7 Dwarfs Mine Train is disappointing

Funny we found &DMT to be all those things.....hands down.

Certainty better then the new HP with MORE videos then ride! Not to mention that it continues to break down all the time.

Wow. We just back back a few weeks ago and visited WDW and USF. I am a HUGE WDW fan and even I have to admit all the HP at USF is amazing. There is no comparison with 7DMT and HP attractions. They are each their own. Each great is their own right.

Haven't rode it yet, but looking forward to it in October. I am glad it is tame, so that way I can share it with dd.

We rode it last week. I hadn't seen this thread yet, but I have to say that I was disappointed due to the lack of theming. The section with the dwarves is really cute, but there is NOTHING at the beginning and NOTHING at the end to indicate it's a Snow White-themed ride. Even just an audio blurb would be welcome. At the end of the ride, everyone in our car (not with our party) was saying, "Is that it?" :confused3 The actual movement of the ride was fine and right in line with what I had expected. (BTW, my expectations were based solely on Disney's own description of the ride, as I haven't had time to read this board lately.)

For young kids this ride is awesome!!! My DS2's absolute favorite ride! Only problem is I only fp'd it once and had to tell him it was 'broken' rest of trip because we weren't waiting an hour!

We got to try it out for the first time last week and really liked it. My grandson is just 2 1/2 but he's a roller coaster freak and this is one that has a little zip to it. Luckily, he just grazed by the height requirements and could ride it. He didn't quite make it on our August trip and was really disappointed. He was screaming and laughing and raising his hands over his head just like the big boys!:)

I was pretty happy- barnstormer over and over and over again was getting really old.

I saw no problem with the length of the ride. It's well themed and as someone else said, there aren't that many rides that younger kids who want more than the baby attractions can ride.

Not every new ride needs to be a mega thrill ride for teens and adults.

To me it's a tame version of Big Thunder Railroad with a little Pirates of the Caribbean thrown in (the cave). Not a horrible ride, but having finally gone on it in July for me if the line is longer than 20 minutes, I'll be skipping it.

I had read so much negative feedback before riding that I had pretty low expectations. But I was pleasantly surprised other than wishing the ride was longer. I'm sure it helped that I rode it during an early Sept. MNSSHP, so the waits were minimal.

I'm dissapointed that there are so many mixed reviews on this. I will experience it and report back - hopefully it's not too bad, I'm expecting a cute coaster with some great Seven Dwarfs themeing. :confused3

I don't think it was a bad ride at all, just go in not expecting it to be the greatest ride of your life.

I'm fine with it not being a thrill ride, and a tame kiddie coaster. That's not why I'm disappointed. I am disappointed because of how short the dark ride portion is.

I remember seeing 7DMT under construction back in Feb 2013 and reading some of the blog about it and saying to myself...bigger than Barnstormer but far smaller than BTMRR. I mean really, the physical layout of the ride is far smaller than BTMRR and with minimal height rise above the park surface, there is no way we are talking about anything approaching BTMRR.

To coin a new meaning for an old cliche...BTMRR = Mountain, 7DMT = mole hill.

I agree with the original poster. It's really short and not at all thrilling. Maybe that's what it was intended to be, but I don't think that is what was needed at Disney World. The parks need more thrilling rides. There are more than enough rides for the smaller kids. In my opinion, this ride is a poor attempt to create a ride that is similar to Splash Mountain, but it's not themed nearly as well and it is not nearly as thrilling. Big disappointment.

Really amazes me the expectations of *adults* thinking this was going to be a *thrill* type ride!! It's in 'kiddieland' folks and was always meant to be a family ride! :confused3

So happy it's exactly what it seemed they were portraying from the very beginning - :)

Wouldn't all of you expect a 'thrill' coaster ride to be put somewhere besides Fantasyland amongst all the other kiddie rides?? You could tell from the very beginning what it was 'not'! Why the huge disappointments?? JMO

We rode it for the first time last week and we really liked it. But then again the longest we waited was around 20 minutes standby right at closing. Thankfully we had several FPs for it. I thought it was short, but good. I loved the mine, we found ourselves singing Heigh-Ho!! a lot during the trip :)

The standby line for it was almost always insane. I don't think I would wait more than 30 minutes. When the line goes to normal (hopefully) I think that might help with the disappointment. I can only imagine how the people who waited in a 170 minute line on Saturday felt once they finally got to ride.

Who ever described this as "pirates meets big thunder meets Peter Pan?" I never heard anyone set that expectation. People have been coming to this ride with the wrong expectations from the beginning and then they are disappointed. Well, it's their own fault for thinking that there was going to be a thrill ride in the middle of fantasyland. That is a ridiculous assumption.

I love that ride!!! I think it's so much fun. But after reading all the complaints my expectations were really low and we were pleasantly surprised.

"Thrill" or not there's really no excuse for it being so short.

I would have enjoyed it, but the length is really ridiculous.

I am excited to ride it. I do NOT like thrill rides. I was terrified after getting off Rock N Roller coaster and never road another one after that
