You will love the food at this pub. We ate there last time on the LE/dinner combo and were really impressed. Their trifle was out of this world. I can't remember what we had to pay extra for, but it wasn't much for 8 of us.
The menu they offer has many choices and everyone had something different and no one complained of bad food. My English friends were very impressed with the food there as well. One of them ordered the steak and kidney pie - I had to try it and let's just say I won't be ordering it in the near or distant future - but she liked it very much and said it was the best she'd had in a long time.
I remember you saying you liked it

Not a fan of kidney so I'll be avoiding that one as well

I noticed they had fried fish and chips, did anyone have that?
Did not see a trifle on their menu-was that a special?
I think I made mistake with the package I picked-we are paying extra I think for 3 copies of their cookbook

So..on the upside..now I have gifts for my DMiL and my Mom
I had my great aunt's age wrong, she was 97. She definately lived a full life the way she wanted and no one told her otherwise.
Sounds like a very strong lady

When they live that long... I imagine the party they are having with all the folks that went before them
Maybe we will book for the 16th as well!
You and your family are welcome to join us if we happen to be there at the same time

In fact...any body here is

...we could make it a DIS meet
Correct me if I'm wrong. If we book Berlin on your Own we'll probably be on a bus to Berlin. If we book Berlin's Turbulent History we should be on the train ?? Trying to decide between the 2. Any thoughts ? Thanks !
That is what I found frustrating about those descriptions-only a few were definite about the transportation type.
Found our own company to pick us up at the port and drive us there
UK SUMMER WEATHER
A small alternative to the Met Office who generally predict the weather long term very well, (unlike the Met Office) has said, we are going to have a heatwave in the UK this summer, its going to be long and very hot and the first two weeks in August will break all records.
They predicted our wet summer, against the Met offices, barbecue summer for 2009, and they also predicted a long cold winter to March 2010, when the Met office said it would be mild. So they have done well..
Its to do with the jet stream, El Nino factor and Atlantic ocean sea temperatures.
So...expect hot in London at least. So probably pack at least one pair of shorts. The other ports will most likely be cooler though
Yes please - sterling would be good! YOu will have plenty of notice as to cost so you can do the biz. at the forex
Celestine
Ok...I'm totally clueless when it comes to the terms used in the UK.
The "sterling" means pounds (GB?) right?
and "biz. at the forex" ...stopping at the atm?
I expect we will have our UK money set aside ahead of time so no problem
Speaking of currencies, I am thinking of just having dollars and euros only.
I have booked day long
DCL trips at Oslo, Tallinn and Stockholm, and has a meal included, so 'spend' is limited to souvenirs, and that can be on a credit card.
StP, needs Dollars, or Euros, and Berlin will be Euros for the sightseeing. Copenhagen I have a few spare hours to shop outside the ship.
So with my days filled on all inclusive trips, do not need much.
Just for the fun of it I'm thinking I'll try to get some currency from each country ahead of time

Will have mostly pounds and euros though
