It's been 2 years since we were visited WDW and I've never heard of EMH at 7 am! I've been following the park hours for our upcoming trip for as long as they've been posted and never expected them to go this early.

1. Is this because bigger crowds are expected? We'll be there over MLK weekend.
2. This means we need to be at the bus stop at 6 am??
3. Has anyone experienced 7 am EMH, does this deter people from going?

Yes. Be at the bus stop at 6am. You won't regret it. Make your fp selections for Fantasyland starting late morning. Head to Tomorrowland for the first hour. Then head to Frontierland for the second hour. By 9am you will have done a ton of rides while the people begin to pour in. Then start using your fp's. Eat a counter service lunch by 11 am to avoid the crowds. Enjoy! :)

We did 7am EMH earlier this year during Easter week, and again the week before Christmas. It's totally worth it. We were able to get SO much done in those early hours. It really helps you free up FPs as well. We never did two 7am EMH in a row, but about every other day worked for us.

The year we went during spring break MK opened at 7am every morning. It was wonderful! By 11am we had done almost everything and left the park by noon. So many cars lined up waiting to get in as we were leaving. We went back to resort for a restful afternoon then back to the parks late in the evening. MK was open til 3am a couple times that week also.

Just returned from our second Christmas week trip. Yes, be there for the 7am extra magic hour- as stated above- be at the bus stop at 6am (before the sun was up for us). It is more than worth it- and Christmas week- it is necessity. I'd imagine if they have extra magic hours at 7am any time, it will be necessity. You will be able to ride for a couple of hours without crowds- get as much in as possible.

We meant to hit MK in March for 7am EMH but accidentally overslept. We got to MK at 7:30am, and it was still fairly dead. It was awesome. I would do it again in a heartbeat. We got so much done. Depending upon when you go, you might get to see the sun rise over the castle:)

Now that I'm over the initial shock of being at the bus stop at 6 am, I think this might be a great addition to our plan. We have 2 who need afternoon naps so we already planned to hit the parks early, get as much done without FP+, eat lunch and head back to the resort for nap...then...back to a different park, FP+ in hand, dinner, evening show/fireworks.

Thanks for the first hand experience info!

We did a 7am EMH in March (potentially the same day :) ) and it was soooo worth it. Walked over from BLT in the dark to find a very minimal rope drop crowd waiting. Seeing the sun come up over the castle was pure magic and we walked on everything for the first two hours. Enjoy!

I really hope they do it again this March when we are there. This time we are setting two alarms and possibly doing a wake-up call:) I really want to see the sun rise over the castle and possibly get picks.

I'm scared they won't do it in early June! I am not a morning person, but I magically become one at Disney. ;) Fingers crossed for early openings on both of our trips.

Is this only a MK thing? We will be there during spring break as well after two July visits, and we love the parks in the morning!

over Christmas week, EMH at the other parks were also 7 am. The 2 I did (MK and AK) we're not light crowds, even at rope drop. However, once in the park, we found things to be walk on. (EE and PW in AK and Dumbo, Barnstormer, Pooh, and Buzz in MK.) by 8, lines were long enough that we started using our FP.

Thanks for the info! This will surely change our pre-park opening breakfast plans.

We did MK at 7am EMH on 12/20 and as many others stated, highly recommend it. Truth be told, we actually didn't get to MK until 7:25am (we had unexpected delay) but still it was well worth it. Clearly the crowds started pouring in by 10:30am but we got a lot done in those hours. We also did *not* do FP+ for MK as I saved them HS later that night since we were park hopping later (which I also highly recommend if you are park hopping later). Sadly Haunted Mansion was down and although it didn't impact us so was It's a Small World. We did the Mine Train at opening and only waited about 20-30 mins and didn't even get there first thing. We had a lunch ADR at LTT and got there at 11am and no issues at all. We then left MK around 12:30pm and loved it.

Ps. Forgot to add, yes - when they changed the park opening to 7am EMH we also had to let go of our "pre-park opening BOG at 8am" but nothing you can do about it.

When will they post these spring break changes? When do you realize the changes were made for Christmas?

We went on 12/22 and didn't get there until 7:45, and even after stopping at Starbucks still walked onto buzz and pooh. We had FPs for the late am and a lunch ressie at BOG. It was a nice mellow morning, much less crazy than I expected for xmas week.
