Hi all,

If anyone knows, can you post which days are the Captain's Gala, semi formal, formal, pirate night (if they will have it), etc. so we can plan Palo. Also, is it possible to request a certain dining rotation? We have 2nd seating.

On a sad note, I just heard from Harole Ann that she will not be able to make the cruise. She is having some health issues and just feels it's best to cancel. We will miss her.

Based on PLA

Night 1. Parrot Cay Let the Magic begin (Dover)

Night 2. Lumiere's Prince and Princess- Formal (Sea)

Night 3, Animator's Palate Rotational dining (Oslo)

Night 4 Parrot Cay Rotational dining (Copenhagen)

Night 5. Lumiere's Rotational dining (Berlin) will be late.

Night 6. Animator's Palate Villians- Semi Formal (Sea)

Night 7 Parrot Cay Are still listed as pending.(St Petes)

Night 8. Lumiere's Are still listed as pending. (St Petes)

Night 9. Animator's Palate Pirates (Tallinn)

Night 10. Parrot Cay Flavors of Scandinavia (Stockholm)

Night 11. Lumiere's Captains Gala- Semi Formal (Sea)

Night 12. Animator's Palate Till We Meet Again (Sea)

Breakfast Animator's Palate (Dover)

Yes you can request a dinner rotation, they will all flow in order, without being held in any restaurant for two nights.

That's sad news. I was looking forward to meeting her and her grandson on this cruise. Please tell her we will be thinking of her.

Am I correct that the Ballet is offered both nights in St. Pete's. That's cutting it close to get back to the ship the second night.

Maybe they are giving the Palo staff an evening off while they are in port? 12 nights is a long cruise to be going every single night.

I do not think so, concierge said it would be open but I was wondering about this as the three main restaurants do not have a menu set

Both nights. 6.30pm>11pm. ( PS Don't stay back for autographs, is a long swim to Tallinn.

I don't see your logic here. :confused3 Palo is open every night for all other sailings no matter the cruise length.

They do work hard but also if they do not work two nights, thats a lot of tips gone. IE Income lost.

What happens when a lot of people are on shore excursions going later into the day? We are on second seating because of this, will we have problems if first seating people run late?

Well YES, this is an issue for Berlin night as well as StP. There will be a lot of people coming back late, in fact Berlin could be worse with a train load back at 7.50pm.

I am not sure what they are thinking off, but there is a chance of some kind of contingency using Palo, but then you would be very lucky if you got that.

I would expect Topsiders on extended hours myself.

But what we know Menus for StP,nights are not available, Palo isn't open as at this moment, maybe open sittings, or buffets??

We are signed up for an evening excursion in STP the first night, so I would guess the dining room manager would see that and use our table for late arriving guests.

Yes, quite possible, I know I have been phoned when I have Palo Dinner booked and they ask if I will use my table, I respond yes, as my Kids still go.

Agree, 120 days, is a landmark, and we are getting closer, at least I can relax now, its all over, the main planning, now have to decide, where my driver will go in Berlin.

I plan to place a stateroom credit on my account equal to the shore trips and Palo cost, when the pound returns to a sensible level.

:thumbsup2
So much to see in Berlin. I know the Berlin Walks tour company we are going with has several different kinds of tours depending upon interests and if you are first timers or not. I know Check Point Charlie is one place we want to stop at, also the remains of the wall and I have heard good things about museum island also. You will be able to go back pretty easily right? so less pressure to get "everything" in.

I have to get back to the bank to get some more euros and pounds while the level is not sensible;)

For most that is very feasible... and probably far cheaper...
:thumbsup2 I have heard quite a bit about DIY as far as these ports and my family really needs to save $ as much as we can. Plus I am a compulsive planner:laughing: I love the research:goodvibes

I did the semi formal Captain's Gala night for Palo because my husband and I don't like lobster and figure we would be dressing up a bit more fancy that rotational dining that night anyway. I think Copenhagen is a good night to go too. My husband really wanted 2 days of brunch (which we may do once we board and can wait list) but we get the dinner for "free" for being Platinum members.

The only thing left on our list to plan is a mode of transportation from Heathrow to the Park Plaza Westminister Bridge.
Oh I am hoping for an extra brunch as well:thumbsup2

Several options for transport from Heathrow to hotels. Depends on what you want and how much luggage you have to lug. A private ride is most expensive but easier. Andrew had posted the mechanics of navigating the airport to train to hotel a while back-this is less expensive, but involves lugging your bags around.

Are you on the bus for the port?

:sad2:Hope she feels better soon:grouphug:

No logic, just feeling sympathy for the wait staff in all dining rooms who don't get a break.

Ditto
I waitressed during my college years and I have never worked so hard as I did then. Not an easy job. I am pretty sure they give them some time off, it just might not be in the evenings.

Ahh, the advantage of having the last Baltic cruise:cool1:
They will hopefully have worked it all out by the time they get to us:goodvibes

We are taking Disney transfers from the hotel to the port and back. We thought about taking the Tube, but I think my DH and MIL would rather do a shuttle of some sort to make it easier for the boys and my MIL. We will each have a bag plus a formal bag.

We were originally told several times that we would have a shuttle from Heathrow to the hotel through our DCL transfers. However, when they found out we booked the hotel through Expedia (saving over $100 a night compared to DCL charges for the same room) they told us we couldn't take it.

Have you checked with Celestine to see if there is still room on the coaches she has arranged for us to get to the port from the city? The price is very reasonable for us.

Speaking of Celestine and the bus; I take it the only way for us to pay is to have actual bills to hand over? It's not a problem, I just want to make sure I save out enough for both ways.
