7 am EMH?!!

We are also heading down and will be there over MLK weekend. Maybe I'm missing something but where do you see a 7am EMH at MK? EMH are Sunday the 17th but the park opens at 9 which would make it 8am with the EMH??

OP: 7am EMH are the cats meow if you have napping kids! We had ridden every single ride by 11 am (several multiple times). Ate lunch at 11, then hopped on a boat to the GF for nap time by noon. We all slept, then felt refreshed and ready to go for dinner and a park in the evening!

There is an EMH on the 17th? I don't see it. I only EMH on the 17th is Disney Hollywood Studios, at least according to all the time guides I've found.

I'm scared they won't do it in early June! I am not a morning person, but I magically become one at Disney. ;) Fingers crossed for early openings on both of our trips.

I could be wrong, but I think a 7:00 am EMH would only occur during extremely busy times like Christmas, Easter, Spring break, and maybe 4th of July (and actually, the OP is seeing it for MLK weekend).

The OP never said that she saw a 7am EMH at MK, only that she saw a 7am EMH - I think subsequent posters just assumed it was at MK. ;) There is a 7am EMH at AK on the 16th and at DHS on the 17th.

We avoid EMH by visiting a non EMH park on those days. Sorry but we are all day park visitors from RD to close (and do not park hop), but 7am is not worth the total disruption of sleep that can impact us for days after. We get the same early advantage on non-EMH days by RDing at regular open.

On one of our trips in October a couple of years ago, we were trying to make the morning show right before 8:00am and got there around 7:30am. We were waiting and waiting and no show. Then we realized that people kept walking in and doh!!! They had all ready opened the park! We were staying onsite but totally missed that they had emh at 7:00!! Bummed for a minute but it was still good cause the crowd was so light. Lesson learned...always, always double check park hours!!

Normally, we avoid it too. But you just can't avoid it when travelling to the MK during the second half of December when they have 7am EMH for 14 days in a row.

Did 7am at studios thanksgiving week and it was great! Walk on TSMM, then walk on RnR then ToT. All before 8! Then great movie ride and a few rides on Star Wars and we looked at each other because there was nothing else to do until Dinner reservations and Osborn lights and Fantasmic. So we hopped on a boat to Epcot at 10ish and spent the day there until our evening stuff at Studios. We didn't use our fast pass times since we had done it all.

I'm also going MLK weekend...I honestly don't think there will be *that* many people.

It's January--slow season in Disney and I got round trip tickets from Philly to Orlando for $99 (on American, so not a budget line) so that tells me the demand isn't that high.

I bought into one of those theme park visitor trackers and the only park that went from green to yellow was Magic Kingdom and it was for Saturday only.

Regardless, I always take advantage of EMH!!

12/22/15 7:00 a.m. rope drop! It was a gorgeous morning. Lots of walk-ons and we took our time just soaking

.

No, you're right. However, summer is generally considered to be a busy time, so I think there's a chance. All that needs to happen is for them to bump up the opening time to 8am, which they actually did do in June this year. However, I'll only get a 7am if they bump up a day that already has EMH scheduled. :) My 7am for this year was in mid-March.

I was updating our spreadsheet for my family (we arrive Thursday, in parks Friday - Sunday) and the app had updated park hours for almost all the parks. Friday, EMH at MK are 8 am, park open at 9 am. BUT Saturday EMH at AK are 7 am, park open at 8 am and Sunday EMH at DHS are 7 am, park open at 8 am. Plus, they extended the closing times for a lot of the parks too. Friday, DHS is open until 8:30 instead of 7 and EMH are from 8:30-10:30. I've been checking the online calendar for months and just saw these updates yesterday.
Would someone else look and tell me I'm not crazy?? :)

You're not crazy lol! We arrive Fri the 15th and are in the parks Sat-Tues. the hours you listed above all look correct and current. I noticed them prior to yesterday -I didn't check again right now but they look exactly like what I saw last time I looked, which was earlier today :thumbsup2 Going to HS on the 17th but not sure I want to get up to be there for 7......

We did a 7am early entry over Thanksgiving and it was awesome! We did everything we wanted all before lunch! Sure, the 5am wake up is painful but sooooo worth it in the end.

I'm truly not being snarky here, but this is exactly why 7am EMH is so awesome...you are in definitely in the majority! :) But it really isn't the same early advantage. There are more people who will be there for 8am regular opening (including off-site) than 7am.

We did 7am emh on New Years day. We were at our bus stop at 10 to 6 but didn't get a bus till 6:35 so we missed the morning welcome show - I was so disappointed! But even still we got a dozen attractions done by 9am (including mine train and the mountains), so it was totally worth it.
