Thaf will be a fun but :cold: trip!:lmao: Ihope the water is not frozen at Small World!:scared1:

We didn't see ice on IASM, but we did see ice on the 'lake' out by the hotels. Not a nice sight to see the seagulls standing on the ice. This was the beginning of Feb. 2003.

I am definitely going with Anastasia for StP!

What are you thinking of doing for Berlin?

I am pretty sure we are doing Anastasia in StP too. I have not heard from them since I wrote back about getting in at 12:30 on the first day. My sil thinks it sounds like a good idea. I am afraid to try Berlin on our own. That is such a long trip to worry about missing the ship. But I am waiting to hear what Laurie finds out.!

I would definitely NOT due Berlin on your own!

I would not want to miss the boat! & it is a long trip on your own!

Drinks and ice cream on the beach in Warnemunde is the way to go. :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

2 of my favorite things in life!

Hmmm Baily's Kalua & a scoop of Vanilla!:woohoo: or some drost chocolate liquor!:yay::banana:

It was very funny to see all these people, at about 3:00, go to the beachside cafe and get drinks and ice cream. Even funnier to see the fake palm trees.
I'm hoping for a nice day so we can have a beach day there. The beach is huge and very clean. Maybe we'll just take off towels and go sit on the beach for a while, after grabbing some snacks and drinks to take with us. Can't forget the nourishment.

DH is really looking forward to visiting the beer shack for a few bottles. That's all he's talked about since we were there. Plus he keeps telling people about it, so that means we have to go.

I really, really, really would hate to miss the boat and have to try to get to Russia. Warnemunde on the steam engine is looking better by the minute!

Barb seems to have a superdee duper Dis Meet Plan since she is a Mod she should go for some sponsership funds for a Dis Meet Beach Blast in Warnemunde!

Marla Marla how about you hitting up the power's to be?:3dglasses

It would be very easy to do the steam train and Rostock on your own since the train station is at the port. This type of planning is when cruisecritic.com come in handy since there's a ton of info over there on how do this.

Does this mean we could let all the kids go off together in town since you can see the ship while in town? Safety in numbers and we have 4 traveling with us. :upsidedow

Here's the meets plan in Warnemunde: grab a towel from the ship and meet at the lighthouse by the teapot building along the beach. We can then grab some sand spots with drinks and snacks or go to the cafe with the fake palm trees and check out the beach beds and chairs with their bar drinks and snacks, including ice cream.
See....that wasn't so hard to do.

Was that a quick enough response to a DIS meet in Warnemunde?

Now the next question: who on this thread speaks German? Not many of the locals speak English. We did get by with ordering snacks in the bakery, yes they serve alcohol, and with the little bit of shopping we did in town. The easiest place we found to shop in was the Jack Wolf store, they did speak English there.

We watched Inglourious Basterds last night and I was quite good at reading subtitles!:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:
