7 Days at Disney & the MANY Lessons We Learned Along the Way! My Jan 2010 TR

YAY for Jamaica! CBR was my first booking I made for a mommy and me trip (which I cancelled).
Love Cosmic Rays... toppings bar is genius!

The kids faces are priceless ! And so happy Andrew was feeling better!
This was our first time eating at Cosmic Rays and we really liked it. The portions were generous and the rotisserie chicken was YUM! I grew a little tired of the Sonny Eclipse music after a while though. :rolleyes1
Oh, I feel for you. My 4 y.o. get car sick if we are in the car more than 30 minutes. The pedi. told me to give her a tsp of Benadryl and it seems to do the trick...but we fly because I can't imagine how driving 20 hrs would effect her. I really understand. Once, I had to pull over on a highway 3x for her. It's exhausting, upsetting, all of it. Good job on not giving up!! I can't wait to read how the trip turns out, I'm sure, much better!!
I think any further trips will be in a plane. It WAS exhausting. Luckily he doesn't get car sick on a regular basis. Your poor DD (and you!). :sad2:
Joining in. We are booked to go Jan 23-30, 2011. Needless to say, I am very interested in reading about a trip that is exactly the same week (one year removed) I'm taking the family.

Looking forward to the rest of your posts. :goodvibes
Congrats on booking for 2011! This was our second time going the last week of January. It seemed a little more crowded this year than last year but still not too bad in comparison to other times of the year. We've been lucky both times with decent weather. Some days were almost 80 and some evenings we needed light sweatshirts/jackets. It's a mix but we don't mind.

I'm going to depart from the regularly scheduled trip report to share with you some pics of the blizzard we are getting hammered with! The snow is coming down sideways at this point. :faint: Hope everyone is staying warm in all of this!

Just for reference, this was my front yard a few days ago after the little storm that rolled through last week.

This is my front yard this morning.

Dh trying to keep up with it...lost cause but he gets a gold star for effort.

The back yard...don't think we'll be having any picnics on that Little Tikes picnic table any time soon. It's buried!

Looking up at the ENORMOUS trees we live amongst and praying the branches don't come down on any power lines! Why we ever decided to live in thewoods is beyond me.

The only good thing about a blizzard...

I sure do miss Disney right now. A little over a week ago I was wearing shorts and swimming in the pool at CBR. :cloud9:

WHOA!! You sure are getting slammed!
Love the cookies though! something about baking during a snowstorm is so perfect! I hope you keep your power on and it ends soon.

Global warming - :lmao:

Wow that's a lot of snow! Funny, I took some similar pictures of my yard this morning! :rotfl: I think we have a little less snow than you though - DH just said we got about a foot last night. Luckily it has stopped today though!

But hey -- in just() 9 months from today I will be in warm sunny Florida! :cloud9:

Are you sure you guys don't live in the North Pole?

My heavens! It reminds me of my Rochester NY days---- Brrrrrrrrrrr!

Stay warm! :goodvibes

That's what my DH said this morning as he was getting ready to get the snowblower out... "global warming my ***" to be exact! :lmao:
We may make some rice crispy treats later. :goodvibes

Way to rub it in little miss "in 9 months...blah blah blah." Glad yours has stopped. I'm sure your boys are loving it! Ours should be wrapping up tonight sometime...hopefully.

It sure feels like the North Pole! I'm sure it looks like nothing compared to what some of my Canadian friends are used to but here it's recording breaking. Kinda cool but would have been even cooler if it had come M-F and gotten us all out of work! ;)

LOL- Being a girl from South Carolina having to do a tour of duty in upstate NY with Lake effect snow--- all snow looks like a ton to me! I'm okay with a dusting--- as long as it melts in 3 hours.:rotfl: I sure hope you guys keep power throughout it all.

Rice crispy treats----- YUM!

Hey Everyone! Wow, I feel for the snowfall. We were literally right on the snow/rain line. 15 minutes up the road got a ton of snow, we just got rain.

So cool that there are so many of us that were there at the same time! We should do it again next year! We could meet up at Cosmic Rays! As long as Jo doesn't sit near the toppings bar!! :thumbsup2

We should like cover a variety of resorts and theming and all go to different restaurants..... oh sorry about the tangent.

FYI, Book of Eli is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing, I could watch Denzel Washington read the UNC Student Handbook and I would be mesmerized!!!!!

Can't wait for more, you are doing great!

That sure is a lot of snow! Thank goodness for snow blowers. DH finally got one this year though he could have used it more when we were in Northern IL.

Love the pictures on the monorail :) Priceless!!

Did someone mention my name and a toppings bar in the same sentence???

:scared:

:rolleyes1

Kim----
Hope you guys aren't snowed under way up yonder there!

Uh, I don't know what you're talking about, of course not!!

Great update, Kim! Your kids are just precious! :cutie:
I would love to take a relaxed Disney trip some day. We just can't keep ourselves away from rope drops and time-optimization techniques... :sad2:

Rice crispy treats----- YUM!
Rice crispy treats were the kids favorite in Disney so we used our Mickey cookie cutter and made some yesterday. They were good but not as good as having one in Disney.

How nice of old man winter to spare you!

I'd love to go again in Jan 2011 but I don't think that will happen. :sad2:

Last winter the snowblower sat in the garage and we actually contemplated selling it. Thank goodness we didn't! It sure has come in handy this winter.
