7 day Western - May 7, 2005???

Jott3 - Congratulations on the docs. I'm thinking the rest of us should get ours in the next few days :goodvibes Take it easy on your foot and I'm sure you'll be good to go by the time we sail.

Thanks Debbie - I'm glad you were able to check it out. It's amazing what some of these people have accomplished. I'm hoping I can keep it together enough on the cruise not to gain 5 pounds back, but I'm not going to worry about it.

Lostgirls - I hope your girls feel better soon. Atleast they are not missing any school, but it stinks that they have to waste their spring break

Bratray - I'm sure you'll be getting that passport anytime. Maybe you'll get it the same time as your docs... would that be sweet :earboy2:

Hi all. I posted on the other board too, but... do any of you know of any "pirate museums" on the Western? My DD's (and DH) would really be interested in that! pirate: THANKS!

DD's still have their coughs, but I do think they are getting better! :)
We're not missing much because of the rain! :umbrella:

FYI... anyone looking for some inexpensive "piraty" type stuff, I went shopping today and some ideas: Walmart sells doo-rags (great headgear for teen boys and DH) and eyepatches pirate: (by the contact lens solutions). Party City doesn't really have much right now (duh...it's April, not October). Anyone looking for men or older boys, there's a line of clothes carried by major department stores called JNCO and they have lots of skulls on them. :scared1: I was able to pick up a shirt for DH, long-sleeved so not in season right now marked down from $30 to $1.50. At Party City they suggested taking either sweatpants or men's striped pajama bottoms and cutting the bottoms raggedy. You don't have to spend much money to come up with a decent costume. :teacher:

Docs arrived today. Really getting anxious. :bounce:

Hope everyone else gets theirs soon.
Linda

lynn, I sure hope your girls feel better soon. You must be going crazy by now. With the girls sick and the rain. :umbrella:
Congrats to everyone who got their docs. :Pinkbounc :cool1:

I got a great surprise today my girlfriend from Langhorne, Pa. is going on the cruise for my birthday. I am sooooo excited. :thewave:
Rachel & Donna is everything OK with all the flooding up there? I hope your both OK.
Bye for now, Debbie :wave2: :hourglass

Linda- Great news about your docs. I anxiously listen every evening for our UPS truck.

I found great pirate tshirts online (piratestore.com). We'll all have matching black shirts with pirate skulls on the front. The girls and I will be wearing white capris and DH will be just wearing some shorts. I figure with the bandanas that we get,we'll be one good looking family pirate: I found pirate skull blinky lights at Oriental Trading online that I was going to order for everyone, then we can see each other at the party pirate:

Oh, speaking of that, can shorts be worn at dinner on Pirate night??? I know they don't want it any other night, but thought Pirate night would be okay? Otherwise, he'll be wearing pants I guess.

30 days till we leave!!!!!!!

Debbie (mommommouse)

Thanks for your concern about the flooding. Here in Newtown, we're all dry and cozy - and enjoying some nice weather now (75 & sunny tomorrow!)... but for the folks next door in Yardley and New Hope, between the Delaware River and the canal, it's pure devastation. A neighbor of mine owns a company there and he just moved his business back into the building last month, after $500,000 of repairs from Ivan in September and now it's in worse shape than ever. He tells me the flood waters reached the TOP of the doors  . Many aren't even able to get back to see what's left yet.

Great news, though, about your friend from Lanhorne joining you! Is she flying down? No doubt we'll regret it, but we're driving down this time. Our yellow Lab is joining us and will be spending cruise week on the ocean at "Camp Grandma" in St. Augustine Beach. What a life....

Donna(tiggerzfan)
That is horrible. I didn't realize it was that bad.I feel sorry for all those people. You all got more from the hurricanes than we did and now to get it again.

Ya! it's great and yes she is flying down. We got her $49.00 each way. I hate driving up but sometimes we don't have a chioce. She's going crazy now trying to get everything together. She just decided to go today. :Pinkbounc :cheer2: But it'll be so great. :bounce: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

I am getting so excited!!!!!!!!!! :hourglass

hi everyone
we have quite a few names on our dislist- check it out on page 28 :wave2:

glad to hear you got your docs linda- you must be so excited! everyday when i get home from work i run to the dining room table hoping that first of all my passport has arrived and secondly my documents! the anticipation is killing me :bitelip:

momeska great ideas for pirate gear- as you can see from my pic my son has his- i believe i am going to wear a sailor shirt with capris and if i can convince my DH to get in the spirit we will be all setpirate:

good question tera- i would think anything should go for pirate nite - maybe if you post that question on the board someone can let us know :confused3

29 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all - This will be my 3rd Cruise. My family of 4 (Me, DH, DS - Age 3, and DD - Age 1), My sister's family of 4 (Sister, DH, DD - Age 7, DD - Age 1), and my Mom are all going. We are traveling down the night before and staying at the Airport Hyatt.

I think my DH is more excited than the kids. He had such a great time last year. He is counting down the days.

My DS will be 4 in July. Would love to find some friends for him early on so he will have somebody to go to the club with. He didn't like it last year because he didn't know anybody. I reviewed the list posted on page 28 and noticed that Lostgirls, Tiggezfan, Iowa6, and Kaykels all have children my son's age. Are y'all (yes, I did just type the word "y'all" - I am from Ky.) planning on your 3 year olds going to the kids club?

No docs for me yet. :guilty:

We will be more tropically then Piraty :goodvibes
Yes,you can wear shorts for Pirate night
We did on our last cruise it was tropical night
Lots of people with cargo shorts and hawaiian shirts
Only night you can wear shorts in the dining room!

Jott3 my MIL has a broken ankle she broke it in Mexico on vacation
and is hoping to get a air cast on today
she is worried about getting around on the ship.
It is not like you are at the WDW and have to stand in line for a long time with rides
and just think you won't have to wait in line to board the ship. :earboy2:

29 days left!!!!!

OK! I have three more people to add to the list. :Pinkbounc :cool1:

Debbie-49 ( ya my best friend's name is Debbie too )
Carl - 65
Marisa-13
I hope someone else has kids Marisa's age. She's a little shy and believe or not never been to Disney. :confused3

Now me the complusive packer is going crazy thinking about what they need.
I'm trying to get together all the things that we think make life on board easier. :smooth: Well that gives me something else to make the time go faster. :hourglass
My DH has pirate of the carribean shirts so he's set. Kennedy is in the Gasparilla parades so I made her a custome for that so she's set. Just need me. OH the gasparilla parade is a pirate parade that Tampa has because pirates found Tampa.
Off to wal-mart and some other places to look for somehting for me. Thanks for all your ideas.
Debbie :wave2: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cool1: :bounce:

Please, ladies, please...someone else must be going all out for pirate night. I found this really funky black skirt in the formal wear department. It's layers of black tulle and satin all cut in points at the bottom (Do women actually wear things like this for formal wear???), wearing it with a white peasant blouse, black satin slippers, scarves on head and waist and mardi gras beads. Actually more gypsy looking, I guess than pirate. Trying for that whole wench thing. Was thinking of a black bustierre(sp?) on top. Everyone else seems to be keeping it on the down low. Am I way over the top with this??? :confused3 My boys are getting into it too. Doorags, earrings, eyepatches, arrrrgggg pirate: My 13 year old found a hat he bought on a class trip. It's a continental soldier three corner. All the same, if you ask me. He wants to shred the sleeves on his shirt and the bottom of his pants. OK on old sweatpants but the shirt's brand new!!!
All you Bucks county people...I'm right across the river! Not that you can get across the river. Actually, it's receded and I think all the bridges are open now. I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone.
Hope everyone's getting their docs.
Linda

hi
welcome lolo's mom- i have added you & family to our dislist on page 28 :wave2:
mommommouse added your friends family :)

momeska if i can find something more pirate like i will wear- what the heck its all in good fun!

Welcome Jean! I hope our kids will like the clubs - hope you can make it to our meet so we can introduce them all! I think "knowing" someone would make a difference as well. ;)

Linda, my parents are traveling with us. My Dad (who is 70 +) has even gotten a pirate shirt! I don't think you'll be alone - lots will get into it! I'm still looking for something for me. pirate:

The DD's seem better today, so they are going to spend sometime with the grandparents today - I could use a little "me" time - I have lots of errands to run. Still haven't heard from the TA about our docs. :sad2:

Linda,
Your outfit sounds great. I wish I could find something. There will be lots of people going all out. pirate:

Bratray,
Thanks for adding my friends. Our group is growing every day. Pretty soon we'll have the whole ship. :grouphug:

Lynn,
Glad to hear the girls are better. You should be dancing. :cloud9: :dancer: :dancer:

Debbie, :wave2:

Welcome Lolo's Mom! :wave2:

My DD just turned 3 in January and is excited about the kids' clubs. She's pretty outgoing so I think she will enjoy it for short periods of time. This will be the first cruise that she can go the club so I'm very hopeful. Also, neighbors are cruising, too, and they have a DS who will be 4 in June - so another potential playmate aboard!

Debbie - My oldest daughter is 12 and will be 13 in Sept. When did Marisa turn 13? If she's not planning on doing the teen club, my daughter Jessica is friendly and I'm sure they will become friends.

29 DAYS TILL WE LEAVE!!!!!!

Teresa,
It turns out she will not be 13 until Nov. That will be great. I think she's to young for teen club. Thank you for letting me know.
Debbie :wave2:

Debbie - That's great! They should have a lot of things in common and maybe become penpals after :teeth: I hope they can meet at the MEET :goodvibes

thats great guys that you have found someone your kids ages! :goodvibes hopefully they will become friends on the cruise and pal around- my DS5 (almost 6) is like an only child since his siblings are 18 & 19- he is usually pretty friendly but shy at first about meeting others- hopefully he will do well in the club

28 days and counting!!!
