7/31/04 Rollcall

I'm 44, wife 47 daughter will be 4 when the cruise begins. We decided to go this year as the 3-4 age group activities looked like our daughter would really enjoy them (and we'll probably be back for the 5-7 age group in a couple of years if this cruise goes well!)

Im 51 turn 52 on the ship, DH 46 and DS 11. Sounds like we have a bunch of kids in the same age group. Hopefully they will meet and have a great time.

I think a bunch of us are on deck 5.

Wow, time flies when you're having fun!!!.....80 days folks!!!

Getting so close now. We are all very excited about this trip. I have everything ready, just waiting on the tickets to arrive, and ofcourse the packing.

But I'm sure I've spied my DW sneaking some things into the suitcases already. I'm more of a last minute packer.

Well the final payment is due to the travel agent this upcoming Friday, May 21. You would think I'd be more concerned about letting go of that much money - but, I'm NOT. I am ready, ready.

I agree with you DisneyBill ~ I'm not thinking of the $ either, I'm just thinking that it's one more step toward the cruise!

I'm going through finals right now... it's been a little bit easier lately because I haven't had as much time to think about how many more days left and to be on the DIS boards as much. I couldn't believe it when I logged on last night and saw that there were only 77 days left!!! whooohoooo!

75 big ones folks!!!!!!!!!! Whoopeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're on second seating, the DDs like to sleep late!

Hello all 7/31 Western Cruisers! I'm feeling a little frustrated with the DIS Board the last few days and I just want to know if anyone else is feeling this way... and if not, please enlighten me!

This is our first cruise as a family. There are 8 of us going with 3 rooms, so the expense has been very high... when I booked this cruise with Disney it was because of the positive comments and the "family feel" of the cruise.

The negative comments (from people who have just returned) are getting me down. From the food being terrible to this mornings post on "do you know where your teen is?" (I will have 2 of them on this cruise)... I'm just tired of it! Why are they on the Disney Boards if they don't have anything positive to say???

Okay, thank you for letting me vent. I realize that the Disney Cruise isn't for everyone... but come on people, some of us haven't gotten to go yet!

I want some positive feed back.... can someone continue to tell me how great it is and I made the right choice?

Innerpc,

Like you said it is all what you make of it. We went 2 years ago on the eastern and had a blast. My son was nine then and he is really looking forward to going again. The food was good. We are really easy to please.

By the way we are on late seating for dinner.

Patti

My last 3 cruises have been amazing!

My teenaged DDs enjoy alot of freedom on the cruise. Each time, I have sailed, there is one night where they come home later than curfew and I have to go out and look for them. After I "ground" them the following night, I have no further problems. Your children will act the way they act at home. There may be a few "wilder" kids onboard but they are few and far between. Just arrange check-ins with them and make them stick to them.

What has really been cool for my girls is the friends they've met on the ship from all over the country. They continue to IM them, months after the cruise. One guy took my daughter to the Fall dance. (He drove up from an hour away - he was a really nice kid.)

These cruises are really expensive! There is no way I would keep coming if we weren't having a blast!!

This our second cruise, the first being the 3 night cruise a couple of years back, we thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and had no issues with irresponsible behaviour - although as is the habit with teens it will happen occasionally.

As of last night, I am "PAID IN FULL"! Now, the countdown to June 1st to reserve the shore excursions.

Everybody else finish paying yet?

I payed yesterday too! Now we just get to wait for our documents. Don't those come fairly soon after we'd paid?

The docs usually come about a month before the cruise. The key dates now are that 60 days out, you can call to reserve shore excursions. At 30 days out, Disney reserves your airfare (if you are letting DCL handle that). You can call the air travel desk to find out your reservation number, so that you can call the airline itself to reserve your seating.
