7 day Western - May 7, 2005???

hello

just wondering if anyone has booked the REAS package and have gotten their dates confirmed- i booked with DU and sue ellen, who by the way is a great TA told me she would stay on top of it, but.....i am a worry wort :flower1:
(i also enjoy seeing our thread at the top of these boards :)

goofytoo - I know what you mean about white legs :earseek: :earseek: My legs don't see the sun here until ATLEAST May. I'll do a little suntanning and also use sunless, just for some color.

I bought a lot of things the end of the summer for the kids, so I think they are good. I'm in the process of losing weight, so I'm waiting until the last minute (probably weekend before we leave :earboy2: )

bratray - Nope, no REAS for us :guilty:

Well people, we're getting to just under 120 days for our departure!!!! How quickly the year has gone by. I better start packing :earboy2:

goofytoo - I hit the tanning salon today. Didn't know they actually have a tanning bed just for legs :cool1: Think I will do the spray on tan too, since I don't tan really dark.

Hi Tera and Hi all :cool1:
All I do is ride the Harley and instant tan, except the legs :earseek: ..I am a Floridian and am expected to have white chicken legs..HeHE But of course no shorts for me on the bike, as road rash does hurt no matter how slight.. Keep up the good tanning tecnique.. When we hit the 90 day mark we will plan our DIS meet on board before the boat drill :boat: Just remember the grog aaarrrhhh pirate: jrp

Hi James -

I'll make sure not to stand by you since I'll be about 5 shades lighter than you :earseek: Sounds good about the DIS meet. I've never done one, so someone else might need to head up that department.

hi

i've never done a dis-meet either but would be happy to help in any way that i can...sounds like it will be a lot of fun :flower:

P.S Tera you are doing fantastic with your weight loss...KUDO's to you!!

117 days :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I didn't know they had a tanning booth for legs that is cool
I usually only tan a amonth before
I try to cover my face towards the end ( hate that leather face look) :3dglasses those look like tanning glasses !

Bratray -I thought about REAS but never made up my mind.
I just paid off my cruise.

YAY! :cheer2: for Tera- Congrats on your weight loss!

I have been to a Dis meet on our last cruise it is fun and you get to meet people you have been chatting with.
I have never organized one either.
If I can be of assistance let me know.

James, I wish I could ride a Harley this time of year we just got 4 inches of snow yesterday it will probably be may before we see the grass again!
Which sort of Grog do you prefer?

HiGoofytoo :cool1:
Last trip I was green to even realize they had DIS meets and such so if you would spearhead the meet I will Make nametags and such and assist. I guess deck 10 is the place to be and around 3:3o or so before the drill.. What say you if we adopt this task? As we get clsoer and get more cruisers log on we can plan further.. JRP

are we all going to make the magnetic signs for our doors? i am defienetly not a "leader" but if you tell me what needs to be done, i will do it- i am really looking forward to meeting everyone!!! i can't wait to get there :)

Goofytoo - Thanks! I still have a bunch more weight to go, but I'm getting there :D I can't believe how quickly the time seems to be going by now :cool1: :cool1: My legs are definitely the most in need of some color and I'm just doing it a little at a time now, but will turn it up as we get closer.

A DIS meet sounds great. I've heard everyone talk about 3:30 on Deck 10, but someone will have to tell me exactly where since I've never been on the ship :earboy2:

James - Name tags would be great. Do you usually put your DISer name AND your real name on it??

hi Tera:cool1: For the DIS meet tags we can put both names on them so we can "meet and greet" For our rooms I don't recommend it if you feel the security of your children may be comprimised..Definately no last names. No foul no trouble. As we get closer I will get everyones names (to include family) so name taqs can be printed ahead of the cruise. I also commend you on your weight loss :grouphug: I know how hard it is as I due to my health had lap band surgery in July and have dropped 61 pounds. I retired from the fire department 3 years ago and used to be a lotmore actrive than now. I had tried every diet there was before and meds with weight gain over what I lost.. :jumping4: Keep me posted.. James

James - That sounds great! I'm getting so excited, I can't stand it :earseek:

Great job losing 61 pounds! My Dad had a heartache last May and he's struggling with his weight too. It's hard here since he's not able to get outside and exercise this time of year. You take care of yourself.

