sound like a really good deal, especially when I see no expiration, until you use it of course. just wondering, has anyone purchased this ticket and if you have used it, did you have any issues?

Many of us here have used it. No problems whatsoever.

I haven't used my tickets yet, but last year I bought the 5 day/$85 ticket from US online and had no problem with getting my "real" tickets when I used my confirmation number and credit card at the entrance kiosks.

This year, I bought 7 day /$85 (that's right, not $86) tickets from AAA. The $85 *included* tax, which is not included in the $85.99 price you pay on the Universal website. AAA charged a $5 shipping and handling fee because I had them mailed and did not pick them up in person, but even with that, I saved over $25 for four tickets,

I checked the tickets, and they don't have any expiration date printed on them, either.

Speaking of AAA, my annual membership has already more than paid for itself with the tix discount and the AAA room discount at the HRH.

Just curious, I have heard alot about the AAA Membership discount and I guess I need to check into it. What is the yearly fee?

It varies from club to club. While AAA is a national organization, each territory can run things as they want, meaning offer different services at different pricing. A Basic/Starter/Classic membership can run anywhere from $35 to $65 depending on where you live. NO matter what level you join, you're entitled to the same discounts as the person paying for more road service benefits.

I use my AAA all the time for discounts. So many places offer a discount it's awesome!

i live in the chgo area and my yearly membership fee is about $45.

if you sign up for aaa on line thru their website, the registration fee is waived. up here it was $15 reg fee which i did not have to pay.

if you join by going to the aaa office, you do not get that registration fee waived.

do it online

My question is what do you do at Universal for a week?! Other than the price is better than other options, I can't figure out how to kill more than 3 days there at most if you're not a frequent visitor.

i do the parks early in the beginning of the day.
take time out to eat at city walk on my summer / june trips.

return to the parks late afternoon.

you could easily spend 4 days in the parks and not see it all. so many shops, so many sets in the parks that can take up one half of a day.

if you are only interested in going on rides and doing shows, you could accomplish that in 2.5 days.

many like to look at the sets, the designs for each area and just take it all in.
i appreciate the details given to each area in both parks. the shows i take in and with wait time, it's a hour gone then. even with the fotl, i go 20 minutes in advance so i can take advantage of my ideal seat area for the shows.

there are activities at the pools at the on site hotels. there is the exploring of the hotels on site that you are not staying in. dine at one of them and there easily goes an hour of your time.

can't forget city walk with the shops and places to stop for a snack.
when i go in the summer, i always take in a movie in cw.

i annually go in the fall for hhn and a side trip beginning of summer. only 5 days there is not enough for me.
with the hard ticket evening event, i have to give up city walk to do all i want in the parks.

if you are a ride person only, you probably do the rides that interest you and over look the other activities that some of us do.

we all have a different perspective on the parks. that is okay. i used to be like that when i first started going to UO. i would rush and do repeat rides and took a pass at what i mentioned above. when the mummy dust hit me, i couldn't get enough of what all universal had to offer the guests.
staying on site really changed things for me.

i really enjoy a relaxing vacation. i love walking around the grounds at the hotels i stay in. i like sitting in the lobby and talking to others on their adventures. i like being around the pool without going in it at times.

i love the ambiance of the themes in the sections of IOA. i love the music and building sets at the studios. i like exploring the activities at city walk and musicians events on the weekends. live entertainment from radio stations is always a must for me. i like to check out the shops at cw and the parks and hotels on site.

i like it all.

You could always do a water park one day and sea world another day.

I think it all depends on how you like to vacation. We are planning 6 days. Unfortunately the first day is a drive day where we won't arrive till 4pm and then the last day we will need to drive home and will only have a few hours for one park. Since this will be our first time at US/IOA I want to take our time and check things out and not just run ride to ride and be done. Eating is also a very important part of vacations for us. I'm looking forward to some good sit down meals.

We don't plan to spend the entire day in the park from opening to closing either. We will arrive at opening then have an early lunch and leave to go back to the resort to swim. Then go back to the park later in the evening and have dinner and catch a few more rides. This will work good for us because we are going in August and I would rather not be in the parks at the hotest times of day.

We are also planning a day for wet-n-wild or Aquatica if it is open. May do Sea World...that's still up in the air. But I have a long ways to go till the trip in 2008 so have plenty of time to decide.

Now if all you want to do is US/IOA and just do rides then a week probably is a long time.

What we love about our US vacations vs. WDW is the fact that they are more relaxing. The resorts are beautiful and we get to enjoy them and the great pools. When we are there for a week we also went to Sea World and this trip we are doing Sea World and Discovery Cove. It is much easier to go to the parks 'whenever' with FOTL, walk or take the boat back to the resort, relax at the pool, and then either enjoy the entertainment at the resort or eat at City Walk (which also often has entertainment).
