7 day Western - May 7, 2005???

Debbie,
What a sweetheart you are to offer to get me one of those dive boxes. I don't care what it says on it...thank you SO much.
This board is getting WILD...hope AA doesn't check in on it. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Designated walker...that's a hoot! :rotfl2: Maybe we can use one of those rolling things they transport the luggage on. You know, just hang off the poles.
I hope as we get closer, someone will remind us all of the time and place of the meet (and were'nt we supposed to bring something...food???). I've totally forgotten all the details and Lord knows, we MUST meet up with the way this discussion has gone! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
It's a beautiful sunny day in western NJ and I've got a ton of housework to do but the outdoors is beckoning me. Is it true that tan flab doesn't look as bad as white flab???
:wave2: Linda

"designated walker"- now that is one i never heard!:rotfl: :rotfl:

i believe our meet is on embarktation day at 3:00 pm but of course i can't remember where :confused3 ... james can help with this

i just ordered some mini key chain flashlights for our "dismeet kids" from the oriental trading company- they even have pirate stuff on their website pirate:

hopefully we will be able to set up another dis meet when we all get together for the first one :goodvibes and have a drink or two :teeth:

slow day at work so all i have to do is read the Dis and post, poor me, huh :rolleyes1

DIS MEET INFO- PER JRP (JAMES)
Hi all
If all think it is a good place to meet on 10 lets try for the aft part of the ship if the weather is good I will call Dis tomorrow and see ifthere is any other place on 10 the DIS group usually meet James
p.s. The more I think about it the outlook bar on deck 10 would be the perfect place to meet as there are table and chairs and of course libations available...3:00PM

Linda,
I'll get that neck tote for you ( actually I just put it in my purse). I'll brink it to the meet on deck 10. If I forget to give it to you, don't be imbarresed to ask for it because i'll have it in my room.

Bratray,
The kids will love it.

Debbie :wave2:

So I'm thinking this weekend the suitcases are going to come out and I will start filling them with items I know I will want on the cruise and won't use until then. Like my swimsuit, my tropical night outfit, and so on. I love getting the prepacking done. I'm debating on the extension cord and stuff. Does anyone really think we will need it?

~Amanda

I have never needed the extension cord or the over the door shoe holder, but there are only two of us so I guess we don't have a lot of stuff. The blowdryers that are provided are pretty weak, so I am debating on bringing my own this time.

Debbie...thanks so much. You're a lifesaver! That's one thing I can now cross off my list.

Amanda...don't know if you're aware but Tropical Night is now Pirate Night. pirate: I think they changed it back in January. And yes, my family, much to their chagrin, will be decked out all "Piraty"...aaarrgh! I feel pretty confident that I can pack that stuff now. Don't think I'll have any occasion to dress up as a pirate before the cruise. :rotfl2:

I had no idea and since I own no pirate grub and bought the tropical stuff special a few months ago - that is what we are going to wear ;)

~Amanda

Amanda...I'm sure you'll look just fine. Undoubtedly, word hasn't gotten around to everyone so it will be a "tropical" pirate theme. ;) Actually, I'd have preferred the tropical. We all have Hawaiian shirts. I should have just gone with that but Nooooooooo....I'm shredding the bottom of my teenage boys pants and buying doorags and eye patches. They are definitely going to be rif-raf pirates, I'm afraid. No matter what is worn...it'll be a blast!
 Linda

Amanda - Your just taking the suitcases out now? I think my youngest DD was packed about 2 months ago :rotfl:

I'm not sure about the extension cord, but I've already packed the over the door shoe holder since there are 4 of us and we always have "little" things laying around  I have to bring a blow dryer since my hair is so thick, it'll take forever to dry it. Speaking of hair, need to make sure to get it cut before we leave... hopefully that'll help.

Bratray - Do you know about how many kids we have in our group??

We will certainly be packing a hair dryer. Actually I'm thinking of buying a new one (ours is old and getting a little wheesy). I think I'll pack the extension cord just in case we need it for something. :) Ya just never know. Let me think.......any other ques...................not at the moment but I'll try to think of one. This weekend it is all about stocking up on sunscreen. DH and I burn very very easily so I need to get the 55 spf stuff :rotfl:

~Amanda

Amanda,
We definately used the the over the door hanger in August. Its great for keeping things handy. Even my DH found uses for it and he thought I was silly for bringing it. Brushes, suntan lotion, clothes pins, etc.
Since there aren't that many outlets in the staterooms and no lighted clock, we used the extension cord. My DD brought her laptop and some other things which used up most of the in room outlets.

I'm sure you'll find uses for these things. :flower:

hi tera
i counted approx 27 kids from ages 1-17 :earsgirl: :earsboy:

i haven't packed anything yet but this weekend i am making DH get his summer stuff out of the attic- i don't like to pack till the week we go because i just get tooooo darn excited  :earseek:

my DH's family has a tax office so guess where i will be after work today?? hope you all got your tax's in....today is the last day :bitelip:

Can anyone help me think of a good 10th anniversary gift for DH? I thought the cruise was our gift to each other, but then he surprised me early with an anniversary ring!

He's the kind of guy that just buys what he wants for himself, so he is hard to surprise. He already has a nice watch.

Only about three weeks to go everyone!

I spoke with my friend yesterday -- she actually didn't have much info. that I didn't already know (thanks to these boards and my Passporter!) ;)

She said to make sure ALL of your paperwork is filled out when you go to check in, they had skipped a page or two. They loved Palo and the spa and did the ressie rush with no problems (and did brunch, tea and dinner and thought they were all wonderful). Her 18 year old DD was picked to demonstrate the facial - so she got it for free.
Her advice is to not leave the kids in the club too long on the first day - they almost got a little burned out. They had fun, but weren't as eager to go back (they have triplets, 2 boys & a girl age 8). And reapply the sunscreen frequently - especially under the eyes. Her kids ending up burning so bad there they blistered, and had to stay out of the sun the next day.

One thing I didn't know - her kids all dance (in competitions and stuff) so they brought a CD of their music from home to use for the Talent Show, and that was a big hit for them. I hadn't thought about that, but my DD's wouldn't be into that anyway.

So, not much new info. but I think this means we must all be pretty well prepared! :cool1:

I'm starting to think about packing. My DH thinks I'm crazy, but I know you guys don't!! :goodvibes

Jott3...is DH an avid sports fan...spectator sports? You could buy him tickets or what I did for my DH last year for our 25th. He bought me a beautiful anniversary ring (well, I picked it out...when you're married 25 years, it's safer!). I was at a total loss for him. He LOVES watching sports on tv so I got him DirectTV with a TIVO. He's just happy as a clam. It's not particularly romantic but he surely uses it. Just a thought.
:wave2: Linda

That's like the fourth thread I've read this week where the kids got burnt under their eyes. I guess that's good to know, so we can make sure we reapply often.

Been packing today.  :Pinkbounc
Trying to get as much as possible done. My DH thinks I'm crazy.

We're thinking about booking 10/28/06 Halloween. Does anyone know do they do anything then? :dancer: :jumping2: :boat: :dancer:

Next time it will be me,DH, DS, his girlfriend, DD, and DGD. Should be alot of fun then too. Some time though The kids 28 and 25 still argue. It will be interesting them being together for so long. :rotfl: :confused3
Debbie

THREE WEEKS from this very moment we'll be on our way on the open seas! I can smell salty ocean air and the Palo Souffle already!

I intended to start pulling out the suitcases and start "pre-packing" today but DD3 is sick with a stomach bug (hopefully a 24-hour one) so there wasn't much sleep last night and not much rest today. But she seems to be improving and is watching Sesame Street right now... so this is my escape!

And still no docs.....................

Ya! this time three weeks from now, We'll be having fun partying. :cheer2: :cool1:

Tiggerzfan,
Sorry to hear the baby is sick. I hope your right and it's only the 24 hr. bug. It's such a shame when their little and get sick.

Debbei :wave2:

OK...I admit...I'm rather new to the message boards. What exactly does "Bump" mean???
