Has anybody heard what the required deposit will be for this cruise? When we rebooked onboard, they were running the half-price deposit sppecial, so we only put down $125. I would assume that we'd have to pay any difference in deposit to keep our reservation.
Deposits are $600/person for cat. 4-12 and $800/person for cat. 1-3.

Ok, Barb, I'll warn you now about the "Brit Chat".......it's confusing and difficult to understand, but they think they're really funny.......so, we'll work with what we got and hopefully survive it.............:goodvibes :rotfl:
I know that the brit chat is confusing at times, we have several friends that are English and live in England and I have to ask them to translate a lot. But most of it I can pick up on, but that last one really threw me for a loop.

Thx to Izzi for postin all these great sites................
I see you found the post with the links to the sites I sent to be posted there.

I put the link for the world times since we will have 3 times changes on the way up and 3 on the way back on the cruise.
It's not that bad except when trying to figure out what time it is at home when texting people.

Love those Brits...............:grouphug: :grouphug:

Translation please?!? :confused3

Barmy = mad, nuts, bonkers

As in "Barmy Army" which is the term for the small army of quite insane supporters (mostly men I hasten to add :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 ) that follow the English cricket team around the world whenever they are playing.

Actually it was Barb that found nearly all of them....all I did was put them into the post. Now I feel really remiss for not looking up reams and reams of websites that relate to the UK and inparticular Dover :guilty: :guilty: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

In honour of our American friends national holiday today, I'm just about to eat AND enjoy a bowl of Fruit Loops for my breakfast.

Now bear in mind that you can not get Fruit Loops over here in the UK, so I bring back a small supply whenever we travel to the US. Therefore it's really an indulgence when I treat myself to a bowl of them and I do so today to embrace all my American "family" :lovestruc :lovestruc :grouphug: :grouphug: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

HI!! WE were all on the July 28th 2007 Mediterranean Cruise to Spain, Italy and France. It was THE trip of a lifetime due in part to the friends we made before the trip even began. This thread is made up of such an amazing group of people who started as strangers, and became family. You will soon see what I mean! So happy to meet you!!!!:grouphug:

Andrew....Jimmy said only you can really understand!!! Here we go again - only Jimmy getting the sympathy!!!!

I'm with you Sallie! Its a conspiracy to make us look like we don't cook for them and spend all our time on here - but little do they know - we cook, clean and most importantly of all - we :laundy: all day just to make them take pity on us and this is how they repay us? They make us look like slave drivers. :worship: Well, I never!

That's a great picture, and I actually see some people I know!

Andrew, are you posting on the 7-18-10 Wonder cruise thread already?;)

We'd love to spend some time before or after in London, but i won't have any extra vacation time. So don't worry Andrew, we won't show up on your doorstep with all of our luggage.

Funny how they always seem to get front and center huh Mike? :lmao:

YOU CHEEKY MOO, JUST INVITE YOURSELF OVER WHY DON'T YA !!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

WHOO HOO IT'S PARTY TIME :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:   :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :yay: :yay:

 Um, Izzie, - I think she just invited the whole thread over to your house in what is a blatent open call invite :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 ;)

Sorry - all couldn't resist - you all get so chatty and whimsical, I just have to comment. But wow! You all have been chatty in just two days! I can see where this is headed. :sad2: No more hot cooked meals!

Bonkers.... you will fit in with this crew very well!!!:rotfl2:

Takes one to know one! :rotfl2:

exactly!! kids really are the same no matter where in the world they are!!! same here- peer pressure- she stared track - and she cut the rubbish out!! im so great full she saw how important exercise is, she realizes that she can eat her sweets every now and then, as long as she exercises consistently.I tell you Andrew, Jimmy and I were really watching her as she went through the weight loss- (22 lbs in 4 months) WE knew she wasn't displaying any other eating disorder "signs" except for the weight loss- and she did loose it over a good amount of time, but never the less, we were watching her like a hawk!! I guess just the normal growing up changes, and wanting to loose the weight is what did it!

Hey guys, don't know if you remember youngest - April. Well she is now 15 and did exactly what you all just talked about. She was in 8th grade or had just graduated from there when we went in the summer. She had had a rough year because the girls in her parochial school were all twigs and she wasn't. Well, she went from 173 lbs to 141 lbs in a matter of 3 1/2 months. When we were on the cruise, she'd only lost about 18 lbs and she looked good but she continued to lose weight and has managed to keep it off. She is very food conscious and I too worry about "the weight loss" but we manage to oversee her eating habits and she really is pretty good about it.

