7 flights, 6 hotels, 1 cruise ship and a major stuff up...brace yourself UPDATE!

The Disneyland tickets all panned out, the extra 3 transactions dropped off my card overnight, and buying them through ARES I saved a little extra as well.

3 months, 3 weeks to go :thumbsup2

I'm trying to come up with cheap easy healthy meals for the next few months, wanna boost the spendings just in case :thumbsup2

Even if we have a crappy exchange I know most things are a bargain, and i'm pretty sure it'll be a while before we go back :(

This time in 16 weeks we'll be on the plane :woohoo:
Thats great news that the charges dropped of and i am starting to feel the same way i think it is time for us to have a holiday somewhere else:scared1: and possibly one a little less expensive:rolleyes1

our trip is in 27 more pays, or just over 6 months, which will fly by, which has me really stressing...
Would you like to swap i have 6 pays till the kids and i leave leave and that has to pay everything of :scared1:

I can give you cheap, cook once, eat over 2 nights recipes but they usually have rice or pasta and sometimes bacon and/or cheese so I don't think they are what you are looking for :rotfl::rotfl:

That is sounding a touch like our house at the moment at least whilst DH is away i can only serve him pasta or rice once a week and even that is a push.
Tonight is Spag bol which will be tomorrows lunch as well it would of been mac and cheese but we have no bacon or cheese left:eek:
Feel free to share some rice recipes i have 5 kilos that i need to use before we go away.:)

I actually love those type of recipes, but DH not so much :rolleyes1

We're hoping to add another bub to the brood in the next year or so, so this is a last hurrah so to speak

DH has 7 pays and i'm on weekly, but mine is a pittance really, mine is play money (although lately it's necessity money, so many bills!)

My DH is the same with food, he likes meat! And pasta has too many carbs :worship:

So, I really have to knuckle down and stop eating so much bad food, and maybe move my butt a little

best way to save $$ on food..invite yourself to other peoples places for dinner.........:sad2:

LOL thats what my sister and her DH do, or they raid my mums freezer :scared1:

Maybe I should just cut down what I eat :rolleyes1

Lose weight and save money

So much for saving money :lmao:

Off for a spot of shopping today, DS needs some winter clothes and my niece and nephews birthday coming up, so clothes it is and GAP is having 30% off everything today :thumbsup2

I was there yesterday and thought, naaa better not, but, if they need clothes we can't hold out for 3 months :lmao:

It's on sale, it's ok

Paid more off our WDW package today, it's coming down :thumbsup2

I'm getting nervous

I'm sort of wondering what if we don't like DW, is that weird?

What if it ruins our Disney experience?

Does anybody else get these feelings?

:yay:/:confused:

Nuh, I don't think it's weird. I was a bit apprehensive before we went. I think I had read so much on here, good and bad.
DH and I try not to have major expectations. I know everyone is different, but we really like going without a major plan and just taking each moment as it comes.
I'm ranting now. :rolleyes1

i also am having the same feelings. we love DLR so much. i would hate for WDW to be a let down. next year we're doing both wdw and dlr so hopefully we can appreciate both and try not to do a comparison...

DH bought a slow cooker on Friday..as we have the son and 3 GK, plus DS2 and GF are moving into the garage/ granny flat in July..so 8 hungry mouths to feed......

god bless Aidi.....:rotfl2:

I think this was posted in the wrong thread but I'm sure becpee won't mind ! You'll need more holidays for some alone time Karen!

We are loving ALDI, I used to be a brand snob, then figured out I love the toast sliced bread (.99c a loaf), the free range eggs fresher than the supermarket at about $3.50 a dozen (I eat so many eggs!) Fruit, great quality, rice 2kg. cheaper than chips! Milk, butter, yoghurt, frozen green vegies, the only thing I can't get that I use all the time is my favourite naan bread
I'm a convert!
So I now split my shopping but save a few dollars, pretty sure ALDI don't have their own bread making facilities, a loaf lasts about 2 days here :thumbsup2
BARGAIN!
What we save in food i'm pretty sure we're drinking in bourbon though LOL

I don't think it's weird at all we did not like WDW at all when we were there but when we got home we saw it in a different light. Even though I had spent hours and hours:scared1: reading on here we expected it to be just a bigger DL which it is most certainly not.
On saying that we are going back with a different perspective and buying 10 day non expiring tickets knowing that we want to go back and see it for Christmas one year.
I have told my kids they are going to have to learn to  it if they want to stay onsite our whole package at WDW with 2 rooms 12 nights is costing what it was going to cost for us to stay onsite at DL for 8 nights:confused3
The one thing we all agree on is we are not interested in Epcot and that DL will always be our favorite place:cloud9:

I know it's going to be different, probably alot different  so we just don't know what to expect at all.

DL will always hold a special place in my heart :cloud9:
We're stopping there for 2 days on the way home because we just couldn't go all that way and not visit, the feeling I get when I walk down DL Mainstreet is indescribable. I'm yet to see if I get that same feeling at WDW.
We'll be at WDW for 10 days, so I hope we like it

Just a couple of questions regarding the flight to Orlando.

Our flight arrives at LAX terminal 5 at 8:30am and we depart for Orlando at 10:30am with the same airline in terminal 5 (at this stage), so checkin will be done.
Taking into account we will need to clear customs, but luggage will be transferred by the airline will we have time to shower and freshen up at the airport or will we be pushed for time?

Any tips to make this a smooth transfer and also anything that will make us more comfortable? We've never been in transit so don't know how we'll be :scared1:

I think you will have to collect your luggage and then go through customs, then drop it in again.

IMO - 2hours is pretty tight - it takes a while just to get off the plane (especially if you are sitting up the back), then there is immigration, then luggage, then customs, then recheck - so I wouldnt imagine there will be much spare time.

For me I couldnt relax until I was seated outside the boarding gate of our connecting flight.

I don't want to have to do that

:scared1:

Damn it!

Yeah you have to go through customs (including your bags) on your first point of entry to the country.

If its any consolation, you can check them right through on return - but I think you are having a day or two at DLR if I remember correctly.

oh and as for WDW - be prepared that everything wont be perfect, well Disney itself is pretty close.

I havent been to DLR so cant compare - I was really knocked around by the heat and jetlag at WDW - so at the time felt like I was a walking zombie most of the time. I cant remember your schedule, but I think you have a couple of free days first up - this should help with the adjustment.

But its like childbirth - you only remember the good bits - and generally cant wait to go again!! :thumbsup2

Thats gonna be tight :scared1: but they should let us rush through (I hope)
We're gonna be running

I hope our luggage doesn't get stuck at the top of the chute like it did in Sydney a few years back, made us miss our flight...

Yeah, we have 3 days to adjust to Florida then heading on our cruise :thumbsup2 then back for 10 days to WDW.
I am so excited to escape this crappy weather :cool1:

Thanks for your help :)
