....but not for 7 hours. I would definitely rent a car and go somewhere. Or take a taxi to Florida Mall which is just 10 minutes away.

Dunno how much it is, but the Hyatt Regency right inside the airport offers day rooms. You could spend a few hours waiting for your friends there.

If you have the days on your tickets, I would grab a car, and go to the parks and/or Downtown Disney.

I would say it'll probably be less than an hour travel time (and I'm thinking roundtrip) so you'd have about 6 hours to do something. Why waste that time skulking about an airport?
