Morning All

I think I've pulled a muscule in my back as I've got bad pain runnung from my neck, behind my shoulder blade down to my kidneys :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Have a good Sunday everyone

So sorry to hear that:grouphug:

If it is just the muscle it should feel better soon (rest and heat). If it doesn't -it might be a disc problem and you may need to see a doc.

I would get muscle spasms in my neck that were very painful. I would alternate ice packs and heating pads until I felt better. The ice would keep the inflammation down and the heating pad would be good to relax the muscle.

We did the DCL insurance too. Since we are buying airfare separate, I guess we'll to have to have separate insurance for that. Hmm, might have to rethink this.

I just bought trip insurance. Travelex Travel-lite. It cost about the same as the Disney and gave a bit more coverage.

What did you all do for travel insurance :confused3

I was able to get one through insuremytrip.com that covered all three cruises and the airfare, for slightly more than DCL wanted for one trip:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 The reason was, I think, that the place I went with considered it all one trip and based it on the total cost, while DCL is doing each cruise separately as a different trip.

I've never bought trip insurance for any trip we've taken.
When I priced it out for our cruise this past summer it was almost $1000. for the 3 of us.

We got ours for our last 2 cruises through insuremytrip.com too. I think we chose one of the Travelex plans too, but I can't remember for sure. I thought it sounded like good coverage for the price. We'll get it again for this trip after we pick up our flights next summer.

We always have travel insurance as coming over your way even a plaster costs a fortune and I seem to have the most accident prone family when on holiday.

Also I learnt my lesson 5 years back when we booked an expensive skiing trip to Whistler, Canada for Christmas/New Year and 5 months before we were due to leave Paul was diagnosed with cancer and obviously we had to cancel the trip. We didn't have any travel insurance that far out from the trip and it looked like we were going to lose everything. Luckily I managed to talk BA and the hotel into into rescheduling the flight and hotel booking for 1 year later so we didn't lose out but it was a close run thing and I will NEVER make that mistake again.

Oh yes
Good Morning Ballyhoo'ers, Happy Monday

My back still hurts so I'm about to pop some ibuprofen as I've got to sit at my desk all day and I don't suppose that will help.

I think I've left my mobile phone and the nail shop so I'll ring them at 10am and hopefully one of the staff found it on Saturday and they've put it away, rather than the alternative that some unknown body found it and I've lost it forever. I don't mind about losing the phone it's just all my contacts and stuff in the address book and the photos on it that will be a pain to loose. :sad1:

Morning, everyone -- I will keep an eye on this elderly thread today :goodvibes

As for travel insurance, if you are willing to risk the very small chance that something will happen and you will have to pay out of pocket (and if you would be OK if you did have to), you will save a lot -- obviously, with all insurance most people never end up using it, which is how to companies make a profit.

Izzi, sorry your back is still painful:flower3: :flower3: :flower3: but great that you found your phone!

GOOD MORNING!!!!

Izzi, glad to hear your phone was found! I hope your back is feeling much better soon. Make sure you walk around every once in awhile at work today.

Good Morning America!
Good Afternoon Great Britain!

Great tip will definitely save me money!:thumbsup2

Update on the phone......It's been found, exactly where I left it
Izzie I am going to send you a lucky penny you need it!;)

As Christmas and Channukah coincide this year does anyone fancy doing a Ballyhooers holiday card exchange ???

A reminder

You PM me your full name and postal address, as do all the other people who want to participate. I then compile a list with all that information and send it out to all the people on the list. You then send a christmas/channukah/holiday card to all the people on the list and you should get one back from all the people on the list.

It's a nice way to bring us all closer together and celebrate the holidays and it also great fun to see the cards coming through the door as they won't all be coming from the same country. :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:

I've been asked by a couple of Ballyhooers to give an exact cutoff date as they wish to order really, really extra special cards to send to us ;) ;) So if you wish to be sociable and holidaylicious please can you PM me your postal details by November 13th 2008 :grouphug:

Some Ballyhooers have told me what holiday they celebrate if I was going to list that information. I don’t think I’m going to for the following reasons.

1. We are all friends and the cards are being sent in the spirit of friendship

2. I am Jewish and I only buy and send Channukah cards to all my friends regardless of their religious belief. At the same time I don’t expect my non Jewish friends to send me anything other than the same Christmas cards they are sending to all their other friends as it’s the friendship and joy we are sharing which is important message here not what picture is on the front of the card.

We now have 14 holidaylicious people who wish to participate in this card exchange....for those of you who haven't yet PM'd me this is a reminder that you only have 3 more days to join in. :santa: :santa: :santa:

I have done DCL, but I also have an Annual one as well which covers me and my familiy anywhere.

We did the DCL insurance too. Since we are buying airfare separate, I guess we'll to have to have separate insurance for that. Hmm, might have to rethink this.

We got ours through insuremytrip.com too-It was great to compare the different policies side by side. Now that I think of it, I compared Travelex to AccessAmerica (which is what DCL uses I think) and they were pretty close with Travelex coming ahead. But I don't know for sure what DCL would have charged us.
Normally we go through DCL to make sure any preexisting conditions are taken care of, but since we are spending so much on airfare (not through DCL) I wanted to make sure our flights were covered too:confused3

I'm a year and half from my breast cancer diagnosis (totally good now:goodvibes ), but it makes you realize how these things kinda sneak up on you.
Our tablemates on the PC Repo had to leave early because one of their party was sick and they were very glad they had the trip insurance:sad2:

Watch out for the ibuprofen. I think that was part of the problem for our tablemate on our last cruise. She was in so much pain from a fall that she took too much ibuprofen and it caused her stomach to bleed and made her anemic.:scared: Make sure you drink a lot of water with it at least.
There are disposable heating pads that stick to your back like a bandaid. I used those to get me through work and they stay warm for almost 8 hours.

Hope you feel better soon:flower3:
