Ah your to blame!!!
Are you
sure that is why people are distancing themselves?
Well its either that or BO, or being a freind of Captain Crash, has he been in contact with you???
Now what you have to remember, is things can and do charge over a time period, for example we all knew they were after Alaska as they applied for permits to sail Glacier Bay.
But what you have to know it’s there are scouts out there all the time in various potential ports of call, looking at facilities, looking at cost, looking at local tours and shore trips, and for home ports, supplies including food of large quantities compatible with quality for DCL menus. Many ports ask for Disney, but fail to come up to their standards.
So this is an ongoing scouting check, and lots get dropped, for example we know about Tampa being considered against Port Canaveral, and also San Diego has been considered against San Pedro, now San Diego is not out of the long term running just lost out on the first round of two years.
They have other commitments for dry dock, each ship twice in five year period mandatory, and try to tie in with Disney parks and resorts and advent ours by Disney.
Their top priority is not the region to cruise, it is of course income, so reduce capacity in the Caribbean and move ships to West coast USA, or Europe on special limited cruises and they sell well and at a far higher price, stay in the Caribbean or extend stays in Europe, supply/demand shows price will fall.
They have scouts out again in Europe, for 2012, something’s can be clear something’s out of focus, I think I was first or one of the first to say West coast in 2011, I didn’t say the Wonder, I said the Magic. I thought the Dream would take over seven night Caribbean cruises, but other reports seem to show it takes over the Bahamas run.
I know I was the first for many months to say Baltic in 2010, and there was more, to it, I called them phantom cruises to/from UK, I said one of three ports for the UK that was out of focus, as it was Dover, but said Madeira, I said Tunis and said Malta.
But things can and do change at the last minute Alaska is the example, it was on, then off, I do not think it’s dead in the water (pardon pun), but Hawaii seems to be on the radar, more and more.
Overall they never do anything rash, they build things up slowly, and carefully, i.e. Eastern Caribbean only first, then some Westerns, then special Westerns then special Eastern, Panama and West coast repeated every three years, Europe was about the most rash they got and it worked very well.
Each time the pattern is extend it a bit more, Baltic bolts on to the Med for example.
What I do know and have been posting for a while is there is a big announcement coming, I said by the end of August, that’s what I was told, actually it looks like September 10th,
D23 Expo, and we are in for a few surprises soon, in a month!
