7/31/04 Rollcall

Still trying to decide which tours, if any we are going to go on. Does anyone know of any sites that has reviews of the various excursions? I've had a look, but can't find anything so far.

3 o'clock at the goofy pool, should be fine as long as we don't get caught up in the excitement of everything else. I really want to hear the ships horn playing that special tune. We missed it on our last cruise.

we can recommend Captain Marvin's in Cayman for the stingray tour - our whole family went on it two years ago and I still read good things about it - my wife, daughter and I are already reserved for the half day outing for this cruise (actually, I didn't get to go the last time as I was in charge of the mother-in-law - but my wife and daughter went - wife was very impressed with how good they were with little kids (daughter was 2 at the time) - my older sister used Captain Marvin's 10 years ago as well so they've been in business a long time. It is a short walk from the pier (where the tender ships drop you) to Captain Marvin's office - the half day is over around 1 - so you're back downtown in time for lunch and some shopping in Georgetown, a little time on the 7 mile beach or simply returning to the ship.

We are doing the following excursions:

KW: Trolley tour
GC: Seaworld Explorer Semi Sub
Cozumel: Chankanaab Sea Lion Discovery
CC: relaxing on the beach, floats and snorkeling

Goofy Pool at 3:00 sounds good for us too.

Hey Scott, I'm pretty sure the ship's horn goes off when we depart at the deck party (which is at the Goofy pool) around 5pm. Once the drill is over if you head up to the top deck you shouldn't miss anything.

Capt Marvins is sounding quite good and I'm sure my wife and son (7) will enjoy it. IS Marvins best bookable direct with them, or is it something to book via Disney?

Our very first cruise was the 3 nighter and we did not do any excursions.

We shall be at the goofy pool for 3pm.

I look forward to meeting you all. We shall be the people that nobody can understand for the first day or two untill we adjust to talking a little bit slower and with less accent.

I booked directly with them - www.captainmarvins.com. They have a secure web site - it's worked twice before for us so we did it the same way this time.

3 PM goofy pool - we'll have drinks in our hand no doubt. Do we need a sign?

we're not doing any other excursions - walking around Key West - if the jumping cat guy is still at the resort hotel right by where the ship ties up - he is entertaining and the hotel will of course sell you a drink - and you're right next to the square with the other entertainers, etc.

cozumel - I may get off to go in and buy some good Mexican vanilla - the carlos & charlies places are too loud for me - we'll see if the daughter wants to fo anything or hand out in the club/pools on cozumel port day - the same holds true for CC - we might rent a bike but I doubt we do anything organized - I'd like to snorkel some - again, all depends on the daughter - though frankly we anticipate she'll be in the club all the time and have no interest whatsoever in what we are doing.

LOL Scott, those of us with teenagers have already learned about understanding other cultures.

groan, we still have that joy ahead of us when our currently darling six year old turns into a two headed wild monster when he reaches his teens.

At least that's what my parents say I was like.

our 4 year old daughter is 4 going on 14 as is so Scott's 6 year old son better watch out! (her current career choices are Cheerleader and Rockstar - which tells me she's been spending too much time with her teenage cousins!)

I'm so glad everyone will try to make it to the "DISmeet!" How about if we all wear a certain color so we can find each other! What do you suggest?

We picked up the little green mickey heads from Home Depot. They can be stuck so your shirt or anywhere else for that matter.

We will try and meet you guys at the pool as well, unless my DW already planned something for us!

Scott, we are doing Capt. Marvins as well. We have a 2 DS, 4 and 7. I think we are on the 11:15, 2 hour tour.

Is anyone doing the Dune Buggy Tour on Cozumel? It sounds great but we are a bit concerned that it will be too long of a day for our 4 year old.

5by5

I shall confirm with DW that we are going to go on the Capt Marvin trip, if so 5by5 the 1115hrs trip sounds good to me too. Souns like it will finish at a good time.

As there are no home depot's in the UK I might struggle to find the green mickey's, but I shall watch for everyone elses.

Just booked with Captain Marvins for the 11:15 tour. Now I am really getting excited about this trip. I don't think we are going to plan any excursions anywhere else just wing it.

Is anyone artistic? Someone can make a cute sign for us to look for at the pool for the meet.

See you all soon.

Patti

We did captain Marvin's last summer and it was really good so.... I just wrote an email to join the 11:15 group! I'll let you know if I get it!

Whooooopppppppppeeeeeeeeeeee!

This cruise is just around the corner!!!!!!!!!!!

Did anyone else happen to notice how many more catagories opened up after we passed the 60 day window on DCL's website? When I checked, there was availability in all but I think 2 cats.

OK just emailed Capt Marvins to reserve the 2hr trip at 1115hrs, hopefully we will get on.

Not sure if I've done the introduction thing before, but here goes anyway.

Travelling shall be my DW Karen, my DS Grant (age 7), and myself Scott.

This is second cruise ever, and our first seven night cruise. We are staying the night before departure at the Radisson at the Port. After the cruise we are staying a further seven nights at Disney Boardwalk Villa's.

Looking forward to meeting everyone at the Goofy Pool (3pm). My son is looking forward to making new friends also, last cruise he was a little bit young and did not want to play in Kid's areas. This time he hopefully will.

See you all real soon!

Hi Scott, I have an 8 year old son who is planning on hanging out in the club, not the lab. Believe it or not, he wants to be in the same place as his younger sister. He is pretty small for his age, so he will blend in well. Plus, I feel better knowing that he will be there to keep an eye on her. It will be great for him to meet up with another kid his age from the beginning.
