Just one thought -- will we really be going far enough north to see the northern lights? I had done some research and it seemed that to be sure of seeing them you had to be far north in Norway, or in Iceland . . . of course, that doesn't mean we can't have creative license with the thread title:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Somewhere I heard we could see them in St. Petersburg........Barb please confirm!!:goodvibes

Hey Maryann......we're just a few doors away!!:goodvibes

Serious planning question:

What seating is everyone choosing for dining?

We've always done early with the kids, and it worked out well for us. But knowing that this is a port intensive itinerary, I don't want to worry about rushing back onto the ship and rushing to get ready for dinner. So we're thinking about maybe switching to late dining for a change. Any advice?
We are going with late seating. That's what we had on the Repo and liked it. Our previous 2 cruises we had done early. The late seating meant we didn't have to rush to get ready for dinner. DD's would go see the show and then we'd go to dinner. It will be confusing with the time difference. St Petersburg will be 10 hours different for us from Seattle! :scared1:

Don't apologize, let's keep working until we come up with a great logo and slogan. Tara has no idea, I'm just using her if we need her.

If we use MAGICal Nights in the Northern Lights.....let's highlight the MAGIC in the slogan! I like this idea too!:thumbsup2
You like my idea! Cool! I agree with highlighting Magic!

I was wondering the same thing! I don't think people are going to fuss too much over it though!

:lmao: I love it - maybe we can get together and share expenses and have it made. BTW, does anyone have a picture of God and Adam with the TP? I am not at home to post but I was just reminding my DD Megan about it and I got this:  She says we have nothing better to do than talk TP. And you know what? DOES ANYONE KNOW IF WE NEED TO ROLL AGAIN THIS TRIP? :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2:

OK - who's rolling this time? :rotfl:

Ok, well I'm really glad you brought this up..........I have a friend who went to Finland last year to visit family and one of the places she stayed...............HAD AN OUTHOUSE!!! Arghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I can't be with you guys -
warning to all newbies - if you see Sally you'll need a
hat.jpg

Have fun - But please can we arranage a meet when you are in UK:goodvibes
Hey Helen, I'm sure we'll do a meet (or you can just come with us!!)

Thanks! The quote was on a handmade bookmark that one of our friends on our last cruise gave to us. I just love the saying.

We did cat 10's too, instead of a cat 6 and 11 like the last cruise. It was that or not go, so i think we chose wisely.

I was just goofing around, trying to "viking-ize" the small world picture. What do you think so far? I'll clean it up, add some landmarks, maybe some oars, make sure the fonts are the same, and there you have it---door magnets!

smallvikingworld.jpg
Okay this is so great........do we want to somehow add the slogan MAGICAL delights and Northern Lights to this?? (Sorry, is that the final idea we came up with?) I totally want this for my Tshirt too!!!:thumbsup2 :worship: :lovestruc  :cloud9:

The original BLING didn't make it off the Magic. For $2 you'd think it would hold up better?!?!:confused3 I did see it in the ad for the Dollar Store this weekend. I guess i need to make a trip there this week.

Most Definitely! :thumbsup2

We are onboard too. I'm so excited. :yay:
Now it's time to decide what's cheaper...eggs or mac & cheese. :lmao: The good thing is that on this diet I'll look really good by 2010.

DisName: Flora Fan
First Name: Cindy - Crochet, photography
Family: DH/Joe - surfing the net, politics
Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Cat #: 7570

OK...we need advice. Joe and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary on the cruise. We have never taken a cruise before...Ok, Joe was in the Navy, but that doesn't count. To all you veteran cruisers, how would you celebrate this event?

:wave2: Cindy,

First off - I like a women who sees the bright side of starving herself - :thumbsup2 (Joke - no harm intended)

Second, I :lovestruc photography - lets talk shop.

Third - make sure you tell your dining staff and they will help you celebrate. You can always do a vow renewal package but that runs $$$$$. I had a couple of friends renew their vows on the Aug PC and while beautiful ceremonies - not all could participate. By the time this whole things comes around - we will all be like family - so my suggestion is to have a great big gathering on deck one night and invite everyone. I'm sure you will get most of us to participate. ;) Any excuse to party - and what a wonderful excuse!

BTW, wonder if we can get info on the websites for any celebrations on this cruise? Like me for instance? We will be celebrating 2 birthdays, and possibly 2 anniversaries on this particular cruise. I warned you all I like to sail on my birthday - all within 3 days of each other. So look for me - we will be the table celebrating each night with :cake:. :rotfl2: And yes - it will be our actual celebrations. :rotfl:

Well, we love later seating for exactly that reason -- not having to rush back for dinner. However, if you generally like earlier dinner and there is a late day at port, you can always just run up to Topsiders for dinner. We hadn't tried early dinner since our first cruise years ago, so when we stayed on for the 5 night after the PC cruise, we tried early -- and we didn't like it as well, even without the "rushing for dinner" issue. If you have a strong feeling either way, just go with that one and be flexible. We knew on the Med that a few nights we would not make it back for dinner and just didn't worry about it.

Mike - like Julie - we tried the early on the 5-night. I didn't like it I felt a bit rushed. I am used to having conversation with the waiters and not being rushed out but that is just me. However, the 8 pm seems to work well. Like Julie said, the Med cruise we were mostly back by 7:30 just in time for dinner so that is a good one to take if you can hang. But then again that is just me. Steve thought he would like the early dining but he asked for 8 pm this time around. Hope you like whatever decision you make. But your always welcome to be near us.

:scratchin - Is there someone willing to link dining eventually? :confused3

The best part? We personalized it so we shouldn't have any copy right infringement problems. Too much anyway! ;)

Now I have to run off and do some :laundy: for practice tomorrow - a women's work is never done around here. :scratchin - I really must look into hiring some help. SIGH!

I don't know, will rolling be enough?:scared1:

Wait, due to the price of this trip, am I going to lose weight b/c I have to eat beans for two years? WTG, I could really benefit from that!!:worship: :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Since our girls have the same Bday, we would love to link with you if you want some girls at your table (late seating?) Our 30th anniversary will be on July 11th, but close enough!:dance3:

Andrew had moved out at the end of September of '07. Had a wonderful 3 months before he made it back. He moved back in in January and while its been wonderful having my kids back, I told him last week I was definitely looking forward to him leaving. He answered - I'm not leaving. I know how much I have to pay - I'm staying here! :headache: Suddenly my headache was much worse! But Megan was talking about doing an internship at DL. They were recruiting big time for that. She was even showing me the "apt" they can rent for $635 or so a month. I told her it would be a good experience almost like dorm living. The program runs from Jan to Aug - just in time to join us in WDW.

BTW - anyone here done Adventures by Disney? I am specifically looking at Peru for August 2009. I have not done any Adventures as I am a fairly new DVC member but I have to kill a surplus of points before end of next year and so I was thinking of DH and I doing the Peru (Machu Picchu) which is on my Bucket List :woohoo: another one off my list - and then flying to WDW for the week of 8/15 - 8/22, 2009 to catch up with some friends. Seeing as we seem to have a surplus of well-traveled personal - someone is bound to have done one of them. Anybody?

I am loving this as our logo BUT WHERES THE MOUSE and also could w put the final cruise name INTO the flags so that it doesn't look as though we've got 2 names.

If we changed the name to MAGICal Delights and Northern Lights into MAGICal Delights and Northern Nights then we wouldn't have to worry about not being able to see the northern lights .....go to go to work now. I'll be back on in about an hour

Night Sooz! At least now the booking monster won't keep many of us up.

The bad news? For the next year and a half - you've got others to do that for you. :lmao:

BTW, did we meet on the EB? I know the name is familiar but can't place a face?

Which reminds me, we are going to have to post pictures for those that haven't meet - I know that Sallie posted a picture but anyone else?

OK I'm back online....there that didn't take too long did it ????

So I've now got 11 - 12 hours sitting at my desk before I can get off home again :scared: :scared: :scared:

So now this is how it goes. I'm online all day whilst at work and I'm all on my lonsome, posting away to the empty ether, wishing and hoping that some kindly sole will eventually join me :sad2: :sad2: but "NO" I'm the wrong side of the pond for that !!!!

Then when I go to bed "LO" everyone comes out to play and chat and generally have a good time so that when I get up the next morning there are pages and pages and pages and pages......... of posts to read :scared1: :scared1:

ANSWER: I need to change my job so I can work at night and sleep during the day :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
