The 12/5/09 cruise was the one that the rebooking agent used as a "dummy" date, knowing that we were going to move it forward. A ton of us on our last cruise rebooked with the hopes of going somewhere great. That's why it's "the cruise your heart desires most". Once we get a logo for this cruise, I'll be switching it out.

Sounds like you have some great cruises between now and the Baltics!

Wonder how many 2009 cabins have opened up since Tuesday?

Ok so the weekend is upon us......anyone got anything nice/good/bad lined up ??

OMG....I just checked the DCL website and for our cruise cat 5 rooms are now $400 more than our cat 4 room and cat 6 rooms are the same as our cat 4 room :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I just had a look as well and a cat 5 room is now showing up as only £980 less than our cat 4. Prices do seem to have gone up since Tuesday
I priced out a Cat 9 and it's still the same price as what we got it for on Tuesday.
What about luggage tags? We could all use new ones the way airlines go about breaking them these days. Plus they are good to put on your day bag that you take into port.
I like that idea!

I had two 2009 reservations, both now switched to 2010 -- my guess is that a lot of that happened. One of mine was the same "dummy" cruise Mike is talking about, but one was a real reservation for next summer.

Good evening everyone! I was just looking at the main cruise site which i never have time to do. I was reading the two threads about how expensive Disney cruises are now. One thread is entitled
Is Disney smaoking crack or what...:rotfl:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1975830
and teh other is
LOYAL DCL'ers...ARE PRICES STOPPING YOU???
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1982835

I must say, I didn't realize that a comparable Cruise to Europe on a different line is (from what is posted) 50% less than a Disney cruise???? Wow- I figured maybe it was about 25-30% more , but 50% does seem like a lot more I think.
Now, as with all of us Disney crazies, I too feel there is nothing like the Magic- ambiance, kids club, entertainment- etc., but I really didnt realize it was that much more.
Am I only one who didnt think there was that much of a difference? Probably- I know I live in a bubble!:upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow

I know when we did the Med cruise a lot of other cruise lines were cheaper than Disney, but I did not even look this time. What can I say, when your hooked, your hooked.

We have never tried any other cruise line and keep saying someday we will, but we have never gotten to that "someday". We just feel spoiled with Disney.;)

Our friends did Royal Caribbean and had to upgrade two grades to get the same room size they had on Disney. I know Disney has the largest staterooms---not that you spend that much time there, but it is nice to be able to have room the get ready to go out and bath.

Andrew it would be more fun to hit the boss but then again - your police may not like you. So just hit the targets.
Its ok I hit the boss!!!
WOW !!!! looks as if these Baltic cruises are more popular than even the TAs predicted.

We've got a cat 4 room but I asked our TA if she could move us aft a bit and this is the reply I got from her

"Hi Isabel,

From what I understand, these 12 night cruises are extremely popular and
booked up very quickly. It's likely that we may not be able to get you
moved after all, as I did not realize the popularity of this particular
sailing at first.

Send me a reminder on Saturday and I will check if there are any openings
then.

Have a Disney day!"

Thank goodness we all made it onboard   :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
I did hear the high Cat rooms are going very fast indeed but also all rooms are also moving fast.
We got our cat 4! We're in a GTY cabin, but at least we got it. And with the whole family in one cabin, it won't be nearly as stressful as when we were GTY in 2 different cabins and were afraid they'd scatter us across the ship.

We originally told our TA to book the connecting cabins, because it's always been cheaper to do that than get a cat 4, even with paying adult prices for 2 of the kids. It was even a lot cheaper to do a cat 6 and cat 11 in the past. This time around it was $300 cheaper for us to book the cat 4, so we switched.
Congrats, higher Cats are going up in price saw that myself

Yes going up, please do not turn it into a Mini mart!:rotfl: :rotfl:

I just noticed the cat. 4's are not listed as an option once again.

That's what I thought. It's also the reason we're in a cat 10 instead of 11 - the extra cost was nominal compared to previous cruises.

Hey now there's a thought.........I could recoup the expense of this trip by turning our stateroom into a mini-mart !!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think I'll open up a food mart - I can offer a variety of salads and appetizers, sandwiches, all-american fare, and desserts at very reasonable prices :rolleyes1

Indeed we do: http://www.thetech.org/leonardo/

Looks like prices are going up on the higher categories but not the lower ones.

So you got to talk to yourself and you have an early night - did you put yourself to sleep?!? :lmao: :rotfl:

Yes, that's exactly what happened, plus, it's been a long late night week!:rotfl2:

There was a couple on their honeymoon on our cruise in July and they rented a car in Germany and the car broke down and they missed the ship. They had to drive 5 hours to Munich to catch a flight the next day to meet the ship in Helsinki. So not only did they have the cost of the original rental car, they had to stay the night in Warnemunde, rent another car and board a very expensive flight to Helsinki and spend the night there to meet the ship on Friday. So the new DH was in big trouble with the new DW since she didn't want to rent a car in the first place.

To make matters worse, they almost missed the ship in Copenhagen the day before. They were calling their names for a few minutes before they boarded the ship. Can't remember what they did that day to make them almost miss the ship. :scared1:

OMG, what a horrible story! I guess that's a good reason to book DCL excursions!:scared1:

Not really, we're in charge of organizing the university soccer team meal on Sunday, so we'll be food shopping and prepping for that.

Saturday DD & I are going to an Amish auction while DH stays home and paints the dining room. Then on Sunday we gets to paint the living room. I'll help him put the dining room back together so the living room furniture can go in there. Those 2 rooms look like a war zone now. He's also supposed to get with our contractor and put up the boards on the ceiling in the screen porch at some point.
So I get to have fun and he gets to work around here while he's taking the weekend off from work.

Sounds like a good plan to me! :rotfl:

So which state is hosting the Amish auction? Pa?:confused3

Ken & I are renovating a couple rooms in our house too!:thumbsup2