She did it by going to a nutritionist - the trainer who worked for 20 minutes with her each time she came in for a session and that only last for about 20 sessions 2 times a week. She joined volleyball, soccer and track in her freshman year of high school and while exhausting, she loves how she feels and I'm so glad I was able to get her on the right track. I felt awful realizing that I contributed to her being overweight but my mom always consoled me saying it was baby fat - it was and she has been looking a bit too good for me. The other day she had a bonfire to go too and I was putting some lotion (she went in the daytime) on her back and noticed that I could feel her backbone. I about panicked thinking she was going overboard on the watching her foods but she scarfed down tons of food but made sure she did lots of exercise. I'll have to post a recent picture of her to you all can see her. Now, I only wish the oldest would be as concerned. She is not big by any means but steadfastly refuses to exercise. Can't have one without the other right? :confused3 My point to all this is that you can't rush the weight loss, it comes when its good and ready. And for girls, most of the time, its right about this time.

The bad part? ::yes:: now we do have to watch them not because of them but because then you have OLDER guys looking at them like a starving bear looks at food. :scared1: That's my baby! How dare they! :)

Mickey meets Little Mermaid........oops maybe not :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Now, Now Izzie, this is a family board, - don't give them any the characters any ideas! :rotfl2:

Ok, Barb, I'll warn you now about the "Brit Chat".......it's confusing and difficult to understand, but they think they're really funny.......so, we'll work with what we got and hopefully survive it.............:goodvibes :rotfl:

Also, so far we like the viking ship but we're considering changing our logo........I'll tap into Tara again as she is majoring in Copywriting, which means she should be able to come up with a few good phrases for us that are not already being used.............

Where the heck is Julie???

Yes, they do go on with the Brit Chat don't they? :rotfl:

I too like the Viking Ship. :thumbsup2

And I'm sure that Julie will soon be making an appearance.............Oh, come Tuesday or Wednesday. ;)

OK folks, all ketchup and ready for bed finally its 2:36 here. Talk to you all tomorrow and please all you UK'ers .......keep the Brit Chat down to a dull roar! ;)

Hey guys, just wanted to post that the 1st Baltic cruise has a poll going too - someone else mentioned this already and it got me curious so I went over to check ( :scared1: ) Yes I invaded! ;) Anyway, yes they have "To Russia With Mickey." and they have a version of someone's new suggestion - Northern Lights and Magical Delights and a couple of others but for some reason - I like ours - To Russia With Mouse.

They also have a few variations of something to do with Mickey and the Bal-tics but with our Viking Logo and it getting tweaked over the next couple of months - it should be good - Whomever came up with the Mouse - I like that one. Can't we keep it? Huh Pretty please? Maybe we can tweak it a bit? Their choice that sounds like ours - To Russia with Mickey has the same amount of words too but what about maybe adding something to ours if necessary - maybe To Russia with the Mouse - I know, I know - just something to make it a bit different? I really liked the sound of the Mouse??????? :confused3

I know that the 7/6 one has Pounds to Rubles and something to do with Crusing the Baltics but I like ours.

Did I mention that I REALLY, REALLY like ours?

OK - here are their choices:

1. We Shall Go To The Bal-tics
2. A Kick In The Bal-tics
3. Getting Our Kicks In The Baltics
4. Northern Sights and MAGICal Delights
5. From Russia With Mickey
6. To Russia With Mickey
7. Northern Sights And Mickey's Magical Delights
8. The Mouse Goes Baltic
9. Mickey Meets The Mermaid - Baltic Cruise 2010

Their leaders right now are: #7 with 8 votes as of right now and of course, #6. Their poll runs untils Saturday so we can wait to see what they go with or take a chance and stick with ours.

Gosh - I'm bad aren't I? First I invade, then I tattle, I be a regular pirate: I be. ::yes:: :rotfl2:

Thanks! Just needed to know how much to budget.

Mike I think hawking one of the kids might cover the deposits ;)

:lmao: :lmao:

Joke folks, dont' get mad at me. I'd hawk my oldest but I'm afraid they'd raise the price on me then. :lmao:

I'm on the 6/12 Baltic. We didn't pick To Russia with Mouse because we knew your group was looking at it. It was suggested, but then someone checked the other Baltic sites and we got rid of the ones that others were lookiing at. Hopefully we will have a name by Sat but it's looking close!

Thanks for the translation, I've never heard that word in all my trips over the pond. But then my friends aren't into cricket - thank god for that, it's a really, really odd game.
