7 AM Extra Magic Hours? We're in!...NEW 12/27 p. 31

Sounds like a fun morning at the AK :) I love that park more each time we visit!

Wow, I can't believe a bus was actually packed in the morning on your trip to DAK morning EMH! That is just shocking that bus never fills, ever, especially in the morning. People must be crazy when they stay at the Dolphin... O_O At least that crazy part was only for the bus ride though.

Sorry you didn't get to go on the Kilimanjaro Safaris that early in the morning, but animals need sleep and rest from crazy tourists driving through their habitat ya know. :thumbsup2 to riding Expedition Everest and Primeval Whirl, definitely gotta take note of the DAK EMH because I think I would enjoy Primeval Whirl much more then (may have had some bruising on my first ride :/) Love the pictures of the Tigers and various other creatures on the Maharajah Jungle Trek. The deer and the bird really do look like they are staring at you... F-REAKY! And yeah, you really should give the Rapids a second chance especially since you meet a lot of nice people on there... usually and getting soaked is THE best part (I hated it my first ride (barely got a sprinkle), loved it my second ride (got completely drenched)).

Can't wait to read about the rest of your time at DAK! :mickeyjum

Wow-you did get to AK early-I could tell how it wasn't even completely light out yet.

The picture you got from EE with the sun coming up is beautiful, and I love the shots you got of the tiger! Beautiful creature!

Hahahah, what is with those DOLPHIN people? That's too funny. What you probably didn't know was that the week of Easter, an Animal Kingdom lovers panel was meeting at the Dolphin. Hmm, seems like you would have known. :confused3 I kid.

Umm... why are the dragon's eyes GLOWING? I'm scared.

Yay tigers! I just love cats. Big cats, small cats, cats cats cats.

Ooh enjoy your non-Disney break...I'm not even going to bother trying to guess where you're going as will probably be way off the mark!

Wow at the bus filling up to go to AK at 7am especially when MK had morning EMHs as well!

Love the view from EE :)

Yay at the tigers being awake and alert and haha at the creepy pics!

Great updates!!:thumbsup2

Glad you enjoyed T-Rex!! We really liked it as well!!:) Love the new pins you got!!

Great animal pics at AK! I still haven't attempted Kali River Rapids. I don't like getting drenched either and I know I would....that's just my luck.

Great update! I am really looking forward to exploring AK more this time. We have seen the tigers or the Flights of Wonder show. Dinoland was missed!

I can't wait!

Where are you going!? Have fun!!!!

Great update! I love AK morning magic hours, the park is always so empty! :cool1:

All of your animal pics are adorable, but I especially love the one of the baby ducks! :lovestruc

I think I saw you mention where you're next vacation is going to be on FB! You're going to love it there! :woohoo:

Yup, that's why we love morning EMH in general! You can't beat an empty park. :thumbsup2

Glad you liked all the animal pictures. I have plenty more where those came from!

haha yes, I did mention it on facebook. But shhhh, don't tell where it is. ;)

Sounds like a fun morning at the AK :) I love that park more each time we visit!

Me too!

I know, it was so odd. Especially considering at the Boardwalk, hardly anyone ever got on. Maybe the DVC people don't go to the parks as much. Who knows. :confused3

It's OK, we still got on a safari pretty early. I will have to add Kali River Rapids to my list for next time. It is a fun ride.

Wow-you did get to AK early-I could tell how it wasn't even completely light out yet.

The picture you got from EE with the sun coming up is beautiful, and I love the shots you got of the tiger! Beautiful creature!

Yup, it was still dark when we got to the bus stop. That's always fun.

Thank you. I always love seeing that view from the top of Everest and it was cool to see the tigers awake for a change!

LOL, maybe there was some sort of convention. ;) Or I think teachers get some sort of discount at the Swan and Dolphin so maybe they were all teachers taking advantage of that on their spring breaks. haha

I think my camera makes animals' eyes glow for some strange reason. :confused3

My dad loves the tigers!

Ooh enjoy your non-Disney break...I'm not even going to bother trying to guess where you're going as will probably be way off the mark!

Yay at the tigers being awake and alert and haha at the creepy pics!

Thank you...our non-Disney trip should be a lot of fun!

It was so crazy that there was that many people waiting at the Dolphin.

Aren't those couple so weird?! ::yes::

Great updates!!:thumbsup2

Glad you enjoyed T-Rex!! We really liked it as well!!:) Love the new pins you got!!

Great animal pics at AK! I still haven't attempted Kali River Rapids. I don't like getting drenched either and I know I would....that's just my luck.

Yeah, T-Rex was a great restaurant. I can't wait to go back.

Thank you! I guess it really does depend on luck. I remember the first time we went on I got soaked and then another time I didn't really get all that wet. We always say though if we do it, it's the last thing of the day so we don't have to walk around drenched!

Great update! I am really looking forward to exploring AK more this time. We have seen the tigers or the Flights of Wonder show. Dinoland was missed!

I can't wait!

Where are you going!? Have fun!!!!

