Glad you posted that, not that it may reduce, but I have posted on the main forum for a while now that booking a dummy and moving it on doesn't guarantee you will get the current discount. It will be subject to the deals in force at that time, or on that ship.

I think the DREAM will be 5% discount, the others will be the full 10%. And the DREAM might be further restricted, at the start for say 3>6 months.

It does depend on bookings, if they can fill the DREAM they will not offer large discounts. The current older ships will need discounts or new trips like the Wonder in LA to keep capacity up.

PS

Paid of 58% of this cruise now as $ rate 1.70 and rising!!! could we make $2 a £ now again well wait and see, I think it will be volatile but will now increase but not to $2 until 2010 mid year.

Would love to make 2:1 again, but paid off a bit more of next years cruise anyway - far better than the 1:$1.35 at the start of the year!

Well it all depends on if all of the bad news its out and if anyone else in the Bank of England or Government says or does anything stupid.

I think the rates will not get bacl to $2 for one for 18 months or so, but the $ should go out of favor, the £ took far to much of a hammering earlier and was way oversold, hence a rebound to a sensible level, in fact its now at an average rate, before the last two years we would all have been happy with $1.70

$1.35 was stupid! was like that in 2003 was well, but went back up then as well.

Paid off a chunk each time it rises, so to average it out, just in case it falls again then I can say I always had a 'chunk' right of it all.

Is it Friday yet???:hippie: if it is,,,,,,,,maybe.......:rolleyes1.

Happy Saturday, Andrew! When do you head off for your vacation? We got the cruise docs for our cruise (we board in three weeks) so I know yours must be close - don't you board the Magic a week from today?

Excellent! And afterwards you are doing the parks, right? So when do you get back? Are you flying Virgin or BA this time?

Yes the timetable is like this:-

  • Three nights at the Contemporary resort,-MK/Tower room.
  • -I plan to visit only MK from there as its a walk.
  • Seven Nights Eastern cruise with Tortola.
  • 10 Nights private Villa, thats near Formosa gardens about 5 mins from the 192 Maingate WDW entrance.
  • We have 21 night WDW passes, so I will go back and do the other WDW Theme parks then.

We also have Discovery cove booked for the 23rd, the Sunday after the cruise ends and I intend to use the 'Seaworld' option on this.

The idea this way around is I do not loose the last day of the holiday, if the cruise ends the day of the flight I waste a day at MCO Hyatt, also USA school kids tend to go back earlier than us, but WDW have free dinner plan then to I presume that counter acts on that.

The parks are less of a priority this time, I think we will go in early but might leave early and go back to the villa, it could hold 12 people there are just us 4 in it.

Flying Virgin this time, as booked a flydrive with Virgin holidays to include the car insurance and park tickets.

When do you go????

Sounds wonderful! This is the first time we have cruised that we will not do any theme parks -- my oldest daughter has an internship and can't take too much time off (after our big blow out trip earlier in the summer!). So we fly out the morning of the 28th, spend that afternoon/evening/night at the MCO Hyatt, head to the port for the 7 day cruise, then fly back the day we get back into PC (September 5). The girls start school September 9.

This will be the first time we have purchased the DCL transfers and plan to let them handle the luggage, print out boarding passes onboard, etc. We usually rent a car, or do a car service, but this is such a simple trip I thought I'd try to make everything as simple as possible. Our ports will all just involve heading to the beach and relaxing!:goodvibes

Sounds nice, sometimes the simple ones are the best, getting DCL transfers etc, better than hire car, next year that bit will be far easier for me, with just a drive in my own car to and from port and parking there,I have contacted Dover port to ask when they will put booking up, as the website says 12>18 months in advance.

Yes, just driving to the port will be wonderful (not to mention a huge saving in airfare for you)! I have always hoped that DCL would end up doing some sailings out of the Northeast . . . when I did a RCCL cruise it was out of Port Liberty, NJ, and an easy taxi ride each way - but it wasn't Disney:sad2:

Morning all :wave2:
Thought I would pop in for a quick look before we head up to the airport in a little bit. Heading to San Francisco for the week. Looking forward to cooler, dryer weather and the yummy clam chowder in a bread bowl at the Boudin Bakery.
Catch you all in 9 days. :wave2:
