So now this is how it goes. I'm online all day whilst at work and I'm all on my lonsome, posting away to the empty ether, wishing and hoping that some kindly sole will eventually join me :sad2: :sad2: but "NO" I'm the wrong side of the pond for that !!!!

Then when I go to bed "LO" everyone comes out to play and chat and generally have a good time so that when I get up the next morning there are pages and pages and pages and pages......... of posts to read :scared1: :scared1:

ANSWER: I need to change my job so I can work at night and sleep during the day :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

 Izzie - I can see how this is going to go - for the next 22 months - I will most likely be up late at night unless I get this insomnia under control. Nice to see you again - the booking monster kept me up until 4 am my time and then promptly vanished just before booking window opened. Go figure. I'm b-as-backward as usual. :rotfl: (Sorry guys!)

Aloha,
I'm glad to see I was not the only one having trouble trying to get a res with DCL. I was working 2 phones and 1 computer trying to get on.:surfweb: I got through with the DVC people. Did points and cash for our res. What a relief.:woohoo::rotfl:

I can't wait to meet everyone on board. Anybody from Orange County CA going on the cruise?

aloha,
hawaiian mickey

:welcome: aboard hawaiian mickey and Minnie - :wave2: I am Laura and I live in Norwalk - technically still LA County - but I got 2 pluses - I'm borderline (as in county's not as in mental) and our office is in La Habra near Harbor. Where you at?

Wow - it's amazing seeing all these familiar names here.

I'm reluctant to say that I'm going for sure - the economy is way too uncertain to say that. But we're booked - I definitely want to go on this one.

Got our on board booking credit transferred over, and got one of the category 10 hidden porthole rooms (couldn't believe it was still available).

On a lark I'm also holding a reservation on the westbound TA - but unless we're really flush that one's going to get cancelled.

Dan

OK so in all my excitement for today....er yesterday, I had no time to think about what is happening 2009.

We were playing it low key due to our 25th High School reunion. That however has been cancelled and so sitting here trying to figure out what to do. So, I decided to play out a hunch. We will have had a surplus of points for 2009 which some had to be used or lost. Since I firmly believe in not losing anything I have paid for - I had debated on booking and Adventures By Disney Tour to Peru - (to include Machu Picchu and Cuzco) in August with a possible trip to WDW in late August. Well, at first the girls wanted to go and so I looked into airfar for a party of 5 - booking 2 tours on pts and paying cash for the rest. :lmao: I naively thought it would be ok - for cash - it would cost $2419 - NOT including airfare which that came out to $7200 for RT from LAX to LIM. Well today, I was talking things over with DH and I mentioned that I really would like to do this just he and I. Considering my oldest DD has asthma and my youngest is not fond of dirt or grime, I played out a scenario and both girls decided to forgo Peru and let us go on our own. :cool1: :woohoo: This means that come later today or Thursday, I will be booking an Adventures By Disney to Peru with RT airfare for about $2200 for just the TWO OF US! NO KIDS FOR 10 days! :woohoo: :woohoo:

I compromised and told the girls that they could fly out on August 13th to WDW and meet up with us so I (we) will be staying somewhere on property from either August 12 or 13th to August 22nd or 23rd. I hope to catch up to some friends who will be having a mini-reunion that week. So if anyone will be there, let me know - we can meet up too.

:woohoo: :woohoo: I'm so excited......And I just can't help it......I'm about to lose control and I think I like it......Oh YEAH! :rolleyes1

So now, I don't have to get depressed for 2009. I have plans - apart from escorting DD 16 (then) to Spain and France come spring break - I am going to have another wonderful year. I am truly blessed. Thank You God! :goodvibes

Serious planning question:

What seating is everyone choosing for dining?

We've always done early with the kids, and it worked out well for us. But knowing that this is a port intensive itinerary, I don't want to worry about rushing back onto the ship and rushing to get ready for dinner. So we're thinking about maybe switching to late dining for a change. Any advice?

Firstly a welcome to everyone, it would be nice if we could 'cut and paste' all this info to the first page of this ( and future threads) it will be so helpful in getting to know people, -I am a bit slow at times in picking who's who up, remember one post in the past to a 'he' and she was a lady!

Nice however to see so many familiar faces so that will make things a bit easier.

I am currently at home, with 'man flu' so off to bed again in a second or to, glands on throat bad very stiff, eyes watering runny noise, headache, etc.

Only 3rd day off work in 2008, thats high for me, last time was suspected DVT!!! but was a calf strain instead.

OBC, Its not known too much, I haven't posted this anywhere else, but I swapped travel agent for this cruise, was very happy with the service in the past, they looked after me very well indeed, but wanted that Cat 3 on this cruise, and went to the person who I knew could help me with that and came up trumps. I am told I get a $300 OBC, so nice.

I am on main dinner my kids and myself prefer that, I do remember in the Med on the long Rome day they moved the dinner times back, it was 6.30pm and 9pm, I cannot eat at 9pm to close to bedtime, you will not be out till 11pm, and my kids as well would hit the fast food places on deck 9.

The Med 07/28 thread was one of the nicest, ( if not nicest) cruise meets threads I have ever posted on and joined in, such a loverly bunch of people and we kept friendly on the cruise as well a joy to be with.

Some other threads have their moments!! I actually do not post on the August 2009 cruise meets thread which is a shame.