You will have so much fun exploring DAK. It's such a fun park, and definitely worth slowing down there.

haha, I'm not going to say but I'll post a little hint in my next update. :)

Hi everyone! Can't believe it's already nearing the end of July! That means that summer school is winding down (only 6 more days!) and then Dad, Emma, and I leave for our trip a week from Monday. :thumbsup2 I'm still not going to say exactly where we're going but I can give you this hint:

It is somewhere on the east coast. Yeah, that's not very helpful. But there are a lot of DISers from the area we're visiting, and quite possibly a couple of my readers. :rolleyes1 Now who wants to take a guess? I think Jen (Nermel9) is the only one who knows because I did mention it on facebook. :) haha

Wednesday, April 11, 2012 cont'd (part 2)...Gorillas and Giraffes

(ok that is a lame title for this update...my Cake Boss inspired titles are not going so great...:()

Now that the sun was out, we headed back toward Africa so we could do one of my favorite attractions in all of Disney World, Kilimanjaro Safaris. But before we did that, Dad suggested we take another walk through the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail to see the gorillas. We were hoping this time we'd catch a glimpse of baby Lilly.

Because we went through the trail on Sunday, we didn't spend too much time looking at the other animals. But when we got to the gorilla viewing locations, we were not disappointed. It seemed that there were gorillas everywhere you looked!

When we got out to the main viewing location we saw baby Lilly.

100_8513.jpg

She always cracks us up because she’s so stinking cute. In October she was playing with a blanket like a little kid and then this time she was having fun chasing a rabbit. Sadly for Lilly (fortunately for the rabbit I guess) it escaped and ran into the bushes which is why she’s standing there looking on lookout. hehe

The nice thing about when it's just Dad and me is that we can slow down and actually watch the animals for a while. So while we bypassed the animals at the beginning of the trail, we did spend some time watching the gorillas. I don't know why, but it's amazing that they're so close. I love watching them! And like I said, there were so many out that morning!

How many gorillas do you spot?
100_8514.jpg

After admiring the gorillas, it was time for a safari. So from here I'll let the pictures do the talking! :)

(apparently I didn't get any decent pictures before the savanna)

100_8515.jpg

We spotted the first giraffe of the ride!
100_8516.jpg

LOVE!!!!
100_8517.jpg

Have I ever mentioned how the giraffes are one of my favorites? ;)
100_8518.jpg

We did see animals other than giraffes...I am not quite sure what these are but for some reason bontebok was the first thing that popped into my head. I'm probably wrong though-I can never tell those gazelle/antelope guys apart. haha!
100_8519.jpg

Some wildebeest.
100_8520.jpg

But wait, how about some more giraffes?
100_8521.jpg

Seriously, this picture makes me so happy and it's probably one of my favorites of the whole trip. To me, it's just what the safari is all about-seeing all these awesome animals. I just love it! :lovestruc:goodvibes

100_8522.jpg

Soon we saw another one of my favorites, the elephants!
100_8523.jpg

100_8524.jpg

And finally, an ankole cattle.
100_8527.jpg

So it was another great safari but where would our adventures take us next???

Summer is flying by, isn't it?! Enjoy your vacation :)

Great pictures of the gorillas. We love watching Lily and it is amazing how similar it is to watching a toddler. So fun!

Your giraffe pics are really good too! The safari is always fun :)

Well clearly you MUST be coming to Virginia. Hahha, no clue. I'm sure wherever it is will be fun though!

Hahah Lilly is precious. I've never been over to see the gorillas! I really want to take some time on this trip and go down a lot of the trails because animals are awesome.

I have to say, I'm glad the rabbit got away! Hahah that might have been quite horrifying to experience if she DID catch it! :lmao:

Beautiful pictures :)

I'm going to guess D.C. The east coast has been on the hot side this summer. Well I guess everywhere has been for that matter. Have fun whatever you do :)

Loved the pictures of the gorillas. I could stand there and watch them for hours!

Enjoy the last weeks of summer vacation, and your trip-whereever that may be! :)

Wow, summer is really flying by fast now, isn't it? And you are going to be near my area in a few days... But you say East Coast and I know New England is no beautiful area so... hmmm... you've got me stumped! :confused3 Well, I hope you have a great time wherever you may be and enjoy the rest of your summer!

Love your gorilla pictures! Baby Lilly is just so adorable! I would've loved to have seen a video of her chasing a rabbit (D'awwwww....). The Safari pictures are great too, those giraffes were definitely out-and-about that day. Love the picture of the one where they are all eating from the trees LIKE A FAMILY! Awwww...

Can't wait to read about your next Disney adventure! :mickeyjum

Wow! Great pictures of the gorillas!! LOVE all your pictures of the giraffes!! They are my absolute favorite! I was sad that I wasn't able to get any good close ups of them this trip. You got some really good ones!:thumbsup2

Can some one tell me why DIS listing of WDW EMH does not match that of the Disney website? Which one should i trust? In the process of laying out our schedule and first noticed the discrepency with October 29th Evening EMH. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:worship:

Hi! Saw you had a new trip report since I was here last and wanted to check it out. Looks like a fun trip. I enjoyed the photos from the Boardwalk and the Flower and Garden Festival. Looks like I was actually at EPCOT a few weeks after you were.

I love your giraffe pictures! They're my favorite too :goodvibes
And my goodness, the horns on that last guy are huge! Great animal pictures!
