How is your planning for Baltic? I believe that it will be very expensive for Baltic...

I do want to go on Baltic cruise but another times...

Scottishwee35

Yes it is expensive, also factoring in UK£>$> local currency in some aspects.

It will be very worth it, looking forward to it, have a Cat 3 for the 12 nights.

Planning narrowed it down to two shore trips in each port, a 1/ and 2/ as I know DCL change things so want options when I book and not requiring a rethink, Berlin is possible if DCL come back to me, St Petes is all organized with a private tour for two days, All confirmed.

What you up to??

To far, other cruise lines do fly to Moscow with an overnight stay from St Petes, its quite a long way, presume due to our port times it isnt possible.

He went on baltic cruise on 1974 then me 1976 - no Moscow as he said waste of times on travel to Moscow but good to see it, that why I didn't get it...

I do remember soliders was everywhere but I don't think nowaday...

Well you said you would watch them!
I mentioned we would take them drinking at one of the cafes in the square in Tallinn while the rest of the family was Segwaying, I never said I would watch them. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

That was only while you went off the Berlin to find yourself a fraulein, I believe! :lmao:

Caro, it's his wife we are going to watch while he's off to Berlin on the fraulein hunt and postcard sending spree. :rotfl2: :flower3:

Celestine

As Elton would sing, 'Iam still standing', PIF a while back, but some will not make the final hurdle, but we will sail full, as we are the last and after the trip reports from the first one or two Baltics, I can see people booking late or trying to and being disappointed.

With no repeat of Baltics in 2011, you only have four cruises and thats it!!!

Ok....Is there a family of 3 or 4 that would like to join our StP tour? We won't be going to the Hermitage.
So far I have on my list for the first day Peter & Paul Fortress, Church of the Saviour on the Spilt Blood, Lady of Cazan Cathedral and a 1 hour boat tour, plus I need to add in another venue. The first day has us getting back on the ship about 8pm. For the 2nd day so far it's Monplaisir Palace and the grounds at Peterhoff with lunch on our own at the cafe, Constantine's Palace and then walking and shopping time in the city before returning to the ship around 7pm.
The 1st day has a meeting time of 1pm at Passport Control and the 2nd day has a meeting time of 8:30am at Passport Control.

We would love to join you but I really want to see the Hermitage.

Does anyone else have room left in their private tour or interested in getting a small group together? It will be myself and DH- we haven't decided about our DD yet.

Our DD is very social and usually makes friends easily but what if she doesn't want to stay on the ship while in StP? I know she would not enjoy looking at the different museums, buildings, etc. and would have much more fun with other children doing kid activities but...Oh, maybe I am just feeling a little guilty. :confused3
For those of you that have gone on a cruise before with young children what have your experiences been like regarding this?

My kids have been ok, in the Med (2007)we did 5 private tours in 7 ports, and they were 11 and 8, they went to many places of interest, Florence, Pisa, Rome, Vatican etc.

They will be 14 and 11 on this one and our private tour will cover all of the famous places.

No problem, I'm sure another family will want to see the Hermitage. We saw it last time and have no interest in going again.

For our first 5 cruises DD only got off the ship twice, once in St Marteen and once in Mazatlan. She was more than happy to stay on the ship and play in the club/lab and we were more than happy to be off the ship without her whining about being with us. She was 5 on our first cruise and then was 11 when we went to Mazatlan.
Can't remember your DD's age, but since we have a short day in StP and a long day maybe you could take her off the first day and then leave her in the club/lab the 2nd day.
