Location.We live in Los Angeles.
We wanted the same cabin we in on the eastern repo. which we got. Cat 6 6620

Serious planning question:

What seating is everyone choosing for dining?

We've always done early with the kids, and it worked out well for us. But knowing that this is a port intensive itinerary, I don't want to worry about rushing back onto the ship and rushing to get ready for dinner. So we're thinking about maybe switching to late dining for a change. Any advice?

I was just goofing around, trying to "viking-ize" the small world picture. What do you think so far? I'll clean it up, add some landmarks, maybe some oars, make sure the fonts are the same, and there you have it---door magnets!

Love this one too!

We have done 6 DCL cruises with one more booked for 6/09. This will be my brother and family's first DCL cruise.

We just did a Baltics cruise this past July. So all stops except for Oslo and Stockholm will be repeats for us. We obviously liked the Baltics or we wouldn't be booking another one so soon. :upsidedow

We always chose 2nd seating. On our Carnival Baltics cruise this past July, they had open seating several nights when we were in port late.
Why don't you look over the times for all aboard and see if there's a need for you to rush to get ready for main seating? But you also have to remember that most of us will be all confused with the time differences, 5 hours from east coast US to England and then there are 3 time changes on the way up to St. Petersburg and 3 on the way back.
This info will either help you or make you more confused. But it will give you some facts to help you base your decision.

We are onboard too. I'm so excited. :yay:
Now it's time to decide what's cheaper...eggs or mac & cheese. :lmao: The good thing is that on this diet I'll look really good by 2010.
Mac & cheese is cheaper - you can have mac one day and cheese the next. :lmao:

Great idea Mike! :thumbsup2

How about Magical Nights In The Northern Lights

:scratchin

I'm feeling something here....

Northern Nights + Summer Nights = Mickey's Baltic Nights?
Maybe have the date under Baltic Nights: : "7.18.2010"

or

Summer Nights + Northern Lights = Russian Summer Nights with Mickey?

or

Summer Night + Northern Night = To Russia with Mouse?

:scratchin you know - there's a joke in here somewhere - maybe: What do you get when you cross Mickey with Summer Nights + Northern Lights + Baltic Sea?

Why you get Mickey's Russian Summer Nights! ;)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Can't help myself - I crack myself up! :lmao:

OK folks, I'll stop now. :rotfl2:

Can you all see I'm trying to get that Mouse part in? :lmao:

JoAnn - please apologize to Tara for me - I'm just talking out loud (and to myself here)

Laura, Good for you I think you absolutely did the right thing, just being true to the DIS way of doing things.

That being said I think we should go on with our brain storming sessions and come up with whatever name we want and then as you said we can tweak it so that it's different to theirs. Both cruises seem to be liking the same ones and each cruise can only pick one so, as there seem to be two names that are standing out To Russia With Mouse and Northern Nights and Magical/Disney Delights I think we'll be just fine. We can still use the Small world based logo with whichever name we finally go for.

Don't apologize, let's keep working until we come up with a great logo and slogan. Tara has no idea, I'm just using her if we need her.

If we use MAGICal Nights in the Northern Lights.....let's highlight the MAGIC in the slogan! I like this idea too!:thumbsup2

What you still doing up Laura.....isn't it really , really late over there ?

I'm at work already :surfweb: :surfweb: and counting down the time till I hear, hopefully  from my TA

Hey there - I was trolling the other sites. Yes its midnight here. Been having trouble sleeping so the insomnia has hit right on target. I'm nervous seeing as we have several trips "tentatively" scheduled. Not sure if we can do them all but I hope to at least do two. I'm biting my nails as it is. I can't imagine what my stomach would feel like if I was doing the booking. SIGH!

I decided that I would like to settle for a cat 10 or 9 if I have too. Seeing as this is a port intensive cruise plus extended day times - DH would like it at least 1/2 way dark so he can get to bed. If we get a cat 10 that would be an inside with no windows so he'll be asleep in no time.

But as you know - God laughs when we make plans. Or is that Mother Nature? Either way, I am holding my breath until the chips land. And if for some crazy reason I'm allowed to do both, I may be eating "beans on toast" for the next 18+ months (but no fear - I love pinto beans! ) :rotfl2:

OMG !!!! Could you imagine being a TA with all those families holiday hopes and wishes resting on your shoulders and speed dial button ???? :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Nope not until now! The only way I could be a TA was if I had 6 computers with 6 phone lines going and I could clone myself 7 times to go around. THis control freak would literally freak if I had a crying child call me and ask - Why didn't you book me?

BTW, my legs, fingers and eyes are getting tired of being crossed. I wonder if I uncross them if the luck will fly away? :scratchin

Ooops, there goes my brain. Excuse me while I run off to catch it. ;)

Gotta go on a potty break but my dime is on Andrew that he gets confirmation first. Any ideas who will post first?

All Right - suddenly I got tired. So good night Izzie, good luck. Keep track of who posts first. (Lord please don't let it be Andrew, Please don't let it be Andrew) No offense Andrew! You know we wouldn't pick on you if we didn't like you! ;)

Later Gators, won't be on until Tuesday night - April's got a volleyball game at home so it will be a late nighter for us.

Night Night!

Night Night, sweet dreams don't let the booking monsters keep you awake :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

When you say book the Dover repo do you mean as a B2B with this cruise ??

You guys crack me up, I couldn't sleep either last night and then I waited all day to hear from my TA!:dance3:

Them's fightin' words. (But the Dodgers only need to come back and win 3 since they actually won a game on Sunday :sad1: ) I see a Phils' win tomorrow night and then onto the World Series :cheer2: .

me2!:goodvibes

I'm not even thinking about the cost of this trip at the moment....I'm being a ostrich and just burying my head in the sand and then I'll deal with it in 18 months.......hopfully by then financially things will be better

I hear ya, Iz!:scared1: :sad2: pirate: :scared:

Thanks! The quote was on a handmade bookmark that one of our friends on our last cruise gave to us. I just love the saying.

We did cat 10's too, instead of a cat 6 and 11 like the last cruise. It was that or not go, so i think we chose wisely.

Well, we love later seating for exactly that reason -- not having to rush back for dinner. However, if you generally like earlier dinner and there is a late day at port, you can always just run up to Topsiders for dinner. We hadn't tried early dinner since our first cruise years ago, so when we stayed on for the 5 night after the PC cruise, we tried early -- and we didn't like it as well, even without the "rushing for dinner" issue. If you have a strong feeling either way, just go with that one and be flexible. We knew on the Med that a few nights we would not make it back for dinner and just didn't worry about it.

OK...we need advice. Joe and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary on the cruise. We have never taken a cruise before...Ok, Joe was in the Navy, but that doesn't count. To all you veteran cruisers, how would you celebrate this event?

Just going on this cruise will be the most special anniversary I could imagine! However, you might want to think about booking the spa villa for both of you to relax and have a massage . . . would be lovely on one of the sea days.

If we use MAGICal Nights in the Northern Lights.....let's highlight the MAGIC in the slogan! I like this idea too!:thumbsup2

MAGICal Nights in the Northern Lights - July 18-30, 2010

I like that idea . . . and then we use Mike's logo . . .:thumbsup2

LATE SEATING.......:dance3:

Just one thought -- will we really be going far enough north to see the northern lights? I had done some research and it seemed that to be sure of seeing them you had to be far north in Norway, or in Iceland . . . of course, that doesn't mean we can't have creative license with the thread title:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