Bratray - I'm definitely making a sign for our cabin!!!

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone too, so please count me in! :D
We've got snow right now, and that's fairly unsual for us. I'm much more of a fair weather kind of gal! But I know the time will pass quickly!! :flower1:

LostGirls - Wow... snow!!! I think everyone has gotten snow the past week except for maybe FLORIDA!!!! Just make sure everyone has their sunglasses on when they meet me :earseek:

What's snow?lol 81 degrees today and the motorcycle club did a benifit poker run for cancer kids(our 2nd annual.) At the end we do haircuts (must have at least 10 inches to cut off.) The hair is then donated to have wigs made for the kids on chemo.. Good day we did 37 cuts and raised over 2,00o on the run.Like they say its for the kids.. James :moped:

Hi Guys
I am the family organizer for this trip not sure I want to take on organizing the meet. I might have my hands full with all the family pulling me in every direction.
I will help out in any way.
I know mark and mary (wdwlover) did a great job organizing the meet we had in may 2002 they had buttons with peoples screen names( bright green with goofy in a hammock very cute) and 1st names and lifesavers with Dis meet and the dates of the cruise they were melty so I would not recommend doing this I have seen Tie die bright green t-shirts with the dates on them I think Mark and mary had a list composed of cabin numbers
I have read that people bring champagne etc.
not sure how much you guys want to do.
any ideas?
Usually the meet is on the upper deck near the goofy pool before the lifeboat drill deck 10 around 3:30.
The first day on the ship is always a blur. So much to do -so much excitement!
Gotta get palo ressies, gotta make spa ressies, gotta eat those big shrimp at Parrot Cay ,gotta get the biggest drink you can find ,Gotta unpack.
Okay
I should definitely add this to my signature

Hi My name is Lisa and I have obsessive compulsive planning disorder :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hi Lisa (laughing at the Compulsive planning disorder) I'm the same way, especially since this is our first trip.

I do however think you have your priorities mixed up about what your doing once you get onboard. Now MINE will be: get the Biggest drink I can find, go eat big shrimp, palo ressies, make spa ressies, unpack :earboy2:

I'd be willing to help coordinate some kind of a meet, but I've never been on board and have no idea where ANYTHING is. James sounds like he's handy with the printer machine, so maybe he can make something (hint hint :smooth: )

Anyone else have any ideas???

Hi all :cool1:
I just went out after reading your posts and bought for now, 10 picture buttons for our meet :grouphug: I will put a green Mickey head in it with your board ID and your 1st name so we will all get to know each other..I will purchase more as new members hopefully come onboard the post site.. I will request all the names through pm in the next couple of weeks. It will definately be a starting point.I will post the results of the 1st button/pin when I get it dome :earseek: I will ask wdwlvr for advice on thier 10 day cruise meet they just did.. :boat: James

the buttons sound great & i would be happy to pitch in on the cost
T-shirts would be good too but of course more pricey

i imagine the first meeting would be a brief one as we are all excited about our trip & want to explore the ship......or may even accidently forget about the meet due to the boarding excitement
maybe we will be able to have a get together on a sea day as well :boat:

the time is getting closer & i can hardly stand it!!!

Hi Braytray :cool1:
Started a design for the buttons (got the smaller 2" pins) it has the green mickey head with DIS-er and below that the date May8-14, 2005 Like I said earlie I would like yo put both the web name and 1st name above this.. I will then cut them outand put them in the button to wear. I can fit 12 to a page with this present size of 2". As more DIS=ers join it should be pretty easy to fkeep up with demand.. I did a pm the with wdwlvr who did the meet for the 10 day deccruise for info. He said they met on declk 10 at 3:00pm and then had a wine and cheese on a day at sea. The members brought different cheeses and some of the members provide wine. The Cake was someones wedding vows. Most of The members even ate together . I have second seating and have already called to share one table but imore can always be added later.Man is it getting close.James
