I'm always amazed at people who have never been to NYC before. It's practically my backyard, I've been going there since I was a little girl. I take for granted how close it is. Let me know what you think of it!

Haha I think most people overlook what they have whens its in their backyard

Joining in for the fun! Hope you have a good time in NYC.

Thanks for joining in!!

I do Love your luggage!

Have a fun date day in NYC! I have always wanted to go. Maybe one day....

New York is no Disney World..I will shae my thoughts in my next post :) To be honest my luggage was very cheap and its shows by the quality of it, but I love having something obnoxious:laughing:

Can't wait to read all about your trip! Also hope you have fun in New York

Thank you!!

Ok its seems you are always following me. First you go to WDW a week after me now NYC too?? You better hope my next trip is a good one, because history is telling me you won't be too far behind :rotfl:

I made it!! Cant wait to read your report

Aww thanks so much for following me!!

Hi everyone!! I'm back..again! New York was lots of fun. We did all the predictable tourist things. I would post pictures but I only have like 5 since my wonderful husband dropped our camera in Central Park and it broke. Normal Amanda would have been very sad about this, but NYC Amanda had rode on a bus for 10 hours and was looking pretty scary...haha. But in all honesty we have wanted a new camera for a long time, but couldnt talk ourselves into spending the money when we had one that worked. So tada..its camera shopping time!!

New York is a great city. It was really neat to get to Times Square at 6:45 am and see all the lights without any of the craziness. Central Park was probably my favorite part. It was just much more of my personality. I'm not a "go out" love the city life kind of girl. So just having some peaceful quiet time walking with Brian and watching people play with their dogs was perfect. I really thought when we got home we would want to plan a longer trip but we both decided we seen everything we wanted to see and likely won't go back in the near future. I think if you are a person that loves to shop, it would be a great place, but as far as sight seeing I seen everything I wanted to see. I will admit I would have loved to have seen a Broadway show, but that is something we can do when a show travels...so its okay. At the end of the day I asked Brian " A week in NYC or 3 days at Walt Disney World?" To which he replied "3 days in Disney for sure!!" YAY I got a Disney man!!! So that brings me back ot our bigger and better trip....:goodvibes

Alright when I left you we were waiting on our shuttle at the airport. Check in and security was a breeze. Now all we had to do was wait an hour and a half for our flight time. As we walked to our gate I couldn’t stop smiling. Not only because our trip was finally here, but because everyone around us was wearing Mickey gear. I loved that I was finally part of the group that was flying to Orlando to go to WDW. This may not sound like a huge deal, but I have flown to Orlando 3 times with these people and always looked at them with envy. Granted on those three trips I was going on a cruise to do nothing but relax for an entire week and well...I now know that Mickey gear people get to do very little of that on their vacation.

For all those new to my thread, Brian and I LOVE “The Office”. Next to “Friends” it is the greatest show ever made. We had talked before the trip about how we would love to buy season 6 of The Office, but decided against it because we are trying to cut-out all unnecessary spending before the trip. Little did Brian know that I had already bought it for him as an anniversary gift to give him at the airport. This is Brian opening his gifts….

We watched The Office the entire flight of course. Needless to say we were having an amazing time :goodvibes

Up Next: WERE HERE!!!!

I'm glad you had fun in NYC. I think you should definitely go back, especially if you can go around Christmas one year. NYC during Christmas is magical. Seeing a show on Broadway is NOT the same as seeing it tour. The touring cast is the B cast. Reconsider! LOL. I love NYC.

I can't get into the Office. I've tried watching episodes but I don't see what the hype is. And why the hell are there cameras in their office? Is that ever explained?

Glad you had a great NYC trip. Ya'll two are just the cutest couple! And, I don't think either one of you could have a bad picture!
I can't believe the airport guy was going to just leave the spilt coffee. At least Brian was there to clean up the mess!

Lol sounds liek we have very different personalites huh :lmao: Maybe someday I will go to NYC again but it wont be for a long time. Tehre are jsut to many other places I want to go. I know alot of people that dont get into the office. I think it is a love it or hate it type of thing. The camera are just there, no reason needed :)

You are too nice...really you are. As the trip and humidity go on you will be surprised by how bad we can make a picture look haha. I know I was so mad at the guy, it surprises me how inconsiderate people can be. On a side note you will notice I deleted the entire coffee story now in my post.. I figured 90% of people would rather it not be there and have me stay on track rather than complain.

I am going to check out your TR, right after I make a quik update. :thumbsup2

Glad to hear that you all had a great time in NYC...I think its a great place to visit but short visits there were always enough for me as well!! Id much rather be at Disney :thumbsup2

We LOVE the office too...though DBF is beyond sick of hearing me say "Thats what she said"

Since last nights post was so short I figured it would only be right to post again tonight. Let me first tell you I had an awful day and it might be reflected in my writing but I will try my best to be "Disney". :rotfl:

Our Flight landed on time at 2:20. Once in the airport it took Brian and I a good 10 minutes to find M.E check in. Normally we aren't directionally challenged but for some reason we just could not seem to go the right direction. Once we finally found check in, it was super easy and quick

We walked straight to the front of line and were told our bus was loading. Woo hoo for no lines!! Once again I was all smiles as we got onto our bus. I had seen these buses a million times and was finally happy to be riding one!

We made a stop at two resorts (can not remember which ones) and then finally made it to Pop Century!!

The Pop Century lobby did not disappoint, it was so colorful and fun. We both agreed that we loved it. We even plan to do some shadow boxes like they have by check in. Our will have collections from our favorite moves and shows 

Check in was again super simple and we were quickly pointed to our room. I never made any room requests and we did not pay extra for a preferred room. So to say I was nervous to see where we ended up would be an understatement.

When she showed us our room was 5423 60's Building I was shocked. I could not have asked for a better location. I really did love it. When we walked out our door we had the beautiful view of the lake, but if we walked 10 ft and turned left we could see the pool. I highly recommend this location to all. (I'm still not sure if this is normally a preferred section or not.) Another great thing about our room is that was REFURBISHED!!!

Our room was on the backside of the building behind Baloo.

I know I have more pictures of our room but can’t find them right now. I will add them as I find them :thumbsup2

Up Next: Go away crane you are ruining my moment!!

Great update!!

LOVE the pic of you and the soap!!:lmao: I will admit, I'm in love with the soap and I just *might* have a collection of them!! I even have one from our honeymoon (they were different then) 10 years ago! Todd keeps asking what the point is! I dont know, I just love them!!:lovestruc

Aw! Great room location! I can't even tell you how many mickey soaps we have at home. I only managed to get 1 into my suitcase this time but I was holding myself back. I find it weird that they give you a new one everyday. Serisouly?

I 'helped' about 3 groups of people in the airport find ME. I felt so badly, I could tell they were so lost in the A terminal baggage area looking for the ME. I wish the airport would let Disney advertise again.

lol about the soap! Kris took the soaps home with him!

Maybe the front of those buildings are just preferred? :confused3 That's an awesome location! And you are the first person's TR I've read in months that didn't get put in the 50s section!

Welcome home from NYC! It certainly sounds as if you had a great time. Well, with the exception of the broken camera.

I was happy to hear that your room location was perfecto!

I love the picture of you with the soap, it made me laugh out loud!

I do remember being very excited about the soap the 1st time I saw it. :) We try to stash away as many bars of Mickey soap & shampoo as we can. The kids love using them at home!

Glad you got a great room location!

Joining in on the fun!! Oh and for the record I have never been to NYC either!! Someday......!!

We have a list of places we would like to go on our fridge. It feels so nice whenever we get to mark one off :)

Great update!!

Haha. I also *might* have 3 or 4 under my sink. I haven't brought my self to actually use one of them yet...just wait I will have a collection that Brian wonders about in a few years.

I was super excited everytime when we got one. One day when we left our do not desturb sign up they left a bag on our door of towels and everything...and to my surprise they gave us two soaps... JACK POT!!! ( It's the little things...)

Ya I thought it would be really easy to find ME, but man we sure did struggle.

Ya I'm not sure I LOVED our location. I thought we would end up way in the back.

Thanks! Ya the broken camera was a little dissapointment. Normally I would have really been upset but instead the first thing that came out of my mouth was "New camera time!!" Brian was shocked I'm sure.

Did you notice Brian in the mirror with his thumb up? I didn't notice at first, but it looks like he likes the soap too...:lmao:

When we have our niece and nephew over I will probably get one out, because I know they will appreciate it as much as I did.

You are too cute about the soap! I think it is nice though when I've been dreaming about my trip for months and then so much is themed. It really helps to keep me thinking about being on vacation and what I've been looking forward to for so long. It IS the little things sometimes! :goodvibes

I think we're going to make a room request for our trip next month (how cool that I can say "next month" now! :woohoo:). I had debated just letting fate decide but I think I'm wavering. Glad you liked your location though! I just don't think I would want to be in the 80's or 90's for some reason...they seem out of the way.

I don't really get The Office but I LOVE Friends! It's definitely in my top 5 of favorite tv shows. My DH had never really watched before we started dating but I think in the last 5 years we've been together he's seen almost all the episodes. Gotta love that they do so many re-runs. :)

Glad you had a good time in NYC and made it back safely. I've been a couple of times and love it. I would seriously move there if my husband would. He seems to be concerned about a little thing called money though...how silly, right?

Can't wait for more!

Sorry I have been gone for so long. Things have been busy :) We put an offer in on a house and are now in contract!! We hope to close by the end of December. Nothing better than moving in freezing cold weather. I have also been super busy at work. I now have 4 listing that seem to be taking up alot of my time. But anyways I will be on here to update this week!
