Moved over here from the June 24th cruise, switched to this one, better fit for the end of school year.

Anyhow...

We are from New Jersey, 6 of us coming on the cruise (2 cabins on Deck 6):

My in-laws in one cabin and...

Me
My beautiful Wife
And my 2 daughters (10 and will-be 8)

My 10 year old is hoping to find an e-mail pal before the cruise, so if anyone is interested in writing to her please drop me a private message and I can give you her information.

We have been on 2 Disney cruises before (2001 and 2006 I believe), they were both out of Florida - - this will be the biggest adventure I've ever been on; I have never been across the pond.

Welcome....
There are several of us from the area, 'the area' being VA-NY. Ok Robert, I'll include MA as well. :grouphug:

If you want your info posted in the first post let Julie know...bellelinus.
You can also look there for tons of info for London and the various ports. My family did a Baltic cruise summer 2008 and we are really looking forward to going there again with DCL.

Hi, I'm Karen, formerly from NJ, now in CA. I will be travelling with my DH and DGD who will be 8. We are also travelling with my bil and sil and their two daughters who will be 8 and 10. I will email my sil and see if Rheanna would like to have a pen pal and get back to you soon. Welcome aboard!!

Welcome aboard, JetsMets! :yay: I realize that you probably have too few posts to be able to PM me, so just let me know here if you want your family info put on the first post of this thread . . .

Not a worry, a very valid concern. We had a couple miss the ship in Warnemunde and they had to drive 5 hours to Munich, spend 2 nights in Germany and then fly to meet us at the next port which good for them was not StP. They didn't go to Berlin, they had a rental car and broke down on the way back and they were cutting it too close as it was. They broke down at 9:00pm about ½ hour from port and we were scheduled to leave at 10:30. They also almost missed the ship in Copenhagen, which was our first stop. Needless to say, their honeymoon was memorable for many bad reasons.
Actually it was Julie that reminded me of the visa in St. P. issue-I wish I had that much forethought...
And your story makes me even more sure that we will probably stay near the port:sad2:
Sounds like that couple had quite the adventure...maybe they will go back in 10 years for a redo:confused3

We stayed in that area one time and also had a place that didn't have an elevator, but we were on the 5th floor. DH counted how many steep steps we had to go up and down each day but I've long forgotten. When the webstie descriptions says it's a small hotel just remember that the rooms will be even smaller than you think they will. At least it looks like you will have 2 connecting small rooms, which was better than our 1 tiny room for 3. The room was so small it made a cat. 5-10 on DCL look like a very spacious suite. :scared1: Our bathroom was so tiny, we barely had room to turn around and taking a shower was almost a joke. I'm just glad we were only there 3 or 4 days and were gone most of the time. Although I was sick in the room 1 day. It was winter so we didn't have to worry about lack of a/c, just glad the place had heat.
I would rather stay in a place with an elevator, but this way I'm hoping to save more money for fun stuff:woohoo: Plus we are only looking at 2 nights in London, so not long if it winds up being uncomfortable.

Haven't been on in a while, but here's an update.

We booked airfare awhile back. Virgin Atlantic Roundtrip Dulles-Heathrow (non-stop)
We also booked our hotel for one night before and two nights after the cruise in London. We're staying at the Grosvenor House Hotel. This is one of the hotels Disney is booking, but we booked on our own for Much cheaper. But, since it's one of Disney's hotels we were able to add on the transfers to and from the port. I know they may not be the Most cost effective, but it seems to be the least stressful which is what I need on vacation! :) I do have to find transportation to/from the airport since I didn't book directly through Disney, however I don't think this should be a problem.
We're also planning on pre-purchasing Oyster cards so we can easily navigate the city in our few days there.
Now if only Disney would announce the Shore Excursions!!!

Reminds me, what is the airfare lately? Has it dropped at all or gone up?

oh...my DH is going to like you:laughing:
A Jets and Mets fan:eek:

Both my DH (Darren) and DD12 (Kelly) are big Mets fans and DH roots for the Jets as well:thumbsup2

This is my first trip to Europe as well. My DH went to France when he was a teenager and my DS15 (Andrew) went to Italy this past summer with a friend, but Kelly and I are on our first trip across the pond:goodvibes

WELCOME ABOARD:cheer2::cheer2:

Actually I booked awhile ago, so I'm not sure how the movement has been more recently. I should go back and see if the price has changed. I think we paid around $2300 Total RT for 2. The exact number is in my desk at work.

++ Welcome JetsMets!

Laurie I keep checking airfare and it's going to run us about $3400 for the 3 of us from PHL if I book now. The price has pretty much stayed the same since I started checking last month. Still trying to decide if we are going to use miles or our timeshare points for 1 or 2 of the tickets or even all 3. Plus we are still trying to decide which airline to go on, either USAir or BA. We've used BA every time, but once, that we've flown to London.
I've checked airports from NY to DC/VA and they've all been in the same ballpark for every airline I've checked. I haven't found a big enough savings for me to drive 2+ hours each way.

Yeah....Phillies are going to the World Series!!!! :yay: :woohoo:

I know, I've lost my Phillies buddy on here...JoAnn. :sad1:

Mike is as well, but he hasn't posted here in a while. But in his defense, he has started a new job and sickness has been running thru their house.

Looks like you might be rooting for them along with me. :upsidedow

front - thank you.

Don't forget to share your names!!!

My sil got back to me and my niece Rheanna would love to have a pen-pal. At this point, my niece Shelby and granddaughter Madison are jealous:confused3 and are wondering if your younger daughter would be penpals with them. PM me and I will get you the info.

Robert....oh Robert.....where have you been? I've missed your daily 'Morning in big colorful letters. :sad1:
I hope we didn't scare you away by giving you our opinions when you asked for them. :confused3 But I know it will take a lot more than our opinions to scare you away. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rolleyes1 :dance3: :grouphug:

My cruise dropped in price by $164. :thumbsup2 Any ideas as to why? Has anyone else noticed a drop in price?