This thread already has all of the 'hallmarks' of the July 2007 cruise meets thread with so many nice people.

Its a long way off and we have a long time to get to know each other.

:welcome: we are all in the same boat. But thanks for coming out. You never know. At least we have had some experience in how to pack, save and manage so don't give up hope. We too have booked the WB TA - it was cheaper than the 7 Day from Barcelona to Dover. Imagine that.

Wow - we are certainly seeing a lot of familiar faces. Now, remind me again - were you the ones with the lost luggage?

Hey Andrew - Hope you feel better soon! The Santa Ana Winds are here again and many people are getting sinusus sick so take care of yourself. As for those kinds words about our thread????? Stop - your making me  But truer words were never spoken. This thread does have a bit of that feel already doesn't it?

Take care and sleep tight - I'm glad you got what you wanted - you'll have to let me know who you used for future reference! ;)

Dan - you must tell me which ones these are as I would love to try for one of them in the future.

Hey - didn't you do our ROMEancing the Mouse logo for us back in 2007? Have you any ideas? We are still brainstorming and be sure to check out some of our ideas - we are having a blast coming up with ideas. You'll have to meet Mike - Cruzing Mike - he came up with an adorable idea.

 Hey - did you ever make it on the August Repo? I thought you said you were going but I never saw you or am I getting you and Donioc mixed up? I think its all the D's. Sorry if I am.

Your telling me - I am really going to rely on you Brits to tell me where to stay and how to get to Dover - we are more than likely coming in early and wanting to spend some time in or near London - once thing is for sure - I WILL NOT BE DRIVING! You all drive on the wrong side of the road! :lmao: :lmao: ;)

Nice however to see so many familiar faces so that will make things a bit easier.

I've already volunteered to make up a spreadsheet with all the data in. All I need is some nice person who can webhost it for us as I don't have a family website and I also don't have the privilage of putting attachements into posts.

I am currently at home, with 'man flu' so off to bed again in a second or to, glands on throat bad very stiff, eyes watering runny noise, headache, etc.

Sorry you not feeling well Andrew :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: Hopefully these will make you feel a bit better

I think that well probably go for the main dinning as well. Looking at the itinery the "all aboards" are all nearly between 4pm-5pm which should give enough time to have a shower and change for dinner. The thought of eating at gone 8:30pm and feeling tierd and wanting to go straight to be doesn't sound good to me. I'd rather eat earlier and then the kids can go off to wherever they want and Paul and I can socialise :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

The Med 07/28 thread was one of the nicest, ( if not nicest) cruise meets threads I have ever posted on and joined in, such a loverly bunch of people and we kept friendly on the cruise as well a joy to be with.

Absolutely agree with you on that one.

Yep - we were the lost luggage folk. Shouldn't be a problem this time - I'll be sure to get to London a few days early.

Dan............... good to see you (maybe) onboard

Hi Izzy - it's a particular pleasure to see you on the thread - I missed you and the family on the canal cruise. Please give my regards to everyone.

I didn't come up with the logo - but I did help clean up a low resolution version so that we could put it on shirts. I'll try to keep up with the site and join in on the brainstorming.

I was on the August Repo and had a great time. Did meet some DIS people but was not terribly social. As Andrew said - the 7/27 Med cruise was really something special.

Hey Laura....it's 2 in the morning.....aren't you feeling sleepy yet :cloud9: :cloud9:

Sallie will be getting up soon and hopefully she'll join us online before she goes to work

AH! See I knew you had done something.

As for the PC Repo - we'll have to remedy the not meeting part! I talk big but I am not that loud! However, if I get it into my head to :tiptoe: you down - you might be sorry! Just ask Andrew! :rotfl2:

As for bedtime Izzie, I lost your quote somewhere in quote heaven but yes, I am but once I lay this carcass down, my eyes and brain fly at about 75 mph. So I end up twiddling my fingers until I fall asleep. Not even my ipod is helping me. One thing is for sure - I think I may try and cut out caffeine again. This is ridiculous!

Dan, give your luggage about 2 days to catch up with you ok? I think we may come in 3 days early unless there is more stuff to do and as I posted earlier - am relying on our Brit friends to start the suggestions. About time they return the favor huh?

Just kidding guys - we :lovestruc you!

And with this, I think I will shut down and attempt to go to bed, I think that DH is sufficiently asleep so my tossing and turning will not affect him too much! Night Night!

So I'm back to being all alone.....with no one to share and care with me. If I wasn't at work I'd start compiling a list of everyones details so we can get it on the 1st page....but I am....so I can't :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Paul came up with a pretty random thought last night (nothing new there then I hear you all say :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ) Anyway he said that we've all booked this trip and it's so far away that there maybe children onboard that aren't even concieved yet

Also Josh pointed out that we won't be getting on a plane to go on holiday until probably 2012 now and for us globetrotters that really is saying something !!!!! As our holiday in 2009 is by ferry to Ireland and then back to the UK by ferry to the Peak District and we're able to drive from our house to Dover as it's about 2 hours away

 Dan!

Wow - we are certainly seeing a lot of familiar faces. Now, remind me again - were you the ones with the lost luggage?

Yes, hi Dan! I see he answered later, but yes, he was the one with the lost luggage. Dan, I knew you were on the PC repo because you would on rare occasions post something hilarious on the cruise thread!
