I looked up pricing online for the hotels I mentioned. It is definitely cheaper to book yourself!

But if you can find a place for a family of 6 in the heart of London (close to Harods Convenient to Portabello Road) gotta make the wife & daughters happy!:lmao:

I am thinking about coming over 5 to 7 days before the Cruise, thinking about taking the bullet train to DLP for a day or 2?

You might want to look at doing a weekly rental for a flat. There's been times we've had trouble finding a room for 3 people, I couldn't imagine trying to find a room for 6. :scared1:
As long as you are near a tube station, Harrods is close to any place to stay. To keep you happy there, you can go to the Green Man Pub that is right by the food halls. :drinking1

Have you been to DLP?

Have you been to DLP?

Yup in 2007 before our Med Cruise! We stayed at the castle club for a week!

They have an english breakfast every day Lots meat!!!! :rotfl2:

I asked family about going back, I got a luke warm response!:dance3:

I think a week in London might be to much with the younger ones!:sad2: :dance3:

No need at least 2 rooms! Cannot go drinking unless I can bring the little ones!:grouphug:

We should have a Dis Indian food Meet YUM!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Greetings:yay:

We've officially transfered our dummy booking to this cruise and are so exited to see so many from the EB PC Repo:woohoo:

Do I pm the OP with my info for page 1 ?

It's me (Laurie), DH (Darren), DS (Andrew-will be 16 in 2010), DD (Kelly -will be 13 in 2010).

We're living in Northern Viginia, but DH and I are originally from NY (me- Long Island and Darren -Yorktown Heights).

We are hoping to arrive in London a couple days before the cruise so that we can sightsee a little. Has anybody made plans for a pre-cruise London stay yet ?

WELCOME WELCOME, Nice to see another 'family' memeber back.

We've been to DLP twice and I can wait to go back for a few more years. We were 1st there 3 weeks after they opened and then again 5½ years ago.
We stayed at the Newport Bay Beach Club and I was less than impressed, hotel was not well kept. I was glad I had a half price room and free entry into the parks (at least for me) after seeing how bad the hotel was. It was disappointing to see it run down. I hope they've improved the hotels since we were there. But it wasn't just that one, it was all of them.

I'm waiting for my brother to ask me if we are going to make a trip over there since we will be in London. He and his family have never been to DLP.

I think you will be fine for a week in London, even with the little ones. I would recommend you take 1 or 2 days and travel outside the city. We love Stratford for a relaxing day out - that is a very doable day trip from London on the train.

We should have a Dis Indian food Meet YUM!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

A DIS meet at the Absolut Icebar :cold: :drinking: is another thought. They have drinks for the kiddos.
We are going to go to the one in London since we will have more time there then to try and fit it in to the day in Stockholm.

I have been to DLP twice now both for five days and both staying at the excellent Hotel New York, Disney's, second level hotel to the Disneyland hotel.

Once was at Halloween and it was great to see the park dressed up for that, and once was in May this year,

I found our hotel both times I have high standards, in fact I was a bit disappointed when I went into the Disneyland hotel for a meal, the pool at the NY and meals imho are better than DL Hotel.

We go by Eurostar train direct to Marne La Vallee-Chesey station @ DLP, and thats a great quick ride.

Note

Be careful when you mention 'Stratford' I assume you mean Stratford-upon-Avon, ( the locals there do call it Stratford), but the London Stratford is the home of the 2012 Olympics and also an international station will be there for Eurostar, if you are looking for transport links the Shakespeare one is 'upon Avon'.

I'm never going to ketchup.:scared1:

I'll stick with reading the last page for now.:lmao:

What exactly is an English breakfast?

Thanks, yes I do mean Shakespeare's Stratford upon Avon.

Yeah, I just dont have it in me for planning for London yet!

Last time I was there was 1999 for a week! We hired a private tour guide for a day! Boy did we pack in alot!!! finished with Indian for supper & a visit to a pub!

But that was sans children only had 2 back then & we left them home with mother & help. We were gone for 3 weeks + started in London did Paris Bern Switzerland Florence 2nd time & Rome 2nd time Finished with a week in Positano! Ohh it was great ordered a bedroom set in Sorrento!:thumbsup2

Boy I only have to wait 14 more years to travel without the kids again!  :scared:

We returned the rental car in Naples flew out of there to Rome to Boston!
My wife still remembers the flight from Naples it was on a long thin jet seating for 1 on one side of the aisle 2 on the other! The Pilot flew the plane like a fighter Jet full throttle it was a blast (unfortunately my wife didnt think so:scared1: ).:lmao: :lmao:

Which station do you get the Eurostar from? We flew over both times from London since it was easier for us to book our plane tickets that way.

What exactly is an English breakfast?

Dont remeber exactly I think the egg was missing!

But they had Bacon Suasage Ham cereals & muffins as it was france the also had Cresaunts (spelling) jams jellys It was pretty filling but after a week it got to you!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

What exactly is an English breakfast?
Eggs, mushrooms, beans, baked tomatoes, wonderful english bacon (not streaky american bacon, and certainly not like ham), toast and since Izzi reminded me it also includes sausages and black pudding. Although I've never had black pudding  served to me with an english b'fast.

 I love that our English Brethren are helping with the hotel hunt--thanks for all the advice in advance!

We are also planning to come to London a few days early--:woohoo:

I don't know how the eyes move on my signature--a tech guru genius from our last cruise set that up :cool2: I can ask him if you want :wizard:

:welcome: Mrs. Scooby!

BLA BLA BLA

Hey how come Im not listed on the first page?
