Hey I use that pen too !!!! I was thinking maybe we could get some gel braclets as all the kids and some of the men think they are "cool" :cool1: :cool1: to wear and they generally didn't wear/use the lanyards

One can always use a luggage tag or 2.
Pens are always good, but I don't know if the logo will fit - wonder if we can make it work? :confused3 But at least we can put the name on them.

Jumping in for a quick hello on my first break! Things are going well, we're all just trying to get back in the swing of things!

I ordered a ton of stuff for our FE in December from Vistaprint: sticky notes, pens, magnets, stickers, etc. I uploaded Disney/DCL designs and had them printed. They all turned out very nice. The company shipped very quickly. You can find lots of coupon codes for their stuff by just googling. I also ordered personalized Sharpies from sharpie.com to add to the "cruise essentials" bags I made up with stuff like a 1st aid kit, Downy wrinkle release, a small lint roller, a small tube of sunscreen, a highlighter, a small packet of Tide (I put that in a small ziplock), a packet of Shout stain remover, an emory board, a pack of gum, a tube of chapstick, small pack of q-tips and dental floss sticks. They are all very small sample sizes and things I think people could really use. The FE recipients I received (each of our FE groups was divided into 8 staterooms) are all adults this time so I wanted to get stuff I didn't think they'd throw out.

On our Med cruise one of my friends got lime green rubber bracelets made with our cruise dates and they went over well. Another one of our members made nice name tags for everyone at our cruise meets. We had a great turn out at the meet on a sea day and Capt Tom came for pictures with our group.

Ok, it's not the best picture of the sample, but I went to Vista print to see how the image would look on a similar pen to the ones I purchased and this is what it would look like:

FAB photos Julie....thanks for posting them

Wow Julie,

Fabulous pictures of the gouls and adorable pics of your daughter (and Linus)!
:

Thanks -- a really good photographer like Laura would do a better job -- it's fairly dark with lots of smoke and they are moving around a bit so my photos look a little blurry . . .

I'll try and post some of the other stuff I had done on Vistaprint to show how they turned out (I thought they turned out pretty nice). The nice thing with Vistaprint is there is no minimum # to purchase---an no I don't work for them with all the raving I've done about them! Some are slightly blurry in these images, but in person they are very clear. The Disboards one, Cruising with Mickey and the Gang and the Yo-ho ones are magnets that I cropped into smaller squares. I used a couple pictures that I took on past cruises (the ship and Mickey in his cruise uniform) and some I found on the creative DISign thread. It was $4.99 to use an uploaded image so I used the same image a few times to avoid the extra $4.99 costs.

The calendars are magnets. The squares are sticky pads. I also had postcards made of the ship and the Pirate Mickey image. I couldn't help it when they kept sending me coupons for 100 free if I paid S& H.

All the other males were sitting in a bar :drinking1 and missed the boat. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Typical Male behavior - give them a beer and they go ga-ga! :rotfl2:

We did the Christmas Magic 10 day special in 2006. I have to say although the boat looked lovely with the decorations I don't remeber the cruise being all tha special. In fact I'd say that our Med cruise was a million times better but I think that's probably all down to the people on board :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I was wondering about this. A Christmas cruise sounds wonderful but is it really worth spending the extra money? As I said, I would love to do one but I'm going to have to wait until after mom is no longer with us - I think she'd kill me if I went away from those 2 holidays. Isn't it funny how we hate to disappoint our mothers? :scratchin - wonder what happened with my kids? :rotfl2: Just Kidding! :)

Ditto!WE have been to Disney for all holidays except NYEve!! We always travel in high season because I teach. WE are in Disney every Easter and love it. Im not sure about this year as we just bought furniture and have tuition for the first time with Carley in Catholic High School.I am also feeling the economy guilt! I think if you are veterans and stay on property and have seen it all, the crowds are not a concern because you flow with them. We are always in the park at opening, leave mid day to enjoy the pool and come back to epcot for dinner each night, and more park time.

Sallie - out here we are FACTS (basically automated payments - they start in July and end in April - we get 2 months off before we start. Also, I estimate that we went from $5100 just 2 years ago to $6200 (and that's not even counting the mandatory parents hours! ) :scared1: Be prepared - be very prepared! I feel like doing this :faint: every time a new month rolls around.

You can see Linus's costume here . . .

OH How cute! See - Im not the only crazy momma here - although I was a bit  about walking Isis with her hot dog costume but she didn't seem to mind it. She did however, mind the angel wings and halo - quite appropriate for a dog that is black ....and white.

Good luck on your first day back, Caroline!!!!!

Izzy, I love the luggage tag idea. You never have enough of those darn things. Maybe we could do that and something else that we could wear so we could identify eachother on the ship. Maybe something simple like a sort of card that we could slip in the clear pocket of a lanyard (we've all got tons of those) - similar to the name tag we did on the Med, but maybe with just the graphic instead.

You are much more creative than I and may get more ideas when you research. I still use the pen (I think it was from Jeanne???) and it reminds me of our Med cruise. Ahhhhhhh.

Hope your first day back was a good one! :flower3:

I agree we all have lanyards but please can we order some? I need to add to my collection for each specialty cruise. If no one wants to head this up I guess I can find out from a friend who ordered on the EB PC. The problem I think - unless we go with Danielle's suggestions (if they do lanyards) is that they usually require a minimum and price discounts don't occur until after several 100's right?

Jumping in for a quick hello on my first break! Things are going well, we're all just trying to get back in the swing of things!

Hope things go smoothly the rest of the day! :cloud9:

OH! Love the idea of the pens. One observation that I noticed - we ordered them on the last cruise - your right - men and boys tend to wear them more but they are harder to see unless you put tons of them on your wrist. Especially if we are going to wear long sleeves. I bought some on the last cruise, wore them for about 3 days and then kept forgetting to put them on. The lanyard you can't forget because you have to get off the ship or use them to hold your buying card. Anyone else with an observation of their own?

I really like these. Please can we have some? :rotfl: I used my Med pen up within 3 months. I thought it was Mary Jo? Was it her or Jeanne?

Thanks Julie but I end up having to use (for my night shots) a monopod or tripod as my wrists are giving out. They do help but then again so does having an image stablizer lens. But shooting in the dark is one of the hardest things to do for me. You have got to be super still and smooth - and not having much patience, that is like being Superwoman for 1 second.

BTW, where was this parade held? I know you mentioned it before but I forgot - love the ambiance.

You are good. That does look good on the pens. :thumbsup2

It's at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine on the west side of Manhattan . . . for Halloween they show a silent movie with live organ accompaniment (this year, Phantom of the Opera; other years, Nosferatu or the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari) and then when it is over the procession of the ghouls start. It is very cool and worth it to get there early and be on an aisle, as I was, because the ghouls interact with people near them and the place is enormous -- so not everyone is that close. It's a ticketed event and sells out two showings every year.

Here's the other logo on a pen:
livepreview123.jpg

The pens looked nice, a well known Travel agent around here gave out pens for free on the 07/28 Med cruise, with our thread title on it.

One of the cruisers was Mary Joe who works for Dreams and these boards,

We also, had visits on our thread from the great almighty,,,,,,well we must not mention her name........ lets just say,,,, TF. :flower3:

Now we've got our logo I'm going to see if I can source some promo goods that we can have it on i.e luggage tags, lanyards, gel bands etc. As we've got loads, and loads and loads of time here if anyone as got any ideas on any "group" promo items let me know.

Maybe something like this? http://www.empirepromos.com/items/WaterproofSunKit14891.php

I routinely use these waterproof cases - just right for the kttw card, driver's license and some cash for shore excursions.
