7/25/2013 Med. Mickey's 12 Night Italian Job - with Nice, Valletta and Dubrov !

We were assigned room 7539 .... Was hoping for an upgrade offer, but we will make the best of it!!! :)

Just remember there is more than one hop on hop off operator in Barcelona so if you pre-buy make sure you know which one you are getting - I know it sounds obvious, but have seen it in London where people are adamant that is what they have booked only to discover it was a different operator! There is a slight difference. We have gone with the one that has a stop at the Glories Agbar tower (or something to that effect) which is very close to the Novotel we are staying in

Thanks For the warning, Celestine! We are staying at the Hilton Diagonal Mar which, I believe, is near the Forum. From what I gather, only one "hop on" service (the one with three lines - red, blue and green) goes as far east as the Forum. Hopefully, I've read this right. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

It appears that I just show my "printed off" voucher to the bus driver. It's a little unclear. Can anyone verify this?

Thanks!
Kim

Hi everyone looks like there are lots of new people since I was last on. I keep having more health issues pop up so it is preventing me from planning as much as I usually do. We were able to get an upgrade from deck 2 ocean view to deck 7 with a verandah. Excited about that as I love going out there first thing in the morning and watching us pull into port. We decided to do all DCL excursions so if in the middle of the trip I am not doing good we can at least cancel mine and my mom and brother can still go. As for Barcelona we are playing it be ear. The plan is to explore La Rambla, use the hop on hop off bus to do some exploring and to spend a little time at the beach. As with everything in my life lately that is up in the air and can change depending on how I am feeling. I am just grateful my doctors are letting me go on this trip and am looking forward to whatever I get to do. Only 47 more days till we leave they need to go by quickly.

My printed voucher says that it will be exchanged on the bus for tickets and I've bought "the red bus bearing the name Barcelona City Tour"!

hi did someone says there is a facebook page for this cruise

We're in 7002. Anybody else on 7?

Generally, we have been on deck 2 when on the Magic. I like deck 2, but I'm ready to try other decks.
We didn't get to choose, they just assigned us. Looks like a good room.

Hi Figment_Fan :cool1:we are on deck 7 as well cabin 7127. We were on this deck last year on the Dream and it really suited us so we chose it again.

That's good to know thank you, will be very careful which one I prebook.

All right, some of us are on deck 7. Look forward to the decorated doors.

Speaking of which, looks like the Disney paint was picked up by Walmart. Used to be at Home Depot. DW used to go pick up some of the sample colors (shaped like a Mickey head) cut them out and glue them to the magnetic strips. Made those easy to do.

She checked at Walmart and told me they just have regular color samples and not Mickey shaped ones. I guess Disboarders must have taken too many in the past.

Anyway, MeeskaMooska, we are staying at the Hilton Diagonal Mar and I am trying to figure out the HOHO bus system. I'm confused. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. What color line to what color line. I just want to get to La Sagrad Familia and Las Ramblas.

The Green line of the Barcelona Bus Turistic goes to the Forum. You can "hop on" any of the lines (blue, red or green) and use any stop, however, only a few of the stops have more than one "color" servicing it. In other words, there are just a few "transfer" points.

Here's a link that I hope works:

http://bcnshop.barcelonaturisme.com/Barcelona-Bus-Turistic

For above link, click on "tours and visits" tab, then on the left side of the screen, scroll down to Barcelona Bus Touristic under "Guided Bus Tours".

Thanks, that's the link I finally found last night, couldn't make heads or tails of it. (I got confused - not unusual). I'll just continue to stare at it and hopefully make sense of it.

Figment, in order to answer your question further, it looks like you would have to take the green line, to the red, to the blue to reach Sagrada Familia. We are going to Sagrada on the back end of the cruise and just take a cab or the metro there. We are going to do the "hop on" bus on arrival day for Las Ramblas, etc.

Hello. It's me again! We are getting closer to our cruise. :cool1: Just a quick reminder that if you plan on participating in FE....the CUT-OFF DATE IS JUNE 8TH.

I have recently received a lot of room numbers (thank you). No room number yet? No problem. I also have one or two new additions. I see people are getting upgrades. If you are receiving a room upgrade and you are on the FE list, please let me know of your change.

Please Please check the list (link in my signature) and make sure all of your information is correct!

No upgrade for us, cabin 5629 -

Apologies. Tried to send PM but apparently I don't have enough posts to send a PM? Aaargh. Following is an add request for Fish Extender group.

We were assigned room 7539 .

Gotcha! :thumbsup2

Hi, we just got our cabin numbers for our GTY's, 7020 and 6521. No pixie dust sadly!!

Which room for FE? Thanks! :thumbsup2

As always, the "main" information for FE is in Post 363 Page 25 which I update periodically with new information and the "list" is always in my signature. :goodvibes

NEW INFORMATION:

 I wanted to mention that rather than have gifts distributed all on the first day, you might want to consider giving your gift on other days of the cruise. Some gifts are "for" the cruise and should be delivered on the first or second day. However, some gifts such as: keychain from your state, candy bar, etc. are gifts that "could" be delivered throughout the cruise. It is nice to find gifts throughout the cruise. This by no means is this mandatory. It is all up to the individual as to when you deliver gifts. I just like to always throw that out there as a suggestion! :flower3:

Hi, Can I just say on behalf of all FE participants thank you for organising it.
Looking forward to finalising things after this weekend.

Hi folks.
From memory if you buy your 1 or 2 day tickets for the ho-ho buses you can change between the 3 lines throughout the day(s). One of the routes does stop at La Sagrada Familia.
Most of the city centre is also "walkable" as we ended up walking out to La Sagrada Familia in around 20 mins from Placa de Catalunya. We ended up missing out on the western hill route as there had been a spectacular thunderstorm which brought down trees and flooded roads and that route had to be cancelled for a while. That's partly why we walked around the city that day.

Thank you! Thank you! I needed the simple: green to red to blue.

Which line goes to Las Ramblis?

Oh, and, I looked at the FE list - lots of us are on 7. Maybe we can arrange for drinks to be brought down to the deck 7 laundry.

How do you recommend going after an upgrade? Is it even possible to upgrade now? Or is the only option the infamous shot at a "port upgrade"? :confused3

I like how you think! Assuming you don't mind if deck 6 joins you. Just ordered my Purex 3 in 1 sheets so that's half the battle.:wave2:
