We just got our letter today. Since I haven't been on the boards for a few days it took me completely by surprise, a pleasant surprise. :cool1:

So far this is the only info on an excursion that I've seen officially released by DCL:

Disney Cruise Line announced it had arranged exclusive access to the famed Catherine Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia to hold a series of Royal Balls for passengers on upcoming Disney Cruise Line voyages. The private functions at the historic summer residence of Russia's imperial family and will include live musicians and "royal courtiers" in period costumes and powdered wigs who will lead passengers in song and dance. Cinderella, Snow White and Belle will arrive at the palace by horse-drawn carriage. The exclusive-to-Disney offering is just one of several unusual family-friendly shore excursions the line announced Monday as it prepares to expand its sailings in Europe.
That sounds like fun to me, but I'm doubting I'll get anyone in my family to go:sad2:

No, Laurie - you are on the bus list. This was for those who asked about car service from the airport to their hotel. After Xmas I'll post a list of who I believe wants to be on the bus & see where we go from there

Celestine
Umm, we need that too. Just not sure when as we haven't booked our flights yet. It looks like we will be flying out of NY so as to leave our dog with my DMiL. We'll probably get our flights soon now that we know what we are doing.

Conserving energy in honor of Copenhagen!
:laughing::laughing:

Happy Sunday All!!
When Bob and I went on our Great Britain cruise we rented an international phone but I can't remember where. Have any of you rented a phone for an international trip? I would like to have one this time because of the the length of time we will be gone with Madison. My daughter will be having withdrawals and want to say hi occasionally. Any recommendations?
My friend wound up renting an international phone from Verizon-said it was cheaper than other options. She let my son call us almost everyday while they were in Italy this summer. Our talks were short, but it felt good just to hear his voice.

Reports on main forum of people on our cruise getting letters with extra offers of OBC,

Havent had one, anyone else?
Got ours and we are not paid in full yet.

Just had a communication re 2011, and decided to cancel, its a very very sad day, asked ofr a full refund. This will be my last Disney cruise.:sad2:

Merry Christmas DCL!!

Oh Andrew:guilty:
I hope not...
I totally understand your frustration though:sad2:
I know quite a few people from the PC repo cruise we went on are very angry with DCL and jumping ship to other cruiselines.
We are thinking of maybe cruising in 2011 on the Dream, but not sure yet.

Now haven't had any letter re the OBC, but

Had an email today from concierge on this cruise saying my concierge is now available and open to contact,

Very nice.

Also had the same for my canceled Med cruise, sent an hour or so after i canceled.

Now you would expect a retentions unit or customer service at DCL to call after six cruises and knowing that I canceled due to the change enforced at their end, but nothing, not even a sorry you canceled.

Maybe I expect too much, customer service,

Andy, you are right on ! We should always give our best and expect the best. It's a sad world ! In this high tech world we live in, don't you think the lack of communication is kinda ironic !! Not to mention common courtesy and respect !

Thank you, thats what my thinking was, sent a bit of ''feedback'' to Guest communications, guess they will get me to walk the plank.

I received my OBC letter's today for both cruises!:thumbsup2

However I have not received any e-mails from concierge, I do not believe I ever have unless i initiated contact!:sad2:

On OBC;s think as posted, there will be a delay to the UK, so not worried.

Concierge, had two emails, saying options to review etc, looks nice.

Pinged a note back to them to ask about release of shore trips.

I'm getting serious about this cruise thing now! I'm sure this has been asked and answered, but please tell me again....

Which of the three Disney sponsored hotels is closest to the train? We're planning a day trip, and I'd like to be close to it.

Thanks!
Beth

Depends on what train as there are loads, but they have three

Park Plaza
Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel
Renaissance Chancery Court

Park Plaza seens to be greyed out now,

Grosvenor is in Mayfair, tube Marble arch central line not near mainline, a taxi from Victoria

Chancery court is in Holborn again Central line tube and not near mainline further from Victoria.

Both are in nice locations for shops and getting around, its just to/from airport would need effort.

Park plaza county hall is in a good location near Waterloo, opposite Westminster, and Hyatt London bridge is a great location, fast service Gatwick>London bridge and just ouside, you can see it from the platforms and other side looks over london bridge and tower bridge, service to Dover also departs here.

Thank you for the info. We want to take the train to Liverpool if that helps explain where we need to be.

Beth

Andrew the email you have listed is something brand new that cruise line is sending out. The guest email address has to be on the reservation. For those of you that booked through a TA the email has to be added to the reservation by your TA. This is something new and currently I am receiving the emails for my clients and forward them until I have everyone's email listed in their reservation. Which can take a while. On all new reservations I have made in the last two weeks the email has been entered so that all those people will already be set up to receive the emails.

bottom line if you are booked through a TA ask for them to check that the email is in the record so that you will receive these type of emails in the future. this is how DCL will be communicating about final payment reminders, shore excursions available to book, etc.

Thanks for this explanation. I rec'd them for the 3 future cruises and a different one for the Jan. cruise telling me I can book their transfers. I already put in the online documents we are driving to the port, but I guess they really want me to pay for their transfers.
I like the new emails they are sending out.
