I don't think I mentioned here I was having food surgery on the 18th of November. I had to have a bunionectomy but it was a bit more extensive and the doctor had to do some repair work to the next toe too. I had a dream about a nurse telling me she was going to put a cute little cap on a pin sticking out of my second toe to keep it from catching on the bandages. When I went in for my first post op, I learned that wasn't a dream!!:scared1::scared1: I realized I got home without asking the doctor how exactly that pin comes out. :confused3
This past Monday I finally got up the nerve to ask and apparently he just pulls it out in another couple of weeks. :scared1::scared1::scared1:
I've been sitting around with my foot propped up for over two weeks now and I'm really going stir crazy. My younger daughter, who btw just lost her job yesterday, is coming by today to start decorating for me. I get to sit and point!:rotfl:
I have all this time I wish they would have posted the excursions so I could do research. I need something fun to do....

Hope it all goes well, my son had a pin in his elbow after an accident, and they just pulled it out a week or so later, took a second, and it was done.

If you want it to feel like the weekend please don't quote my boss on the good vs. excellent thing!

3 more hours here and then a weekend full of football :cool1:

Sorry.

:wave2: All! I know I've all but disappeared. So sorry, but I fly by for a tune-up occassionally. :rotfl2: Anyway, was doing some research for a NYE party and came across this little tidbit, not sure if anyone has mentioned this but thought it was an interesting tidbit.

My research is for New Years Traditions across the world and came across Estonia's tradition:

Estonia
In (leaner) decades past, Estonians followed a custom of trying to eat seven times on New Year’s Day, to ensure abundant food in the coming year. (If a man ate seven times, he was supposed to have the strength of seven men the following year). Modern-day celebrations here, however—especially in the party-hearty capital of Tallinn—tend to revolve as much around alcohol as food.

That's about it - but since I recently returned from Peru, think I will follow their custom of wearing yellow underwear.........and no - I'm not allowing ANYONE to check! :rotfl2:

OK now that I skimmed off the top, I'm flying away again, this weekend is our annual March for Hunger, 26.2 miles from East Los Angeles to Santa Monica at the end. Our morning starts at 5:30 and ends about 9:30-10:30. This year I vow to make it to the 2nd St Promenade for at least one store even if its just to check out the stores.

Last year the school raised $26,500 dollars for the Los Angles Catholic Soup Kitchen. They are AKA "Hippie Kitchen" of LA. I was lucky enough to spend a few hours there 2 weeks ago and the stories I heard were heartbreaking. But the spirit of many of those folks was hard to overlook. Many were gracious people despite their appearances. Make me wonder sometimes who are the barbarians, them or the "normal" people.

OK - off my soapbox, don't we have some barbarians on this thread? As for behaving, good luck Barb! :worship: :rotfl:
