Yes it adds up, its a modern high speed train service, similar to London to Paris by Eurostar, but that is cheaper and goes under the Sea!!!

DCL will get a bulk discount, well their tour operator will.

Do the DCL excursions say they are using a high speed train to go into Berlin? Usually the cruiselines get the old, slow train that has no a/c on it.

I also wear Clarks springers & they are great. Have a closed toe shoe as well as a sandal & they are both great for longdays with several miles of walking! I also find my feet can breath better than socks & sneakers

I love Earth shoes for walking. They have a great arch support and wonderful for posture. I have had one pair for almost five years. They have a big selection at zappos.com.

You might be right on this, not 100%, my understanding was weekday cruiselines do get the ACT, train, (departs 7.50 ish...Berlin @ 11.15am) and its the new fast modern high speed one, with air con, but at weekends the old ones run, so we should be OK, they have been upgrading these, and my sister who did this cruise on RCCL recently had the new ones.

In 2008, we were there on a weekday and it was the old trains for the ships tours. Maybe they are phasing out the old trains.

They are replacing the old trains with new ones, and I was told weekdays is modern and weekends old, but also my sister was on a modern one.

It would sound logical.

Well having spent yesterday reviewing trips etc. I think we are decided to DIY all ports except St Pete's where we are planning on the walking tour with the girls (hoping this is available on arrival day) & the second day just me & DH doing the Hermitage & Petrhof. Is anyone else planning on leaving kids on the ship? Whilst it's a long time I think that trip would be wasted on them 7 it would spoil it for us & realistically we'll never get back there. Also, depending on the masterclass on the Magic my girls fancy that, but the shore excursions are a priority over that.

Have sent off e-mails to companies in Tallinn re: bus & walking tour starting at the port & ending in Town Square & the viking walk company re: location/accessibility from cruise pier & also the food option. Will let you know if/when I get a response

The first day I might take all of my children 17/15/9/6 but on the second day I will just take the older 2.

When we did the Med in 2007 we usually left the younger 2 in the clubs! They had a good time & never complained except when we took them out for dinner or bed!:lmao:

I truly believe that the 1/2 day tours are the most the younger 2 can handle (even for the older 2 it can be a stretch!):confused3:laughing:

How mean of you to take your kids out of the club for dinner and bed. The nerve of some parents. :rotfl2:

It is easier to e-mail than PM!:rolleyes1

Yes.

Had a lot of questions re London, transport, Dover, etc etc recently, happy to assist.

Due to work commitments, and parental commitment not around much, Monday to Friday, next weekend DD is in DLP with the girl guides, I am picking her up from Ebbsfleet Sunday night.

Off in a second or two, as there is a drama I want to watch with 100% attention on the TV.
