We got our letter today! Woo hooo..... $400 OBC! Nice :thumbsup2

Any possibility it's related to the fuel surcharge they charged at booking?

My condolences to the Disney family and the Disney company at the loss or Roy E. :sad1: May his reunion in heaven be sweet.

We got our plane tickets to London yesterday, so today I called Disney about reserving a hotel for two days prior to the cruise.

They told me only the Park Plaza is available, and a family of four will have to reserve 2 rooms. With transfers, they quoted me a price of over $2000.

I just can't believe that is the best we can do. For the night after the cruise at the Renaissance, we can all fit in one room for $960 (with transfers).

How hard will it be to do this on my own? If I've paid for airport transfers already, will they still take us to Dover if we get our own rooms? The person who answered my call was a little difficult, so I'd thought I'd come to a friendlier source!

First off, DCL is charging outrageous prices for their hotel rooms. It's almost criminal what they are charging when you get rates for about half of what they are charging.

Your best bet is to send Celestine a PM for transfers she is setting up for us at an approximate cost of 15 GBP for each person. Then book your own hotel on each side of the trip and save yourself a ton of money.

Carolyn has booked a hotel for 4 people near Victoria Station at a reasonable cost. Sorry can't remember the cost. We are booked for 3 people in an Executive room at the Park Plaza London Victoria for 134 GBP per night, we are staying 2 nights.

I do believe you can use DCL's transfers even if booking your own hotel. You would be responsible for getting to their hotel choice for transport. But...check with DCL on this to be sure.

Andrew the email you have listed is something brand new that cruise line is sending out. The guest email address has to be on the reservation. For those of you that booked through a TA the email has to be added to the reservation by your TA. This is something new and currently I am receiving the emails for my clients and forward them until I have everyone's email listed in their reservation. Which can take a while. On all new reservations I have made in the last two weeks the email has been entered so that all those people will already be set up to receive the emails.

bottom line if you are booked through a TA ask for them to check that the email is in the record so that you will receive these type of emails in the future. this is how DCL will be communicating about final payment reminders, shore excursions available to book, etc.

Had a response today, they logged a few reuests etc, and confirmed Baltic shore trips will be posted 'very shortly' I worked it out as first week in January, not sure if thats very shortly, would be nice to review over Christmas.

Rotations.deck parties, entertainment, as expected, no details, but had to ask.

Sorry about your flights, but BA stike is OFF.

Snowing here now, and expected to be bad tonight, severe weather warning for the South-East part of England, ie Me! Bet all transport stopped in London on Friday and everyone starts Christmas holidays, at work and schools a day early.

Shops people panic buying milk, bread etc!!!!

PS

Had a response from DCL re 2011, I say response, cant post anything more as there wasn't really any content. But it was nice they came back quickly.

When I get home tonight I'll check what hotel we are booked at and the price!

We are saying at the Comfort Inn Victoria. http://www.comfortinnvictoria.co.uk/
We'll have 2 adults and 2 children (16 and 11) in a Family Ensuite room. Checking in Thursday July 15 and checking out Sunday July 18. Total amount with 15% VAT/tax included is 426.00 (British Pounds) which as of tonight was $689.00 (american). Quite a bit cheaper than what you are being quoted through DCL!

It is in the single digits this morning

Spent most the day with daughter and my mom shopping - got lunch out of the deal

Now all tucked in for the night

have a great weekend one and all

:)

Sitting here waiting for the snow to start and not looking forward to it either.

Been doing some last minute online shopping today, taking advantage of the free shipping offers and free gift wrap.

Got my phone in the mail today, I left it on the counter at the house in FL on Sunday. Gotta love good friends that will go to the post office, for something stupid I, did the week before Christmas. :grouphug:

When I got to my car today and cleared the snow off, my windscreen had a large crack in it, now back in 2004 I had a small hole cause by a stone that was sealed up, but suppose in the cold, its gone.

Booked for repairs next week, whilst insured for that there is an excess to pay.

Still cold here.

:cold: Good Morning All :cold:
