I just booked this fantastic cruise today! My Mom, Hubby, DD (age 6) and I will be possibly be going to the ABD pre-cruise Barcelona trip as well. Anyone looking to do this? What about excursions?

I am so so excited....

I look forward to hearing from all of you Disney cruise experts... I feel like I am going into this without enough time to research or know what to plan or expect.... LOL...

There's press reports (see here) of a new (faster) train link from Paris to Barcelona - 6 hrs 17 mins vs the current 12 hours - which might open up some alternate travel options before or after the cruise, even from the UK.

As there is a number if you do consider private tours it could be cheaper stop where you want and drop what you do not want to do.

Rome, Athens and Kusadasi are prime places to do this.

So nice to have you on board as well.
We are not going to do the ABD as I booked us into a hotel in Barcelona three nights before the cruise and we will be exploring on our own. And we still have not decided on excursions either. We have another cruise in February and after that one I will get into full planning mode for this one.

Just ask if you have any questions. I am sure someone on here will be able to help you out.

You are going to love DCL - their service is just outstanding. We only wanted to cruise once in a lifetime, that was in the summer of 2009. This cruise will be no 14 for us and all on DCL.
So, be prepared to be bitten by the DCL cruise bug.

Does anyone know the price of the ABD add-on?

I'm not sure of the price, but our family has been on the waitlist for the on-board ADB add-on since last August. Really hoping it comes through - I'd much prefer having the excursion planning done for me.

Finally getting into planning mode. Airfare is so expensive, but I guess its time to book. Any advice on how to find the best fares? I found the link to the Facebook page and just joined so forgive me if this discussion all ready occurred there. Thanks!

Finally getting into planning mode. Airfare is so expensive, but I guess its time to book. Any advice on how to find the best fares? I found the link to the Facebook page and just joined so forgive me if this discussion all ready occurred there. Thanks!

My advice is to look at all airlines - if you haven't done so already, try European ones, Spanish ones, or via London.

Many airlines have sales now, Iberia and BA code share, and you might be able to add in a stop over in London.

Our group: Myself, DH, DD16, DS12, and my folks.
